These staggered 17″ Penta wheels measure 8.5″ and 10″ in width and were custom-built for use on various Mercedes-Benz models. The wheels began as original Penta wheels by Ronal and were converted to a 3-piece design allowing for custom sizing. Finished in silver with a polished lip, these wheels feature a 5x112 bolt pattern and an offset of +21. The centers still show a 1988 manufacture date in Italy. The barrels and lips are custom fitted and four premerger AMG center caps are included. These custom 17" wheels are now offered by the seller in Beirut, Lebanon and worldwide shipping quotes are available upon request.
These multi-piece wheels are finished in silver with polished lips and are in excellent condition. The front wheels measure 8.5″ wide while the rear wheels measure 10″ wide. All four wheels feature a 5x112mm bolt pattern and an offset of +21. Pictures in the gallery show the wheels prior to assembly with the faces, lips, and barrels individually placed.
The original Ronal faces show an original manufacture date of 1988 in Italy. Each wheel comes with original premerger AMG center caps. The wheels can be shipped worldwide by the seller and are located in Beirut, Lebanon.
The MB Market Insights
The popularity of premerger AMG cars and parts has become mainstream amongst car enthusiasts worldwide. The original AMG Penta wheel is now iconic and a favorite for any AMG fan. As these cars have gained in popularity, so has the desire for the parts as people are building incredible specs today. Many of these have a restomod flavor while still remaining true to the original design language and attitude of the OG's. These custom 3-piece Pentas do just that. AMG replaced the Penta wheels with their 3-piece OZ Aero III in the mid-to-late 80's. Think of this as the perfect blend of both. From a sizing standpoint, they're nearly identical to the Aero III's with a slighly less aggressive offset. These wheels can fit on a wide range of models as is, and with some suspension mods, could fit a lot more. If you win this auction, we're asking ahead of time for pictures of the finished product on your car. Nothing like a good old fashion glow up.
Thank you for taking the time to reply-
The offset of the originally “Penta” wheel centers displays as 21. It’s not clear still if this is the offset- could easily be solved with precise measure by machinist- or even a 3D scan.
These three piece staggered wheels are still 21 square offset? I would expect different offsets on a staggered three piece conversion-
Particularly an offset variance to allow for the 10.5 rear on a narrow body.
Who/where was the machine work performed etc. and also when?
What size tires were on the SEC- why were these removed and now being sold?
@Sonderschutz we tried the wheels on a nartow bodied sec and it fited perfectly without need for spacers
Before posting , the wheels balance is confirmed and tested, that we can guarantee
@AMG5pt4honestly i have no clear answer and strict answer concerning the stamp on the back of the wheel, what i can confirm is that those wheel are ronald original made in italy and they were installed on a c126 before modification , and the bolts hub is as per the original status, that i can confirme .
The et on these wheels are 21 after modification
Thank you
@ Seller, another request from @sonderschutz for runout measurement results for these wheels - we must know that these wheels are true for a confident bid. And, a good question regarding actual offsets as built.
As regards to 112/4 stamp on the back of a wheel center, your reply indicates that Ronal had a typographical error on the # of lug bolt holes when the original wheels were cast?
Once more-
What is the actual offset of the wheels as built?
These would have been 16” wheels and are now 17”.
Runout specs and road force balancing results with tires?
Please take the time to read through and respond to both our initial request as well as subsequent parties, detailed requests as to offset, etc.
The whole point of custom wheels in this application for us is to avoid spacers!
You have stated these require spacers for widebody use… what about factory narrow body SEC and SEL- need offsets!
@AMG5pt4the seal between the wheel halves is airtight , guaranteed.
The cap is originally a 5 holes wheel never been modified
Those wheel had wheels on just for air pressure inspection, but never been installed on a car or running in anyway
Nice looking wheels. Have a couple questions for the Seller.
Pic #37 shows the PCD (pitch circle diameter) to be 112/4. All modern MB wheels are PCD 112/5. The 5 stands for 5 bolt holes. How does a stamp of /4 show on a wheel center with 5 bolt holes?
Since these are custom made wheels, I assume each wheel is measured for trueness. What are the actual wheel runout results - both radial and lateral? Please post the wheel results for each wheel.
Have tires ever been mounted on these wheels? Is the seal between the wheel halves airtight?
I am building a 560sec widebody with all metal panels and every single piece of true amg tidbits I can find. These would be a cool premerger wheel but still allowing for 17" wheels. The offset has me concerned as the vehicle at Curated last month is not +21 all the way around. I am aware that someone could take less desirable square setup and make whatever is needed with a 3 piece design. I would love a good measurement from the front and rears with a straightedge across the rims to show the actual depth. While I am not an expert on these penta wheels the ones I have seen do have AMG cast into the front as well. I would love to understand if these are affiliated with AMG or just share the design from ronal. Awesome wheels for sure.
Are these actual period Penta converted to three piece wheels- if so by whom and when?
Are the stamped offsets the original offset prior to conversion or current?
Please provide detailed offset measurements/confirmation.
Additionally please confirm theee are not forged replicas such as-
