What was it bid to in last auction? I wish they had something similar like bringatrailer where they show a link to the previous auction.
What is NA OM602? I assume NA = North America but OM602? Also, I have been told that finding parts for a vehicle that has a vin not made for the US will make it difficult to find parts at dealers. Is there a method to how to do it? And will MB techs be familiar to work with the engine?
So was the bumpers and lights modified from US to Euro? I assume this originally was built with US lights and bumpers?
How many sets of keys? I have a 1998. And you can not get a key from a Mercedes dealership. Apparently a 3rd party company made them and went out of business but had a parent on them. I was told a keysmith may be able to clone one but have not found one yet that can.
Also, has the AC been converted from R12 to 134a and does it blow cold? By the way does anyone know what year Mercedes started putting 134a in the W124?
Is it the engine harness on these that is made from biodegradable material I think? Has it been replaced?
nice move @tcstraker
I would rather see this go to another private collector, it would be a shame if a dealer wins this auction.
Hello, thank you for the replies on the harness. Is this an R12 AC? if no, was it converted properly? I currently have a 2007 E350 and on hot days it Texas, for example a few days ago at 100 I had to have the AC on almost the highest setting to keep it cool. So now I am wondering, even though you stated the AC does not need to be charged, does this car from the 90s have an A/C that works in hot summer days either in Florida or Texas? I am actually in Florida today and it's hot! Can it cool good?
Why is the wiring harness such an issue?
