@JTwoods4 - it’s a euro car converted to a hammer in the US. If it was an AMG Germany car, it would been offered with AMG certification. No certification is mentioned. Per forum post - AMG Classic certification process is still for cars modified by AMG in Affalterbach. Cars modified by AMG N America, Strattons in the UK, AMG Japan, AMG Canada are not covered. For AMG N America, Richard Buxbaum ex owner of AMG N America has provided letters authenticating cars done by his shop.

@AMG5pt4 - looks like you are restoring one at the moment. What’s a realistic cost for a decent restoration, I don’t have an open checkbook and not planning to take it to Monterey/Amelia island. Recaro Classics did not exist in 1984 which indicates seats were not installed at AMG Germany at time of build, possibly done later. The 50.1 cams do not prove a 5.4 displacement. Cams and badge are good indicators, but not hard proof. Only way is measure the displacement, there won't be any stamping on block. Is there is Gleason-Torsen differential installed? Special oil tag is generic Mercedes. Even if GT diff was present, it would be on borrowed time. Any way to confirm? Seller can you post AMG stamping from side skirts and bumpers? I did not see that from pics.
