This 1999 Mercedes-Benz ML320 was sold new in Colorado and immediately moved to New Jersey where it remained through 2022 until moving back to Colorado. It shows 3 owners from new, 86k miles, and a clean history. The current owner is noted to be a Mercedes-Benz technician. Finished in Brilliant Emerald Metallic (269) over a Sand Leather (205) interior, power comes from a 3.2-liter V6 paired to a five-speed automatic transmission that powers all four wheels. Features include heated perforated leather front seats, leather steering wheel, a leather shift knob, burl walnut dash and console trim, trip computer, Bose premium audio with 6-disc CD changer, all wheel drive with high and low range, and cruise control. In preparation for the sale the seller has performed an A Service on the ML including an oil change, fluid and filter inspection, and safety check. This ML320 is offered with manufacturer's literature, dealer-supplied VMI, one infrared key FOB, service records, and a clean Colorado title.
This W163 is finished in Brilliant Emerald Metallic (269) with gray lower cladding below the doors and matching gray cladding on the front and rear bumpers. Exterior features include a power sunroof, roof rails, folding mirrors, and a rear wiper. The exterior shows a little age by way of a ding in the rear passenger door and small rock chips at the nose of the car.
This example retains the original 5-spoke wheels measuring 16x8 on all four corners. The wheels are wrapped in Michelin Latitude tires measuring in the original 255/65 which show ample tread but aged date codes. The tires show some signs of heat-related stress and dryness. A spare is located under the rear loadspace.
The cabin is trimmed in Sand Leather (205) across the seats, door cards, and head rests. The steering wheel and shift knob are trimmed in Black leather with a black dashboard and contrasting Sand lower plastics and carpeting. The center console, dashboard, and doors show original Burl Walnut veneer with no signs of cracking or wear which was part of the M1 Option Package that cost nearly $3,000 in 1999. This package also featured heated leather front seats with 8-way power, auto-dimming mirror, and a trip computer under the front reading lights. Additional features include functioning power adjustable mirrors, a folding second row of leather trimmed perforated seats with three leather headrests, and a dual speed transfer case. The cargo area contains an OEM retractable cargo cover, first aid kit, jack, and swing out 6-disc CD changer that is part of the Bose Premium Audio system which was a $1,050 option.
The digital odometer shows just under 86k original miles. Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Additional gauges include fuel level with a small W163 outline indicating the fuel cap is on the driver side of the vehicle, coolant temperature, and a digital clock paired with a digital external temperature gauge. The seller shows all of the backlighting functions and LCD displays work in both the video and gallery.
The 3.2-liter M112 V6 was rated at 215 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired to a 722.6 (5G-Tronic) automatic five-speed transmission spinning all four wheels. In preparation for the sale the seller has performed an A Service on the ML including an oil change, fluid and filter inspection, and safety check.
The included Carfax shows 3 owners from new, registration updates from new, linear mileage updates, and a clean history. This ML320 is offered with manufacturer's literature, dealer-supplied VMI, one infrared key FOB, service records, and a clean Colorado title.

@proper912 It comes with two keys. An original FOB key that works for locking and unlocking the vehicle remotely but will not start the ML due to the typical dead chip these keys tend to suffer from. The brand new second key is the Mickey Mouse style of basic key that ML owners have gotten used to due to the discontinuation of the FOB style keys from Mercedes-Benz. From inspection the rockers, floor pans, and subframe mounts are all intact and in fine shape. There is surface rust pictured throughout the underside, with most if not all of the factory paint and undercoating intact. There are no signs of past rust repair, or structural rust present on the vehicle. Along with the body exhibiting a consistent factory orange peel in the paint and panel gaps entirely to factory spec. Thank you again for the questions, it's a pleasure to answer them! Thanks for the answers, that covers most of my concerns! Couple last things: I noticed the dealer added a second key earlier this year. Does it come with two working keys now, or just the one? Also, since it spent most of its life in NJ, I wanted to ask about rust. The underbody shots look like surface patina to me, but how do the rockers, floor pans, and subframe mounts look in person? any structural rust or past rust repair I should know about? Appreciate it, and thanks again!Hello @proper912 1. The .6 transmission shifts perfect with zero flare, hesitation, or clunking at all. 2. During the Service A inspection, the transmission fluid was checked and shows it has been changed at some point. Exhibiting a red color as opposed to the original "lifetime" fluid which was gold in color. Fluid does not exhibit any odd coloration or smells consistent with burning or slipping in the transmission. 3. With the ML running, there is absolutely zero warning lights illuminated even intermittently. 4. Transfer case is entirely operable with a quick actuation into low or high range. There is no faults or whining in any such components. 5. All cooling system components are intact and in good shape. The ML gets up to temperature at a normal pace and holds temperature perfectly. 6. The A/C functions flawlessly, holds charge, and emits perfectly cool air. Thank you for your questions, please let me know if there's anything else I can answer!Beautiful ML, emerald green over sand is such a great combo on these, and great to see one this clean and honest. Had a few questions before I get more serious on bidding: 1. How does the transmission shift? Any flaring, clunks, or hesitation, especially on the 2 to3 upshift? 2.Has the trans ever had a service, or is it still on the original “lifetime” fill? 3. Any ESP / BAS / ABS warning lights, even intermittently? 4. How’s the transfer case or AWD system? Any whine, binding, or noise on turns? 5. Does it hold temp steady, any cooling quirks? 6. And how’s the A/C? I had an issue with my previous ml with the compressor. Thanks, and good luck with the sale!$1,500 bid placed by @HarJay
Hello! This is my 1999 ML320, Its really a great example of a first generation ML. I bought this from a local dealer earlier this year and shortly after took possession of two more ML's, both a little more suited to what I like! I registered this example and now its available to all of you! Service A and inspection has been performed. The valve covers are beginning to leak, and should be replaced and re-sealed in the future. The tires have about 85% even tread all around, but they do exhibit an amount dryness throughout portions of the tire. The brakes are about 80% all around and are in excellent physical condition. There is a small ding in the passenger rear door that is pictured, along with the drivers exterior D pillar clear coat has begun to fade. Overall this is an honest very well taken care of example of a first generation Pre facelift W163. The color package of Emerald Green with sand is in my opinion the quintessential combination for this vehicle. Its obvious this vehicle was garaged most if not all its life. The exterior paint is in almost perfect condition exhibiting a smooth, scratch, and swirl free coating throughout. The interior is like new with zero heat or UV related issues, along with the leather being very soft and supple with almost no creases or wrinkles throughout any of the seats. The headliner is in like new shape with zero droop or discoloration. And the interior plastics are unfaded and strong. Please feel free to tag me with any comments questions you have. Thank you for viewing my ML320 and good luck to everyone!
