This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SEC was initially ordered via the S&G Automobil branch in Germany, the worlds oldest authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. It was brought to the U.S. as a gray market import in 1985 and shows just 49k miles on the odometer. Finished in Classic White (737) over Palomino Leather (274), power is provided by a 5.0-liter M117 V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment and features include authentic 16” AMG Penta wheels, authentic AMG front and rear bumpers, side skirts, an AMG steering wheel by Italvolante, electrically adjustable and heated front seats, a power sunroof, and automatic climate control. The current owner and dealer acquired the car in February 2026. Since acquisition, it received a rebuilt CIS distributor, a new fuel filter, a new fuel accumulator, a brake fluid flush, a new washer fluid reservoir, new drive belts, all new ball joints, a power steering flush, and an oil service. This 500SEC is now offered for sale by the selling dealer in Geneva, Wisconsin with a clean Florida title.
The exterior is finished in Classic White (737) and features AMG bumpers front and rear, along with sculpted AMG side skirts and a trunk mounted spoiler, all of which were installed in Germany prior to export in 1985 and show AMG stamps. Additionally, this car still wears European-market headlamps and bumpers. The 2022 paint work included recreating the AMG-specific monochromatic paint job that was applied in-period. Exterior features include a power sliding sunroof, an automatic antenna, a power adjustable passenger side mirror and headlamp wiper/washers.
Rare polished 16” AMG Penta wheels feature original premerger AMG center caps and come fitted with new Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 tires measuring 225/50 all around with 2023 date codes. Exterior stamps on the wheels show AMG logos and specs.
The cabin is trimmed in Palomino Leather (274) with Burl Walnut wood trim lining the center console, gearshift, dashboard and door panels. The front seats are power adjustable and heated with working seat belt extenders. An Italvolanti AMG steering wheel is fitted along with extended AMG wood trim on the doors. The seller notes visible wear on the leather, carpets, and wood veneer along with a slightly falling headliner over the rear. Black and Caramel Cocomats have been added by the selling dealer for all four seats.
An authentic Italvolanti AMG steering wheel fronts gauges including a 160-mph speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, fuel economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer reads just over 49k miles and the cluster was federalized when the car was imported in 1985.
This C126 is powered by a 5.0-liter M117 V8 which is factory rated at 228 horsepower and 299 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission with the help of a limited-slip differential. Under the owning dealer’s care, this SEC has received a rebuilt CIS distributor, a new fuel filter, a new fuel accumulator, a brake fluid flush, a new washer fluid reservoir, new drive belts, all new ball joints, a power steering flush, and an oil service.
The tag in the driver doorjam shows the car was imported to the U.S. and federalized in May 1985. This 500SEC is now offered for sale by the selling dealer in Geneva, Wisconsin with a clean Florida title.

Great car! Do you have period correct Becker radio? AC works? I noticed marks (look like water marks) on the headliner near the passenger door. Are those removable? Was the AMG cosmetic package done by AMG in period? Or is this a tribute car? Any documentation?$9,250 bid placed by @Centurion

That sure is pretty. The 500 coupe is the best 126 platform and 117 of this era a great motor especially in Euro form. What's the cars story? Not many of these were produced.
