@mknmike Thank you. On Sunday I sent you a message on instagram. Here’s my email address [email protected].
Congrats on the sale. Want to talk about that dual mass flywheel now? Thanks! mknMike
@Benz500 Congratulations, good to see you pumped! I hope it brings you many years of joyful ownership and smiles. You should be receiving an email from MBMarket shortly with my contact information. Talk to you soon!
Very cool, and seems well built. Had an '86 300TE and a '95 E320 wagon; both hit 300,000 miles and were sold to family members. The '86 would do almost 140 mph, but the '95 was governed. Wish I had done this transmission swap to the '95. Enjoy!
@th_boone So true-I really love this wagon and will own another someday. But I recently received new work orders and just couldn't bring myself to put another 20,000+ miles yearly on it driving up and down the Florida interstate in rush hour. It deserves better!
Great wagon. Love seeing one with real driven (6-figure) mileage getting some well deserved love at auction.
@Benz500 Great win, congratulations mate!
Hell yeah Unreal car Thank you thank you

@Reallygoodband Hey Chris, thanks for the questions! The A/C blows cold both front and rear. Picture 131 is from June 2023 when I had the system converted to R134A—it’s been excellent ever since. Cruise control is fully functional and I use it regularly. I do have the original Gullideckel wheels, but they’ll need new tires. If the winning bidder is interested in them, I’m sure we can work out a deal.
@mknmike I do still have the original dual-mass flywheel, but I’m holding onto all the old parts until the auction ends.
Hello, How is the AC? How is the AC in the rear? (Could be driving it home). Does it have functioning cruise control? Will the original wheels be included in the sale? Thank you. -Chris
Oh. How is the first gear take off with the original 2.65 diff? Or was that swapped. RPMs must be real low at highway speeds. Right? Someone had recommended maybe getting a higher diff ratio (and then speedometer too) from a 260e. I haven’t grabbed one of those (yet). If it’s plenty quick and highway revs are ok in OD, than I’d just keep the stock diff for simplicity.
@Stan_Lution Thank you. Do you still have the dual mass? For sale? I don’t use instagram much, but am @mercwheels
@mknmike Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. The transmission, flywheel, and driveshaft originally came from a 300D parts that were shipped to me from Canada. The flywheel was upgraded to a single-mass setup from Kangaroo’s Team. Originally, it was a dual-mass. If you ever need help with your swap or want to chat more about it, feel free to reach out. You can message me on Instagram: @stanlution.
I wonder what the transmission, flywheel and drive shaft came from. I’ve got a 190e 5-speed sitting on the passenger floor of my white w palomino 1992 300te. I think I’d have to take the flywheel from my 1986 300sel 5-speed to be able to put the package together with the 260e drive shaft and w201 pedals. There’s always more work than expected. So kudos to the seller for making one of my dreams happen.
@seller; thank you

Yes, what I had envisioned…..a subtle “flare” w/o metal fabrication. Any work necessary “create finish line “ fender/body joint..?…filler, paint touch up? Thx
@300GWRO No problem at all—happy to explain! The AMG fender spacer kit includes thin shims that go between the fender and the body to push the fender out slightly. This gives a bit more clearance for wider AMG wheels without needing any bodywork. It’s a subtle mod that AMG actually used back in the day to help with fitment and give the car a wider stance.
@Seller: "AMG fender spacer kit....accommodate larger AMG wheels"...I know what this mean (result).......yet what was involved to "accommodate"..? What is "fender spacer kit"...metal work , wheel spacers/offsets..? Apologies for being so "uninformed"...thx

Beautiful S124. Love seeing and reading about the 5sp. Really wish I had one in one of my 124s.. one day perhaps.
@christiano 1. Yes, I do have the original Gullideckel wheels. 2. The ride is firm but compliant. It’s running Koni struts up front with adjustable rebound, so you can fine-tune the feel to your preference. 3. There’s no rubbing on the outer fender lips (which are not rolled), but it does occasionally contact the inner liner on larger dips. 4. The exhaust and intake are completely stock and unmodified.
$5,124 bid placed by @ChompSticks
Beautiful car, a few questions 1) Do you have the stock wheels 2) Is the ride stiffer or is there any clunks from lowering the vehicle 3) Any rubbing due to the larger wheels 4) Has the exhaust/intake been modified such that it couldn't be registered in California?
@300GWRO Thanks for the kind words! When I bought this 300TE, I honestly never thought I’d sell it. It’s been a labor of love.

Very handsome & apparently well maintained 300TE....with a 5 spd swap no less. Seller, looks as though you have done the majority of service etc.....transmission swap too?. Nice job !
