This 2000 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG is finished in Black (040) over two-tone Black and Gray leather (528) upholstery, and power is provided by a 5.4-liter V8 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes xenon headlights, a glass sunroof, heated and ventilated multi-contour front seats, COMAND infotainment, cruise control, automatic climate control, a rear sunshade, and a Bose stereo. Recent services include a new battery, a new transmission conductor plate, and a transmission service. The car was sold new and first registered in Tennessee with the selling dealer noted as Mercedes-Benz of Knoxville. Subsequent registrations include Florida and Alabama before being acquired by the selling dealer in 2022. It now has 155k miles, and is offered with two keys, factory literature, an included carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
The exterior is finished in Black (040) and comes fitted with an AMG body kit including sculpted front and rear bumpers, side skirts, factory rolled fenders, and twin chrome exhaust outlets. Additional features include xenon headlights, headlight washers, power-adjustable mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, and a glass sunroof. The selling dealer notes previous paintwork on the hood and right front fender in addition to the right side doors. The included carfax affirms the paintwork due to a minor to moderate damage report from 2020. The glass is reportedly all original.
Aftermarket 20” wheels are wrapped in Falken tires up front and Nitto tires in the rear showing 2019 and 2020 date codes respectively. The wheels show light scuffs and fading.
The cabin features seats upholstered in two-tone Black and Gray AMG Exclusive leather (528) along with matching door panels and head rests. Birdseye maple trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels with minor fading shown. Options and amenities include heated and ventilated multi-contour front seats, COMAND infotainment with Bose sound, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power rear-window sunshade, and a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer. The seller notes the heated and ventilated seats are inoperational and the COMAND screen shows wear but functions well.
The multifunction steering wheel is covered in two-tone leather and frames an AMG-branded 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer, along with gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 155k miles and shows all functioning pixels in the digital ambient temperature gauge and clock. The seller notes the SRS light is illuminated on the cluster.
The naturally aspirated 5.4-liter M113 V8 produced 349 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission and additional underbody photos are viewable in the gallery below. Recent services include a new battery, a new transmission conductor plate, and a transmission service.
The Carfax report shows linear mileage updates, the aforementioned accident report, and service history in Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama with multiple dealers listed. This E55 AMG is now offered with two keys, factory literature, an included carfax report, and a clean Florida.

With limited production numbers, the W210 E55 AMG has become a rare commodity. Enthusiasts today are searching for the perfect car that still maintains a more connected, analog feel while providing speed, style, reliability, and modern day creature comforts. If that isn’t the W210 AMG then we don’t know what is. Many of the surviving examples on the market are well beyond 200k miles and in most of those cases still running strong. This particular E55 has managed to average an appropriate amount of miles since new and seems to be one of the more heavily optioned cars we've seen. A little polish and TLC will take this example from daily driver to Cars and Coffee show-stopper. Back in its day, the E55 was able to compete from a performance standpoint with the likes of the Porsche 911 and Chevrolet Corvette. The only difference was seating for 5 and a comfy, luxurious cabin fit for long trips or the daily commute. The W210 AMG is no longer a secret; it’s officially a sought after collectible and a must have for any Mercedes enthusiast.

@Shenanigans Thanks! Hopefully, it won't be too much of a bother to sort it all out. This will be an entertaining replacement for my tastefully modified W140, which I miss dearly (recently totaled courtesy of some inattentive old codger).
Nice buy, I missed the heated and vented seats weren’t working when I first saw it. I don’t know enough about the 210 to have factored the repair cost accurately. I know it’s really rare but that’s about it.

@TheDanMan I agree with you. This car also fundamentally (engine, transmission, suspension) feels good and solid and I think it would make a long journey without issues, but you have to keep the risks in mind before such trip.
@TheDanMan Thanks...I have a small fleet of MB's and love the older ones the best. Not being there to see it first hand, I just wanted the owner opinion of the car but respect yours as well! My collection is a split of MB's & Cadillac's in what I call a "Unicorn" collection, having a bunch of cars not always kept.
I’ve owned 4 of these and taken them across country multiple times without a single problem. The newer models with turbos, superchargers, air suspension, and a ton of computers would be worth worrying about but I think this is one of the best cars ever built. There’s M113s out there with over 400k miles still going strong!
@ArmyGuy63 I don't see a reason why the car would not make it to Arizona, but in my opinion, it is always somewhat risky to drive an older car that you don't know across country. I have seen much newer cars with much lesser miles break down.
Get a set of proper Monoblocks on this car and you have an absolute winner! Then sell these wheels and pocket the cash, totally ruins the aesthetic but thankfully an easy fix.
IF I bid and win this lovely lady, I would fly out there and drive it back to AZ as opposed to shipping it. What are your thoughts on a road trip of 2200 miles?
Since the listing is ending soon, I just wanted to say a few things about the car because the MB Market description doesn’t do the justice. Despite the higher miles, the car is actually very presentable and very clean. The body looks all straight and the paint is nice. Even the passenger side where it was damaged, looks like the repairs were done to high standards. BTW, the right doors don’t appear to have been replaced; they were just repaired so the damage could not have been too extensive. The interior is virtually with no flaws with the exception of some wood grain fading and minor cracking. The headliner looks to have been replaced at some point. Mechanically, it is solid and runs strong. It would probably drive nicer with proper wheel size but at least the tires are almost new all around and they won’t need replacement for some time. Front brakes look to have been just replaced including OEM rotors. Overall, based on the cosmetics and how it runs, I would assume the prior owner took good care of it and kept it serviced.
@Cornell89 yes, the buyer will get 30-day tag. Unfortunately, we didn't dig in into the SRS issue, althought I think we had it scanned at some point and it came out to be driver's side sensor open circuit or short to ground, not 100% sure.
Can you provide a temp tag for an out-of-state buyer? Also, CarFax indicates a MB dealer did a maintenance inspection in June 2022 - was any diagnosis of the SRS error provided?
@Obie1luv you may be correct. If I remember correctly it's been a Florida car and it's common for upper wood grain pieces to be lighter because they are exposed to sun more and have tendency to fading. I remember having a Lexus with the same pattern. No, I don't have the original monoblocks.
The horizontal center console wood trim around the gear selector and window switches looks to be lighter in color compared to the rest of the wood trim. Is that actually the case? Also, I assume the original AMG monoblocks are not included?
