The exterior is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and features Xenon headlamps with wiper/washers, a power tilt/slide glass sunroof, remote central locking with a remote opening trunk, dual-pane windows, rain-sensing wipers and power-adjustable side mirrors. The exterior is in good condition showing no signs of body damage or rust and the paint is believed to be original. Minor scratches can be seen on the passenger fender and mirror covers with fading clear coat visible above the windshield.
19” AMG Monoblock wheels have been fitted and wear mixed tires all measuring 255/40. The wheels are in good condition with only the rear driver-side wheel showing signs of curb rash. The seller reports that H&R lowering springs have been fitted to the vehicle. Self-leveling rear suspension is standard equipment along with anti-lock disc brakes and ASR slip control. A spare tire can be found mounted below the trunk floor.
The cabin is trimmed in Gray Leather (268) with contrasting black leather found on the upper dashboard and door panels and matching gray carpets and floor mats. Burl Walnut wood trim lines the center console, dashboard and door panels. Hairline cracks can be seen in the center console wood around the shifter. Both front and rear seats are heated with the front seats providing 12-way power adjustability and three-position memory. Additional amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a power tilt/telescope steering column, a power-adjustable auto-dimming rear view mirror and an 11-speaker Bose audio system. The driver seat bottom is torn and shows signs of wear on the bolster.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer along with a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. Digital instrumentation includes an outside temperature sensor and a digital odometer which currently reads 157k miles.
This W140 is powered by a 5.0-liter M119 V8 which produces 315 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes that the car has no leaks and recently passed California Smog. The cam oiler tubes are reportedly in need of replacement.
The Carfax report shows California registration under three owners from new with linear mileage updates and no accidents or damage reports. This S500 is now being offered for sale by the current owner in San Clemente, California with a clean Carfax report and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
An interior and exterior walk-around video has been provided by the seller below.
For many, the W140 S-Class represents the peak of Sacco-era legendary Mercedes design and construction. After over a billion dollars in development, the W140 became perhaps the most sought-after and well-loved Mercedes globally; used by heads of state and diplomatic envoys even today across the world. Exterior styling is reminiscent of the late 80’s combined with cutting edge technology and a fresh perspective intended to welcome the 90’s with open arms and minds. Sacco designed the perfect sedan with the W140 which provided ultimate comfort in a package that exudes class from every angle. This later model features a healthy list of equipment including remote central locking, heated seats and self-leveling rear suspension. The 19" AMG Monoblock wheels are highly valuable and rare all on their own in today's market and give this W140 the perfect stance. Showing California history from new, this S500 is sure to be an excellent driver ready to provide its lucky new owner with many more supremely comfortable miles to come.

Square set of Front wheels Forgot to mention also comes with stock 16 inch wheels without tires I also could swap out these wheels for a staggered set that need the lips to be re-lathed and new tires.
Are the wheels staggered?

Oh how I really miss my w140!! If the winning bidder is interested, I have complete set of the OG aluminum cam oiler tubes and all the other parts involved when replacing them. I had planned to do that job on my last w140, but sadly it was totaled before I got around to it.
I feel this is one of the best years for the w140. I’ve owned early, middle, and last generations. The 5.0 displacement is the ideal way to go. Period. Plenty of low end torque coupled with the newer 5 speed Transmission, much more responsive power delivery. No wiring harness issues. Better ignition system. These designs make it much more drivable and reliable than the previous years. This car, in my opinion, looks so nice due to the rare 19 inch AMG Monoblock wheels and the H&R spring kit. It’s like a lady wearing sneakers vs. high heels. What a difference!
Had one new. Best car ever. Best stereo you’ve ever heard. (4 subwoofers each handle a different frequency, play Techmaster P.E.B. Hologram Bass to experience.) The 140 was just the absolute pinnacle of engineered S class. (Owned new: 123, 126, 140, 222 and now EQS580 generations.) This car was so over-engineered, the door handles and hinges were designed to be able to hold a 200 lbs. man hanging off a cliff by the door handle alone. If you enjoy S-classes, you owe it to yourself to know a 140.
