The car is finished in Tenorite Gray Metallic (755) and, when compared to the standard E-Class, the E63 gained an AMG-specific body kit with deeper valances and side skirts, as well as a rear spoiler and front bumper vents. This example is fitted with the optional AMG exterior carbon package which adds carbon fiber accents to the side mirrors, front and rear splitter, and rear lip spoiler. Equipment includes a power operated panoramic sunroof, bi-xenon headlights with active curve illumination, high-beam assist, and a power trunk closer. The seller notes minor chips and imperfections in the finish with specificity in the gallery below. The driver’s side carbon fiber piece on the front lip was damaged but a new one has been ordered from Mercedes and will be included with the car; along with the original carbon piece which has been repaired.
The cabin features seating upholstered in Black (201) leather, along with matching carpets and trim complemented by carbon fiber trim on the center console, dash, and door cards as part of the optional carbon fiber interior package equipped on this example. Features include heated and ventilated front seats with dynamic bolsters, COMAND infotainment with GPS navigation, Keyless-Go, an electric rear-roller blind, rear camera, and rear seat airbags.
A video below shows the engine at startup and idle in detail.
An interior walkaround video at idle and a cold start video are also viewable below.

@Bwein yeah this was the comp i was looking at - trade off miles + location for warranty
Thanks everyone!
@eosgood - I had the same east coast/west coast issue last week with this one https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2011-mercedes-benz-e63-amg-15/ @sixmyles, I'll be in touch.
Congrats to @Bwein and to @SixMyles for making the wife happy!
42 was my limit but couldnt lose over 1k, 44k is a great deal for this car. if i didnt live in CA i would have played along more. enjoy the car!
I have a 211 wagon moded as I’d wanted a 212 also but price wise is to much 4 me Good luck
Still a good deal on a rocket you can drive like mad and not worry about breaking! @SixMyles the wife will be happy she is getting her spot back.
@Scottwl38 for me it was to keep miles off the SL65!
$44,000 bid placed by @Bwein
@Apabonds but keep in mind that's the warranty price WHEN you are also buying the car from CarMax. You probably can't match that just shopping for a warranty.
I briefly thought about buying this to drive when not in my S65; it's such a lovely car.

The warranty was $4k
@eosgood wants that warranty @apabonds!
But if you buy the warranty, the car is free :)

Love this era of E-class, and the spec is amazing. Congrats in advance to the winner!
@Scottwl38 agreed.
@zachmac OK, that was funny.
@Apabonds currently about $43,000 on this particular car plus small transfer fee. :)
$42,500 bid placed by @Bwein
You basically get the new car experience for currently about 70k off sticker. And just like when new, if you break it you just tell CarMax / Mercedes "fix it"!
What does cost to get the warranty 🤔
Reserve has been met.

Should have just waited for the horses mouth! :)
@Vlad600sel I think he stated earlier he likes to mod and mods on this one would void the warranty.
@Vlad600sel thanks, I have an accommodating wife. My reasons for selling this one: 1. I do my own wrenching, so the warranty isn't as 'valuable' 2. I like doing performance modifications and I would have likely voided the warranty on this one. 3. the silver one was a much better deal and has lower miles
Ok Thank you I’m curious why selling this one and not the silver ? First time I heard someone bought 2 cars to try and see which one to choose -good 4 you
@Vlad600sel no. Clean NC title in hand.
Any loan on the car?
@Apabonds it has no visual or olfactory indication that it has ever been smoked in.
Do u know if the car has been smoked in

Is there a limit on how many times the warranty can be transferred
$27,500 bid placed by @GoFast
@Apabonds it has been for this engine. Some of the very early 2011 m156 engines still had the old headbolts. This one is past the 60,xxxx engine number cutoff.
Do u know if the head bolt issue on 63 has been corrected for this year , 2011
Hi @apabonds Yes, there have been 3 before me...which seems pretty standard for a 10yo car. With the exception of Owner 2, who had it for about a year, All of them have been long term ownerships, so it's doesn't appear they were dumping the car due to an issue, especially with most of the owners using MB dealerships for maintenance.
In fortuitous timing, I just received notification that the front driver carbon spoiler has cleared customs from Germany and will be delivered tomorrow or saturday.
Multiple owners 🤔

Morning everyone, happy to be here with y'all. Good luck to all the bidders! I'll be in and out of meetings until 3pm EST, but will respond to any comments as I can before then.
As the video demonstrates, the added front track width (2010 and 2011) really make this car a great handler as well. And the 7 speed gear box with the auto throttle blips on downshifts is a thing to behold. Nice. I do miss my 2010. See you tomorrow!
Good day all, a 5min video of the car on a fun section of road is being uploaded. At the end I open the sunroof to try to capture that amazing M156 sound a little better. It worked for a little bit....till I hit 3rd gear and the wind noise overpowered. And that faint fluttering is my strap on the back plastic part of the headrest, I tried to muffle it as best I could but it's the only way I could get the phone secured. @eosgood No I don’t, I have an E34 M5.
@Gasparyan91 if you have an e39 m5 there’s a very active community of owners on fb - https://m.facebook.com/groups/558319607598602. Yeah I don’t think we’re close yet either but I had to throw my hat in the proverbial ring.
@eosgood I love the E39 M5 but since this is my family car, my wife didn't want to deal with a manual. The E60 was my next choice but the SMG is terrible for a family car, I'd love a manual one but back to the problem with the E39. The E63 is the best of the 3 IMO, has the comfort (just repaired my massaging seats, best massage seats from any car I've had IMO), the power and the fun. The MPG is what's terrible with these gas prices. I'm not sure yet, mine has 63k miles so they're both very, very similar. Just impulse bidding for now, I don't think we're anywhere near the reserve anyway.
@Gasparyan91 haha I have an e39 and an e60 m5. But after my buddy bought a c63 in VA and we drove it back here to CA, Ive wanted to get a car with the m156. After I had to drive my wife in the e60 while my truck was in the shop, she told she hates the SMG jerkiness so I finally have an excuse to buy an e63. Are you planning on keeping both e63s?
@eosgood I have several BMW’s and that’s what I love most but with the insane spike in prices for the one’s I like, it’s hard to stick to BMW. I think it’s time for the M156 engined cars to shine. To me, the E63 is a more modern, faster and brutal version of the E39 M5 but in automatic/MCT. And being a 2011, has all the right options including the alcantara headliner that was only available in 2011 if you wanted an M156.
@Gasparyan91 > I have a 2011 E63, same exact color combo and packages minus the carbon trim package and the P30. The P30 package is what I'm after. Building a stable of 2011s?

