@MBFahrerquestionable statement in many respects, as all the AMG Japan cars mostly have little to no provenance (I should know i have bought 15/16 over the past 10 years) and AMG in Germany are not particularly good or willing to answer questions about individual cars even the ones modified in Germany. At the end of the day all these cars are "just" modded W126s as you say, I own a standard 560SEC which has over 400,000 kms on the clock, I have owned until late 2019 a 560SEC 6.0 AMG Japan spec. so I have a pretty good basis for comparison and the standard car is an excellent, durable and enjoyable car to drive, what AMG and Koenig add is rarety, notoriety and performance, and a bit of “street cred” if you like, the Koenig considerably more than the AMG I have to add. For me the Koenig is the more fun car to drive, on track it takes corners in a way that the AMG cannot touch for example, it is just as fast as well and the super charger mod is extremely well done, especially compared to the twin turbo version of the same car. So there you are. Peter
@NotaSirI sold my 560SEC 6.0 AMG in 2019 for well over $250K it is a great car, but I would personally take the Koenig, it is more fun to drive, as fast, and much rarer. Peter
@emretirasHi, the W124 300 24 Valve could be ordered with either a 4 or a 5 speed gearbox, I have 4 W124s with a 5 speed gearbox and 9 with a 4 speed box, I used to also have a 5 speed manual, but a lorry decided to write that one off :-( it was my favourite as well. It may well be that what was available in the US at the time was different from what we could order here.
@RhinosbI have had several of these cars and they come with either white/clear or orange it depends on which country they were sold in, so I don't thonk there is a standard as such.
@RhinosbYou mean the indicators should be white or orange or??
@MBFahrer Hi, I thought this was explained in the text, but the car was first sent to AMG for the 3.4 conversion, the engine has the 957 code and then to Brabus for the wide body conversion, including the wheels, exhaust etc. whether it is a good condidate for a manual conversion is not a question I can answer, what I can say is that I have the parts to take it back to a genuine original AMG 300CE 3.4. Peter
@MBFahrer Yes the kits are available from Koenig, I have a set I bought in case I needed it, but the wheels and various other parts are not easy to find, if you can find them at all. Peter
@Brianpremium Hi Brian, the mileage on the W140 600SEL Koenig was quite low for the year, about 80K miles, however it had not been looked after at all for a few years before I bought it, so it needed an enormous amount of work to restore it to former glory. I stored it for a few years but decided earlier this year that I would never get round to getting it restored so I sold it to another UK based collector who intends to restore it. In a way I regret selling it, as I will probably never see another one. Peter
@SergeyHi Sergey, again, it is the long wheel base W140, Koenig never did a SWB version as far as I know, at least that is what Walter Koenig told me a few years ago. Peter
@Sergey Hi Sergey, here is the link to that page, https://www.ecosia.org/images?q=mercedes%20600SEL%20koenig%20specials#id=368BE5D340BD25CB1FB3D9B016A7EC527F26FA01 Not many other pictures of the 600SEL W140 Koenig. You may like this one, https://silodrome.com/koenig-specials-mercedes-benz-560-sec/ That is mine as well, coming up for sale at some point. Have fun. Peter
@Sergey Hi Sergey, yes they did, have a look at this picture, http://nast-sonderfahrzeuge.de/MB-Exotenforum/img/uploaded/image98261.jpg I bought the W140 Koenig Special on the picture in Japan in 2014, and sold it to a collector earlier this year, hope this helps. Peter
