This 1996 Mercedes-Benz S70 AMG is a Japanese-market example which came fully optioned and features extensive modifications from AMG. Finished in Onyx Gray Metallic (721) over Black Duotone Nappa Leather (511), power is provided by an AMG-built 7.0-liter M120 V12 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Factory equipment includes Parktronic parking sensors, a power tilt/slide glass sunroof, a four-place multicontour seating package with heated seats front and rear, self-leveling rear suspension, four-zone automatic climate control, a COMAND navigation system and a Bose audio system. AMG modifications consist of sculpted body work, a rear spoiler, square-tip exhaust pipes, an AMG gauge cluster and more. Now showing 202k km (~125k miles), this S70 AMG is offered for sale by MKB Motoren Manufaktur on behalf of the current owner in Abu Dhabi, UAE with a clean UAE title.
The exterior is finished in Onyx Gray Metallic (721) and features AMG body styling consisting of sculpted front and rear bumpers, sculpted side skirts, and a trunk-mounted spoiler. 7.0 AMG badges are mounted to the trunk lid with the standard V12 badges mounted to the quarter panels while square AMG chrome exhaust tips can be seen at the rear. Exterior equipment includes Parktronic parking sensors front and rear, power-adjustable door mirrors, headlamp wiper/washers, a power tilt/slide glass sunroof, dual-pane windows and soft-close doors. Scratches are visible on the underside of the front bumper along with a paint chip on the driver-side quarter panel. No signs of rust or damage are present on the body.
Staggered 19” AMG Monoblock Aero II wheels have been fitted and come wrapped in Marangoni M-Power tires up front measuring 265/30 and Michelin Pilot Sport tires rear measuring 295/30. Date codes on the tires read 2011 and 2008 respectively. Signs of dry rot are visible in the tires. A full-size spare and factory jack can be found mounted below the trunk floor.
The cabin is trimmed in Black Duotone Nappa Leather (511) with matching black AMG floor mats and a gray Alcantara headliner. Burl Walnut wood trim can be found lining the center console, dashboard, door panels, steering wheel and instrument cluster. AMG touches include a signed ashtray cover and chrome door locks. Interior features include four-zone automatic climate control, a four-place multicontour seating package with power-adjustable heated seats front and rear, a rear folding center console, rear side-window sunshades, a power rear-window sunshade, a Japanese-specific COMAND navigation system, a power-adjustable steering column, cruise control and an 11-speaker Bose audio system.
The wood/leather steering wheel frames AMG gauges including a 300-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The digital odometer currently shows 202k km, approximately 125k miles, from new.
This long-wheelbase W140 is powered by an M120 V12 whose displacement was increased to 7,055 cc and tuned to produce 489 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. A numbered AMG plaque has been fitted to the engine cover designating this car as number 47. The bottom of the engine block is stamped 7.0.
Underbody photos have been provided by the seller showing minimal surface rust along with an AMG exhaust system and AMG part numbers on the bottom of the body panels. The seller notes that the car will receive a full service from Mercedes-Benz of Abu Dhabi before being delivered to its new owner including an engine oil and oil filter change along with a complete inspection. This 1996 S70 AMG is now offered for sale by MKB Motoren Manufaktur on behalf of the current owner in Abu Dhabi, UAE with a clean UAE title.
An interior/exterior walk-around and startup video has been provided by the seller below.
With a growing desire from luxury buyers for more power and displacement, as well as the introduction of BMW’s M70 V12, Mercedes found it necessary to enter their bid into the 12-cylinder offerings with the M120-powered S600, CL600 and SL600. With 6.0-liters of displacement and 48 valves, the M120 produced a healthy 389 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, however, in the hands of AMG, and with an extra 1,000 cc of displacement, an additional 100 horsepower would be produced along with 531 lb-ft of torque. AMG would fit this specification of motor into all three 600’s including this long-wheelbase S600. Originally delivered to Japan, this S70 AMG was ultimately purchased by its current owner in 2020 and imported to the UAE. Finished in a desirable Onyx Gray Metallic and including every available option for the S600, this highly-unique S70 AMG presents a rare opportunity to purchase a true piece of AMG history.

Idk that's a lot of mileage! The quarter panels both have paintwork. From Dubai who knows if it's legit amg
Absolutely worth it, likely would have well cleared 100+ if it were in the US. Hopefully the bidders can get something worked out.

While I'm not buying anything today I'm excited to see where these end up. The recent video from the Patina folks woke these up in my mind.

Dream car, but sadly will never be able to get is smogged in CA.
Why is the front suspension so low? Are the shocks shot? Replacement shocks are nearly impossible to source as they are AMG specific. Do you have a photo of the front passenger door sill? Is there any evidence of prior rear end damage?

@galshkaki we can arrange this for you if you wish. For exact prices to delivery we need your location and whether you have your own customs agent to take over as CFR or want to have a full service delivery to your door.
Can this car be brought to the United States and can it be registered in the states ?? How much shipment will coast ??
