This 2018 Mercedes-Benz E400 4Matic Wagon was sold new to its first owner by Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan before being purchased Certified Pre-Owned by its current owner in 2021. Finished in Piedmont Green Metallic (997) over Black Nappa Leather (801), power is provided by a 3.0-liter biturbo V6 mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels. Equipment includes active multicontour heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a panorama sunroof, Keyless-Go, Air Body Control air suspension, LED headlights with adaptive highbeam assist, a head-up display, Distronic cruise control with Active Steering Assist, a power tailgate, a rear-facing third row and a stealth trailer hitch. Recent maintenance includes a service “B”, new rear pads and rotors and a transmission service. Now showing 48k miles, this E400 Wagon is offered for sale by the current owner with the remaining balance of the CPO warranty, both keys, a clean two-owner Carfax report and a clean Vermont title.
This E-Class wagon is finished in Piedmont Green Metallic (997) and features chrome trim, chrome roof rails and a Mercedes star hood ornament. Exterior equipment includes LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist, rain sensing wipers, a power tailgate with Hands-Free Access, a panorama sunroof, a Surround View camera system with Active Parking Assist, Keyless-Go, Distronic cruise control with Active Steering Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist. The body has received a full ceramic coat along with 3M PPF over the front bumper, hood and headlights. The PPF is said to not have been professionally installed and shows some imperfections. The seller believes that the rear bumper has received touch-up work under prior ownership. Minor scratches on the driver-side door sill are noted. A removable Stealth Hitches trailer hitch has been added to the car and is rated for 4500 lbs.
The 18” twin five-spoke alloy wheels wear a silver finish and show no signs of curb rash or damage. The seller replaced the original Goodyear run flat tires with a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus tires measuring 245/45 on all four corners with 2021 date codes. The original Goodyear tires are included with the sale along with a space-saver spare tire and jack. Air Body Control suspension offers both adjustable ride height and stiffness. Recent maintenance included a new set rear pads and rotors.
The cabin is finished in Black Nappa Leather (801) and features black WeatherTech floor mats, a gray headliner and Natural Grain Brown Ash wood trim which lines the center console, dashboard and door panels. Both front seats are heated and ventilated with active multicontour adjustment and massage functions. Interior appointments include a 12.3” COMAND display, 64-color ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel, heated armrest, rear side-window blinds, Burmester surround sound, a head-up display, wireless charging and a folding rear-facing bench seat. Split-folding second-row seats and a removable cargo offer a large loading area.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel fronts a 12.3” digital instrument cluster and can be configured to show various vehicle information including trip meters, service information and multimedia functions. The digital odometer currently shows 48k miles from new with 11k added by the current owner in the past two years.
This S213 is powered by a 3.0-liter biturbo V6 which is rated for 329 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. Recent maintenance included a service “B” with an engine oil and oil filter change as well as a transmission fluid and filter change. Service documents from current ownership are included in the photo gallery with dealer service history reported on the Carfax from new.
The Carfax report shows two owners along with linear mileage updates and no accidents or damage reports. The car was purchased Certified Pre-Owned by the current owner in June 2021. The CPO warranty is valid through March 2025 and will be transferred to the new owner. This 2018 E400 Wagon is now offered for sale by the current owner in Burlington, Vermont with both keys, the original manufacturer’s literature, the original floor mats, a clean two-owner Carfax report and a clean Vermont title in the seller’s name.
The E-Class has always been the sweet spot for Mercedes ownership - offering luxury, manageable size and all the options one can afford to fit when checking boxes at the dealer. The original owner of this Piedmont Green wagon took no quarter when adding up all the goodies for his new toy; and now you have the option to take advantage. With 4Matic all wheel drive, a biturbo V6 and every bit of luxury and tech one could want, this becomes pretty much the perfect daily wagon for someone who wants to fly under the radar and still have all the luxuries found in the bigger, more flashy S-Class examples. With extensive service and nearly two years of remaining CPO warranty, this E-Class wagon is a no-brainer for anyone looking for a new addition to their garage.

I also want to clarify what is seen in the very last picture above, with the tailgate open, just before "The MB Market Insights" - it looks like dirt, or bubbling, or something worse next to the rubber gasket. That is actually 3M PPF that I had leftover, applied to the bumper area to keep it scratch free, but it's bubbling right next to the gasket. Its easy enough to remove PPF though.
I want to note that during a test drive with a potential bidder today, in bright sunlight we saw a slight crack in the center touchpad controller. I have pictures of it in bright sun, versus ordinary light, as well as a PDF of a technical service bulletin from Mercedes (again, this car is covered under CPO extended warranty until 2025) Crack in Sun: https://drive.google.com/file/d/12ZLJ4CgStGiOThqdQ2u0ZQKGe47wrdNm/view?usp=drive_link Normal view: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y3s-hAcY-PZdd7fP0l1wb_idb1qkJoLp/view?usp=drive_link PDF of Mercedes Service Bulletin: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vaCxYal2RG_MhPDcM7a-keXg032DqX7g/view?usp=drive_link I was not aware of this crack until today, when the full sun lit it up. Apparently it's something that shows up during hot temperatures, but I have not discussed with my local dealership. I saw one replacement guide here: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/2014+2015+2016+2017+2018+2019+2020+Mercedes-Benz+C-Class+W205+COMAND+Centre-Dial+Touchpad+Replacement/137292

