The 18” AMG Monoblock wheels come fitted with a set of Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 tires which measure 245/40 front and 275/35 rear showing 2018 date codes. All four wheels were refinished by the seller with no signs of rash or damage on the wheels. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk along with the original tool kit and factory jack.

Linear mileage updates are shown with no accidents or damage reports present on the Carfax. This 1998 SL500 Sport is now offered for sale by the selling dealer in Agoura Hills, California with the original manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report and a clean California title.
Videos showing a walkaround, cold start and top operation have been provided by the seller below.
Introduced in 1989, the R129 SL was a significant update when compared with the outgoing R107, bringing both new styling and technology which had the privilege of nearly two decades of advancement. The SL500 was offered with the highly-regarded DOHC M119 V8 through the 1998 model year before switching to the M113 in 1999. This final-year M119 example comes highly equipped featuring the SL1 sport package, the SL2 package and heated multicontour seats. The combination of the aggressive looks with a plethora of luxury equipment makes for an excellent example of what the R129 achieved in its time. Showing just 52k miles on the odometer, this SL500 has plenty of life left to give for its lucky new owner.

Good luck to the bidders as we enter the final hours on this rare-spec. R129. A few final housekeeping items below: 1. Just a reminder/note to any new bidders out there: for any bid made under the 2-minute mark, the timer will reset for an additional 2 minutes (so no need to wait until the last second to place your bid). Please also feel free to refresh your page once in awhile during the countdown to make sure that your clock is in sync with MB Market’s clock. 2. We are happy to assist with worldwide shipping. Please bid with confidence that the MBZ will arrive to you safely. 3. Currusautos is an active online seller with a secure facility in SoCal, adjacent to the Malibu canyons.
To close us out, enjoy a driving video! https://youtu.be/tChC4x8B_ng?si=mZu_x210rwZoWI4L @heathlampee I just gave the bladder adjusts a go and air is certainly pumping, but the bladders don’t seem to be filling. It’s safe to assume the contours are in-op. All other seat adjustments work as they should.
Do all of the multi contour seat buttons/adjusters still work?
This car is the car I really wanted with the color combo to match my daughters R107 in the white/blue colors but couldn't fine one at the time. Agree with Kmadan, glad to see you over here as well. BAT has become, well whatever. Hope you get the numbers you're looking for here, though day before Thanksgiving is a tough day to end an auction, hope it does not affect the outcome. GLWTA

Hi All! About 24 hours to go on this VERY special R129. I know some like to express how “rare” their vehicle is by combining their particular probability of color, year, options, etc. *I’m looking at you corvette enthusiasts!* But If I may, I’d like to offer an interesting factual market analysis of how difficult it would be to find ‘another’ of this car: Using our friend’s at Classic.com, there has not been a singular M119 Sport in White over Blue to sell from 2012 to today. Yes, there has been M113 cars, but never a M119 car. Now that’s interesting! We’ll be here for last minute comments and questions. We know it’s almost the holiday, please set an alarm for 2pm PST tomorrow!

Thanks, @currusautos. Great vehicle and presentation. A unique spec that checks a lot of boxes.
@Kmadan Hi, happy you follow us on BaT. We are not new to R129s! Happy to bring this one to an all MBZ community. The top functions as it should with no leaks or issues.
Great vehicle and usually see your vehicles on BaT - good to see you here. What condition are the roof hydraulics in?

Thank you for viewing this listing by currusautos. While this is our first listing on the MB Market platform, we are an experienced seller on other online auction platforms. We have a secure warehouse facility/photography studio in SoCal, adjacent to the Malibu canyons and some of SoCal’s best driving roads! Additional details on our facility/process can be found at the following link: https://currusautos.net/ We love R129s, and were fortunate to come across this rare spec. – we acquired from only the 2nd owner of 20 years (he purchased CPO from MBZ in 2003). The story we were told is that the original owner was an NFL player on the San Diego Chargers (color combination hence an unlikely coincidence…). As the MB Market team did a great job of highlighting in the description above, this particular example checks desirable R129 boxes: - Unusual color combination of Glacier White over Blue Nappa Leather. - Higher revving, earlier 5.0-liter M119 V8 (AMG Sport Styling Package only optioned with M119 engine for the ’97 & ’98 model years). - Optioned with both SL1 (AMG Sport Styling Package) and SL2 (Luxury Package). As part of our sale prep, the following work was performed: - Refinished all 4 Monoblocks. - New accessory belts. - New cabin air filters. Service records indicate the front hydraulic cylinder latches were rebuilt in 2017. The top functions as it should, with no hydraulic leaks. With only 52k miles on the clock, this car runs and drives beautifully. From our perspective, this special R129 is the definition of what legendary MBZ designer Bruno Sacco referred to as “the most perfect car of my career.”
