This 1999 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Sport is finished in Glacier White (143) over Grey (238) leather and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. It was first registered in Texas before spending time in Arizona, Nevada, and California. Features include the desirable SL1 AMG Sport styling package, SL2 Package with heated seats and Xenon headlights, a retractable black soft top, a wind deflector, glass panoramic hardtop, and automatic climate control. Recent service includes a set of new Michelin Pilot Sport tires, new crank position sensor, spark plugs, cabin filter, brake system flush, valve cover gaskets, transmission output shaft seal, transmission oil pan gasket & filter, windshield washer tank, soft top service & lubrication, 90k-mile major service, mass air flow sensor, a/c lines and seals, a/c hose assembly, blinker switch, and an airbag switch. This R129 shows just 117k miles from new and is offered by the current owner in California with four key remotes, factory literature, service manual, leather service booklet, $15k in paper service records, factory touch-up paint, a recent Carfax report and a clean California title.
The car is finished in Glacier White (143) and features the desirable SL1 AMG Sport package which includes an AMG front spoiler, side skirts, and a rear apron along with factory 18” chrome AMG wheels. This example also features an electric black soft top, xenon headlights, fog lights, and a highly desirable and valuable panoramic hardtop. The color matched factory panoramic roof is in excellent condition and wears tint on the glass as seen in the photos. The front bumper has a crack on the lower passenger side which is viewable in the gallery and the selling dealer reports minor paint chips which have also been documented in the gallery below. The Carfax shows a minor damage report from June 2021 to the front driver's corner which is stated to be purely cosmetic.
Factory staggered 18” AMG chrome wheels are wrapped in new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires showing 2020 date codes. The tires measure 245/40 up front and 275/35 in the rear. The wheels appear free of any significant rash, curbing or peeling.
The cabin features seats trimmed in Grey (248) leather with a matching dashboard, gray carpets, and burl wood veneer accents on the center console and door panels. Amenities include power-adjustable heated front seats with position memory, automatic climate control, a wind deflector, a factory cassette stereo, and an auto-dimming mirror. The LCD screen on the factory head unit shows some liquid crystal bleeding but is reportedly fully functional. The seller reports that the A/C does not blow through the center vents but does operate fully through the side vents.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer, and clock along with gauges for fuel level, instant economy, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates just over 117k miles, approximately 500 of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 5.0-liter M113 V8 was factory-rated at 315 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. @c1096306 great question! No there will not be any extra fees from our end.
Because you are a dealer will there be additional costs of tax, title, license, and doc fees?

@99amgc43 as @49er said, I believe you can buy them new from MB. Much more cost effective to save this one though. It is definitely repairable and I got quotes from $400-600
@99amgc43 I checked a year or so ago and you could still get them through Mercedes. I was able to have mine professionally repaired though instead. Cost me about $600 to have the crack repaired and resprayed.
Beautiful car... Does anyone have a source for a new front bumper? If so, the cost?

We are excited to represent this excellent example of an R129 as our first MB Market auction. This SL500 has been mostly garage kept and well maintained its entire life. It is a fully spec'd out model featuring the sport package, heated seats, xenon headlamps and factory pano top. There were only 4,103 firmweiss (143) R129s ever produced in the world. And one can imagine that these options were extremely rare paired with this color spec. We are firm believers that the R129 is one of the greatest Mercedes ever built – an overall well balanced vehicle in design, performance, and comfort. This chassis coupled with the buttery smooth M113 makes for a great daily driving experience for anyone. Good luck to everyone and may the MB Market counter be in your favor! Best, thesheikh