@GoBoGo it is a deep green in bright light, but in overcast conditions it is darker. This photo shows it well though: https://thembmarket.com/2018-mercedes-benz-e400-wagon-1#close
This is a beautiful car--only wish there were 'less dark' exterior photos. You can see the beauty of the color in the close-up photos but overall it looks darker than it truly is (my 2 cents from the peanut gallery). I wish!
@Dropthehammer No alignment issues. I happened to have a complete set of Continentals from another car in my fleet, and decided to move them over when I upgraded the other car's wheels and tires. I'm not a huge fan of run-flat/mobility tires, but I still have the original Goodyear "mobility" tires and they are in great condition. There would be no need for tire swapping if I hadn't had that other car and an opportunity to do so.
Why has it had two full sets of tires in just over 11,386 miles? Does it have alignment issues?
@cmyk553 CPO Extended expires March 2025 and has unlimited miles

@sean_kelly Perfect, Thank you!
@UncleScrooge69 Thank you. It's quite a striking color in bright sun! Checkout this collection of undercarriage photos I took when it was up on my lift. Beautiful Wagon - Can you post some undercarriage pictures taken from below that show the chassis and suspension components in detail? It will likely require a lift. - Thank you

We are having lots of rain here in Vermont, so the weather is not ideal for taking more pictures, but if anyone wants more detail about something, let me know, so that I can take advantage of sun when/if it appears.

We all want an AMG wagon bomber as a family/daily upscale truckster. This is just so much a better choice for that though. 👍🏼 GLWS

Hate VT. Spent 18months in S. woodstock. Talk about back country! Need 4WD to get anywhere in mud season. Again: who the hells want to live there?
@gbouton My partner really wanted a BMW X5, so we ordered one, but it wasn't built to our order, and we rejected it. I found this lovely wagon a week later, and neither one of us talked about the X5 since. Now, if Mercedes would just make a pickup...
@sean_kelly thank you, that looks pretty clean to me! Hopefully that's helpful for any others potential bidders as well. Now I just have to convince my wife a used wagon is better then a new SUV 😁
note that all the previous chassis (W212) has a recall on the subframe and if it has corrosion it'll be replaced by your local dealer- within 15 years I believe. This recall does not extend to this chassis (W213) iirc.
@gbouton I took off the left rear wheel, and made a video, and captured a few more photos for you and posted here (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1LCv0MM9PQFlyWXTNERjNO2auqY_iqSnU?usp=sharing) The fender liner covers the end of the subframe nicely, and since I don't live on a dirt road, it's free of sand, gravel or mud. Hope that helps!

@gbouton Wow - that video made me shudder! I have some photos that I took when I was preparing the car for sale, that you can see on a shared folder (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1LCv0MM9PQFlyWXTNERjNO2auqY_iqSnU?usp=sharing) , but it looks like I might have to get the wheel off to see more detail. I don't recall what the subframe design is now on these models, and whether it has a big mud-trapping hole.
$5,000 bid placed by @Ilovebigtoys
Given the northeast ownership history, would it be possible to get a picture or video of the rear subframe mount--just behind the rear wheel as this video explains? https://youtu.be/B1j7xSJFutc The video is for a w212, but I believe it should be nearly the same for w213's. Should be able to do it without removing the wheel.

@cm3esquire long drives are so much easier, with the auto-steering and adaptive cruise, and the massaging seats engaged. I also like the "active" seats that provide a gentle squeeze around corners
Beautiful wagon. I have the 2019 model of this body style. It is an amazing drive, just a beast on the highway and curvy roads. The technological advances on the modern wagons are unbelievable.
The tires you see in one of the photos with the red covers are the 4 mounted Michelin snow tires on Mercedes wheels with TPMS. Very little use. Those are available, as are the 4 original very low mileage Goodyear runflats.
for notes paint code 997u is also known as "Kallait Blue Metallic"/"Callaite green metalic" and is a more blue green than other greens from the same era. I've owned several Mercedes in green and they are beautiful as is this one. My personal favorite is (2005)code 185 (jade metallic black effect)and (2004) 816 everest green effect.
$1,000 bid placed by @ckhoskins
@gbouton No apologies necessary. Absolutely has support for Apple Carplay, both wired, and wireless. I've also enjoyed the hotspot, when traveling, so that I can use the laptop while on the road. It's also easy to send an address to the car, through the phone app, so that you can just jump in and start navigating there.
sorry...one more question! As a 2018 I believe this has support for Apple CarPlay, right?
@gbouton It does include wiring. They have a clever magnet that clips the wires up out of the way. It is a 4 pin connector, with a cap that covers it and keeps it clean.
Nicely optioned! Does the stealth hitch setup include trailer wiring? If so, is it flat 4 or round 7 pin connection?
@morgej Yes, I have window sticker from Moroney Labels, and a build sheet derived from the VIN from this site: https://www.mbdecoder.com/ - let me see if we can add to gallery.
Can you get a copy of the Build Sheet or window sticker uploaded to the gallery?
This is a lovely looking wagon!
Hello, I want to introduce myself as the seller. This is my first auction, but I'll do my best to answer all your questions. We are reluctantly selling this car, after a long search to acquire it, only because we are relocating, and need a truck. This car has absolutely set a standard in my mind for what a comfortable long trip car should be, with a great ride, smart and accurate adaptive cruise and lane keeping, and the best massaging seats I've ever experienced. I will likely miss the seats the most, followed by the incredibly capable headlight system. What has surprised me most is how astonished some people are at the amount of cargo room! I am happy to have someone visit and test drive the car, or have a technician check it out while it's for sale. I also want to note that I travel to Boston, Connecticut, and Florida frequently, so there may even be an option for delivery?
