Included with the car is a set of amber corner markers and a chrome front grille. This 1998 S500 is now offered for sale by the current owner in Sunland, California with a clean Carfax report and a clean California title.
There are very few Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts who don’t appreciate the beauty, engineering, and overall quality of the legendary W140. Mercedes seemingly had an endless budget for development when creating the ultimate S-Class. This example is immediately attractive in timeless Black over Black, reminiscent of the W140 ad material and brochures that we used to pawn over. Adding to the appeal, the facelift body work and chrome factory wheels create the perfect period look. Showing just 71k miles, this S500 has decades of life remaining and still commands classic curbside attention today with superior quality compared to modern day products. From a value standpoint, there’s arguably not a more comfortable and reliable vehicle with style and appeal in spades.

@road2W140 the original steering wheel will be included in the price, the paint condition i would say 8/10, for the underneath pictures i have them ready with also some more videos, just waiting for MBmarket to send me a link so i can upload them.
How many keys come with?
@Balasan1 Would the original wheel by any chance be included in the price, as it is not mentioned in the ad? Also, when do you expect to have undercarriage pictures uploaded, as I would like to arrange for a pre-purchase inspection (if possible), once I see the underside. Finally, what is the overall condition of the paint? I had the case with a W124, where it looked great in photos, but on-site, when taking a closer look, the entire body was covered in microscratches, probably from automatic brush carwashes.
@road2W140 off course, the reason of the replacement was just to match the wood trims with the steering wheel, and yes i do have the original steering wheels in a absolutely great condition.
@Balasan1 Thank you for the quick reply! Can you tell me what happened to the original steering wheel? Why replace it and do you still have the old one?
@road2W140 hello, the car hasn’t been painted everything is original on it, i do have some records of the services that i did which includes oil change all the filter and spark plugs, but i am still waiting for more records from the previous owner, reason for the quick sale, is a property investment that I don’t want to pass on but i definitely will be a w140 owner again down the road.
Hello, Has the car ever been repainted? I see you bought the car on this website about 6 months ago (https://thembmarket.com/1998-mercedes-benz-s500-1) , why are you selling it now? Also, are there any service records / invoices for between 2018 and 2023?
@Kevinbriem no antenna and no flag mast, just helps with parking. diplomatic flag posts are attached to the fender and sit much higher. These parking masts were actually also available illuminated.
Wheel wells and undercarriage?
HI, does aircon blow cold? When was the last time the evaporator was changed? Sun roof operates correctly with no leaks? Any issues at all, particularly electrical?
Hello, and yes i took the photos, just waiting for them to upload tonight, i will go ahead and add the underneath photos all around, Thank you.
Someone is going ask, so it might as well be me. Front right bumper. At first I thought it was a flag mast for a diplomat of old. Maybe an antennae?
No photos of the underside; would you please take some photos showing the condition of the suspension and drivetrain and underbody? Especially in all the usual rust spots: wheel wells, under the trunk, etc. Also, is there any rust in the trunk under the spare wheel? Typically a photo with the spare wheel removed is included, too, since it's a known rust-spot on this era of Mercedes.
