This 1997 Mercedes-Benz E420 Sport is finished in Black (040) over an Anthracite leather (201) interior, and power comes from a 4.2-liter M119 V8 engine paired with a five-speed transmission. Additional features include Sport package, automatic climate control, power adjustable front seats with memory, power windows, and a power sunroof with tilt function. Recent service includes a new drive belt, serpentine tensioner, and battery along with a new window regulator and door lock actuators. This E420 shows 72k miles on the odometer and is now offered by the selling dealer with factory literature, a clean Carfax report, two factory keys, and a clean Florida title.
The body is finished in Black (040) and comes with the Sport package which consists of AMG revised front air dam, fog lamps, extended side skirts, and a revised rear apron. Features also include a chrome grille, chrome trim around the beltline and bumper, and a glass sunroof with tilt function. All paint is believed to be original and the seller notes the tow hook cover is missing on the driver side of the front bumper. Imperfections are photographed in the gallery and include a small dent on the driver A-pillar and a scratch along the driverside C-pillar.
The optional 17” AMG Monoblock alloy wheels are wrapped in 235/45 Continental Sure Contact RX tires on each corner. A spare wheel and tire is located under the trunk floor while braking is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock (ABS) and acceleration skid control (ASR).
The cabin is trimmed in Anthracite leather (201) across the seats and door cards while Burl Walnut adorns the center console, dashboard, and door trim. Interior features include dual-zone automatic climate control, power adjustable front seats with memory, power windows, and a power sunroof with tilt function. Recent service includes recharged A/C system, new window regulator, and new door lock actuators in preparation for the sale. The seller was able to obtain the radio code from the dealer and reports the radio functions properly.
The leather steering wheel frames a VDO analog display with a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and indicators for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 72,448 miles, nearly all of which have been added by the original owner.
The 4.2-liter M119 V8 was rated at 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels. The seller reports the drive belt and serpentine tensioner have been replaced in preparation for sale along with a new battery.
The included Carfax report shows no accidents or damage, linear mileage updates, one owner, and 12 service history records since new. This E420 is now offered with factory literature, two factory keys, and a clean Florida title.
A walk around video has been provided by the seller below.
Do we really need to tell you how we feel about this W210? It’s a Black on Black example with only one owner from new and an M119 V8 firmly planted up front. Simply put, it's fantastic. When the W210 debuted, many customers opted in for the M119 over the M104 but rarely were any spec’d out like this one. The M119 was ultra-smooth and provided the perfect amount of muscle for this mid-size luxury sedan. The Sport Package makes a huge improvement to the curb appeal of the W210 offering the same AMG body kit as the E55 came equipped with. Keep in mind, the U.S. market didn't even get the E55 until 1999 so this E420 was the top tier W210 at the time. There’s no telling how many like this were made or which of those have been fortunate enough to stand the test of time but there's no question the number of examples in this good of condition is extremely low.

Love this spec as a prefacelift Sport model with the M119. A V8 W210 in 1997 was top of the line and still two years before the 55 came to the US. Plus a one owner too! GLWA!
-Car was low on refrigerant so we had it charged, and it blows very cold. -As we know, the evaporator has not been replaced but it’s very cheap part if you wanted to replace it -Cupholder lid was not closed properly -There’s no sag in the headliner whatsoever which is very rare for a w210
Seller: The listing states the A/C was recharged. Was it low on refrigerant? And is there any record of the evaporator being replaced? In the photos, the cupholder lid appears to be broken (or not closed) and the rear of the headliner may be loose. Can you confirm either of these? Thanks.

Pictures of the underbody have been added to the gallery.
Undercarriage photos will be available to see shortly
There is a connection point to attach the child car seat to so that should not be an issue for you.
Will check that out shortly and will get back to you

Can you confirm there is a connection point for a forward facing child seat tether under the rear seat head rest?
I now see what you are talking about. The carpet trim on rear passenger side is not tucked in the way the rear driver side trim is. Also by the looks of rear passenger side, it seems like the trim of the carpet is different then the other side. I have not modified anything about the car since its been in my possession so the previous owner may have replaced the trim of the carpet with something different. Photo #101 is clearly the way its supposed to be.
I am referring to the carpet being above the plastic trim in picture 99. Is there any indication of why this trim was removed? Is there any discoloration to the carpet under the floor mat or in that area? Thanks!
Hey the only thing I can think of is the passenger front seat carpet. This floor mat has a slight bend in it do to its age. The backseat carpets are in good condition.
Any idea why the rear passenger side carpet, near the floor trim, is out of place?
As I mentioned before the windows have been tinted by the previous owner, but I do not know the level or percentage of the tint.
What is the tint on the windows?

Additional photos have been added to the gallery and the seller notes the radio code was obtained from the MB dealer.
There is a small dimple just below where the windshield wipers are. There is a minor chip on rear bumper. Finally there is a small scratch on passenger back panel. Will send these close ups shortly.
Will take some close up pics. The car does have tints from previous owner but do not know the level of darkness. Also do not believe car has special springs.
Close-ups of all the paint chips/dents/imperfections would be helpful. What level is the tint? Do we know the issue with the radio? Did the Sport come with special springs? I thought it did but I may be wrong. Looks about 1" lower, could just be the Monoblocs.
