This 2001 Mercedes-Benz ML55 AMG was sold new in Glendale, California where it remained under the first three owners until 2024 when it was acquired by the current selling dealer. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) over Black Exclusive leather (561A), power is provided by a 5.4-liter V8 driving all four wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes xenon headlamps, 18″ AMG wheels, factory AMG bodykit, power-adjustable heated front seats, cruise control, Bose audio, and a lockable safe located beneath the front passenger seat. The most recent service was conducted at Mercedes-Benz Henderson which included front/rear brake pads and rotors. The current dealer installed a new transmission connector in preparation for the sale. This ML55 AMG has 65k miles and is now offered by the selling dealer out of Darien, Wisconsin with a spare tire and cover, original AMG floor mats, car cover, original paint, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The truck is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and is equipped with an AMG body kit consisting of revised bumpers, side skirts, and wheel arch flares. Additional exterior features include fog lights, xenon headlamps with washers, a power sunroof, roof rails, and a factory exhaust with dual AMG-stamped outlets. The seller notes all original paint on this W163. The headlights are both original and remain clear with no signs of oxidation. The seller notes a small spot of touchup on the rear bumper shown in the gallery. Original glass is photographed throughout.
Factory five-spoke 18″ AMG wheels wear Radar Dimax AS-6 tires measuring 255/60 on all four corners and show 2021 date codes. Braking is provided by factory painted red calipers clamping discs at all four corners. The factory spare wheel and tire are located in the rear cargo space along with the cover. Mercedes-Benz Henderson did a big brake service on the truck in October of 2024 which included front and rear brake pads/rotors.
The cabin features seats upholstered in Black Exclusive leather (561A) along with matching door panels and carpets. Ebony burl walnut wood veneer accents the center console, doors, and steering wheel. Equipment includes power-adjustable heated front seats, driver’s seat memory, cruise control, air conditioning, Bose audio, and a lockable safe located beneath the front passenger seat. All front and rear headrests are included and the rear cargo area is equipped with the factory spare tire and cover. The original floor mats included are embroidered with ML55 AMG. All electronics reportedly function as designed including A/C and heat.
The wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel frames white instrumentation consisting of an AMG-branded 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Digital readouts for outside temperature and time are located on each side with all pixels in working order. The digital odometer shows just over 64k miles with linear Carfax mileage pings throughout the car’s history.
The twin-spark 5.4-liter M113 V8 produced 342 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. The most recent service in preparation for the sale includes a new transmission connector. A new battery from Mercedes-Benz was installed with the brake service. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below detailing the condition of the suspension components and also show no signs of corrosion.
The Carfax report lists 15 service history records and registration in California its whole life. This ML55 has 65k miles and is now offered by the selling dealer with a spare tire and cover, car cover, original embroidered AMG floor mats, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The W163 is a P38 Land Rover without all of the stormy British headache. The GMC Typhoon was arguably the first “sports SUV” that rocked a hot engine stuffed in a body-on-frame chassis, but had no off-roading pedigree – it was purely a street truck. Mercedes-Benz then came out with the ML55 AMG which could crawl in the Sahara while also blasting down the Autobahn at a limited 155-MPH the very next day. Thus began the battle of supremacy of fast off-road capable SUVs out of Germany as BMW stuffed their 4.6-liter V8 in the X5 a year later. What’s important to note about this Brilliant Silver ML55 AMG is the low mileage, condition, and underside cleanliness. This car appears to have been garage kept by looking at the wood and undamaged metallic paint. The new brakes certainly help out too since that’s an expensive service to do, even if you tackle it yourself in the driveway. The ML55 AMG is a bargain even as they are getting harder and harder to find in this kind of condition. M113 AMG cars spiked during the COVID market and have since cooled down a bit making them great buys right now as we’re positive they are going to skyrocket soon since their numbers are shrinking every day. All it takes is Magnus Walker to call them the next big thing or for Seinfeld to make a few positive remarks on these cars and buh-bye, there goes their bargain entry prices. Plus, every single one of us at The MB Market own AMG M113s. What does that say about these cars?

@highintheskies. Sunroof operates as it should. No leaks of any kind. The stereo including CD changer etc all works as it should. I have 1 key however the previous owner said they will be sending the other one to me when they go back to their vacation home. Thank you!
Good day and thank you for the listing. A couple questions: Sunroof operates properly with no leaks? Stereo, cd/tapedeck, speakers functioning? 2 key/fobs? Thanks again.
@UKCHAP. Window switches work as they should. No shudder or binding at full lock. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Good evening, Two questions: How are the windows switches in the center console, it’s very common for them to fail. Also, is there any shudder with the transfer case when turning the steering wheel to full lock left and right like doing a circle?

Amazing example!
@zoccierampqt. I love these W163s. I grew up in the back of one and have fond memories of them. 1. No oil leaks incline rear main, front seal, valve covers etc. 2. AC works as it should. 3. All the actuators work as they should. Even the quarter windows work still. 4). No electric issues. 5). No check engine light or abs light. No light of any kind. We also verified functionality of the low range. This is the nicest one we have had without question!

Hello. Truly amazed on how you manage to collect all the ML55 and Cayenne Diesels. Few questions 1) Any engine oil leaks - rear seal, front seal or other gaskets? 2) AC works? 3) All door actuators work? 4) Any electric issues? 5) Check engine light / ABS light or any other lights on the dash or stored codes?

@Jnasty. The car is in Darien Wisconsin as it states under "location". The transmission connector was seeping fluid. It is EXTREMELY common on these 5-speed Automatics on all Benzes. It is a very quick and easy fix. There are NO underlying issues. Shifts as it should, and these are very reliable transmissions. Please let me know if you gave any other questions!
@GenevaMotorCars - is the car in WI, NV or CA? Also, what's a "transmission connector?" And what was the underlying issue? Lastly, any known needs or open service items?
