This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 600SEC Koenig Specials was imported from Japan to the United Kingdom by the current owner in 2021. The odometer shows 74k kilometers (~46k miles) since new with approximately 1000 miles having been added under current ownership. The coupe is finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) over Black Leather (261) and powered by an M120 6.0L V12 paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Factory features include heated multi-contour front seats, automatic climate control, infrared remote capabilities, a power sunroof, a ski bag, and a power rear roller blind. In addition, this coupe has been modified by Koenig to feature widebody fenders and quarter panels, custom-built O.Z. Futura wheels, front and rear air dams, an integrated spoiler, quad exhaust tips, and Koenig badging. The seller notes that thorough maintenance and mechanical servicing has been performed on the coupe since 2022 including a comprehensive engine rebuild and reseal, ignition service, suspension refresh, and more. This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 600SEC Koenig Specials is offered for sale by the current owner with service records, one key, importation papers, and a clean U.K. title.
This coupe is finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) and features a widebody conversion from Koenig Specials including fenders, quarter panels, front and rear air dams, and an integrated rear spoiler. Koenig Specials badging can be seen on the decklid, front fenders, and in place of the hood badge. Dual twin exhaust tips have been added with cutouts shown in the rear bumper and factory side marker lights are positioned in the front fenders. Some light rock chips can be seen on the nose of the car with detailed photos of the exterior available in the gallery.
Custom O.Z. Racing Futura wheels are featured wearing Yokohama on the front wheels and Michelin tires on the rear. The wheels measure 18x10 up front and 18x12 in the rear with subsequent tire sizes showing 295/30 and 335/30 respectively. The wheels show some light curb rash around the edges and display Koenig Specials center caps.
The cabin is trimmed in Black Leather (261) and accented by burl wood veneer on the center console, dashboard, door cards, and steering wheel. Interior features include heated multi-contour front seats, front and rear power headrests, power rear view mirrors, power adjustable steering wheel, power sunroof, and a power rear sunscreen. An aftermarket Carrozzeria head unit is shown and all power functions are reportedly functional.
The Koenig Specials gauge cluster shows each dial finished in white with red backlighting and jeweled markers are shown for each. Red backlighting is noted for the cluster and the analog odometer displays 74k kilometers (~46k miles).
The M120 V12 engine remains unmodified and boasts 390 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. The original 4-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels. The seller notes that thorough maintenance and mechanical servicing has been performed on the coupe since 2022 including a comprehensive engine rebuild and reseal, ignition service, suspension refresh, and a transmission rebuild.

For those seeking a more exclusive, more expensive, and more in-your-face option compared to the already opulent S-Class coupe in 1993 there were few options. Beyond the AMG's and the Brabus's there was the Koenig Specials route. It was far from subtle and more than 30 years later looks just as rad as when it was new. This specific example is offered by a collector in the U.K. who seems to have given this car a second lease through all the maintenance and servicing needed to keep this coupe on the road for anotehr 30 years. In terms of rarity, these widebody coupes are few and far between with stories of spottings ranging from the Bayshore route of Tokyo to the hidden garages of Dubai. The 140 chassis cars have grown immsensely popular in the current market and it appears the appreciation for over-engineered sedans and coupes isn't fading any time soon which includes these ultra-rare and ultra-extreme options.

@MBFahrer Yes the kits are available from Koenig, I have a set I bought in case I needed it, but the wheels and various other parts are not easy to find, if you can find them at all. Peter
180,000...dollars? Can't be...must be monopoly money. These bodykits are still available from Koenig last I heard. This car does not have an upgraded M120. Besides being relatively low miles there is nothing special about this car. The seller must be laughing all the way to the bank on this one. I'm lost for words.
@Polarized Well you got it to $180k :)
You're killing me here

@PeterQvortrup Thanks Peter.
@Brianpremium Hi Brian, the mileage on the W140 600SEL Koenig was quite low for the year, about 80K miles, however it had not been looked after at all for a few years before I bought it, so it needed an enormous amount of work to restore it to former glory. I stored it for a few years but decided earlier this year that I would never get round to getting it restored so I sold it to another UK based collector who intends to restore it. In a way I regret selling it, as I will probably never see another one. Peter
What’s the mileage on the w140 4 door ?

@Sergey Hi Sergey, again, it is the long wheel base W140, Koenig never did a SWB version as far as I know, at least that is what Walter Koenig told me a few years ago. Peter
@Sergey Hi Sergey, here is the link to that page, https://www.ecosia.org/images?q=mercedes%20600SEL%20koenig%20specials#id=368BE5D340BD25CB1FB3D9B016A7EC527F26FA01 Not many other pictures of the 600SEL W140 Koenig. You may like this one, https://silodrome.com/koenig-specials-mercedes-benz-560-sec/ That is mine as well, coming up for sale at some point. Have fun. Peter
@PeterQvortrup Thank you!! I didn't know they existed. Please could you share a link to that photo gallery. I'd like to see more pics if they exist. PS: on the pic is it the LWB or SWB car?
@Sergey Hi Sergey, yes they did, have a look at this picture, http://nast-sonderfahrzeuge.de/MB-Exotenforum/img/uploaded/image98261.jpg I bought the W140 Koenig Special on the picture in Japan in 2014, and sold it to a collector earlier this year, hope this helps. Peter
Did Koenig Specials made wide-body 4-door W140? So far I've only seen coupes and convertibles.

Looks like something fit for the Patina Collective.
Spent my whole morning drooling over this car, I'm absolutely in love! GLWS!