@SixMyles Perfect, thank you
@Bwein no problem at all. Ask away! I have not had any services performed since owning it. The oil change was done at Carmax prior to me taking possession of it.
@SixMyles Another question: The Carmax MaxCare warranty explicitly states that you must keep service receipts that include your vehicle identification number (VIN), the date, a description of your vehicle, and all services performed. While I understand that you do not have lifetime maintenance receipts, do you have all maintenance receipts since your purchase of the Carmax policy to be in compliance?
@Bwein will do. Will likely be tomorrow though. Yes, my other one is a 2011.
@SixMyles as a lover of these cars, I'm sure my request gives you a "good excuse" to take a ride. Your wife will appreciate me :) City & Highway, day drive and night lights inside/out would be great! Also, is your silver a 2011 E63 as well?
@Bwein sure thing. Anything specific you are wanting to see?
SixMyles, would you please share a driving video? Thanks in advance!
@eosgood Hi , I do not have any service records outside of the Carfax Report. A PPI was done at Eurospec Automotive Services Center in Arden NC with zero issues reported, outside of a low voltage code for when the battery died because I left the interior light on while trailering. Because the service history didn't specifically say it was performed, they recommended a transmission fluid change and spark plugs. I ran a Xentry software report (The MB service software) on all the modules in the car and it came back with 0 errors. Let me know if you need anything else.
Coming from bmws I've been trained to ask about the maintenance history and PPI - do you have the maintenance records and have you had a PPI done? Thanks!
@Jdi3 thanks, I've been loving my silver one, which has the drivers package. I've put air filters, long tube headers with midpipe, and a tune on it....wish it had the LSD this one has.
@SixMyles You'll love the m156 platform paired with the MCT-7 transmission. I've had my 2010 E63 for 6 years now. Driven coast to coast, 186k miles and counting. Wonderful cars for chewing up miles, effortlessly. I maintain mine myself, it has been relatively good. Wish mine had the P30 package. Mine has distronic plus, which is nice.
@zachmac from what I understand the warranty transfer is $50. Also, should you sell the car before the end of the warranty, they will prorate and refund you the difference. To be honest, it was a struggle to decide which E63 to keep as this is my favorite color but I do like to make performance modifications to my cars and my silver one was best suited to that. I knew I couldn’t leave well enough alone so I would likely have either voided the warranty or made things more difficult for myself if I had decided to keep this one. If you are looking for stress free ownership of a high performance m156 MB, you will never do better than this car. The odds of a low mileage/well taken care of m156 e63 popping up are pretty high honestly, but the odds of a low mileage/well maintained m156 e63 with the p30 package are pretty small, the odds of a well maintained with p30 option in this color AND a bumper to bumper inclusive warranty popping up again….pretty dang close to zero since Carmax doesn’t buy 10yo euro’s anymore.
@SixMyles Thank you for the quick response and explanation. I can relate to getting more than you need while you decided which to keep as I've done the same and would be frankly doing so again if I bid on this; but we'll see. Can you share the details of the cost and process for the warranty transfer? I had a 2010 E63 and the warranty is frankly the only reason I'm looking hard at this one. Well that and the miles and the color!
@zachmac ….short answer: I value my marriage to my wife.. Long answer: I’ve been in the m113k platform for a bit and wanted to try the m156 drivetrain (I own 3 other MB’s). Doing all my own service, I wanted a 2011 so I wouldn’t have to deal with headbolts, I also wanted a non-black, and low miles as I tend to drive my cars a lot and own them forever. I looked for 6-8months and nothing popped up that met the criteria. A silver one finally showed up in September that I sent a deposit on and, literally the day after I got home with it, this car showed up in VA Carmax. So I did the only reasonable thing…I bought another e63 to see which one I wanted keep. It took about 1.5mo to get it transferred to my local Carmax in October. I have settled on keeping the silver one, so this is a catch and release. The reserve is literally the amount of money I have tied up into it (purchase, warranty, all 4 wheel refinish, and some cosmetic things). The same as you would spend as if you bought it from Carmax and fixed the very few things it had. Most important to the story, the Gray one is taking up my wife’s parking spot in the garage….so i get the daily ‘when is it gonna go’ question…so please bid early and bid often. It’s an amazing car that’s in great shape….I have really high standards and this one met them handedly.
@SixMyles why the quick flip?
Hi @wilhit10, thanks for asking. It's just a not-so-great photograph. Because of the overcast weather I had to shoot it super dark and then increase the exposure so the 'brighter' areas got blown out and look discolored. The glove box is lined with black felt like material so it's super hard to shoot to begin with so it is also blurry. I assure you that it is not stained or in any state of disrepair...any negative appearance is solely due to my poor shooting decisions there.
What is on the glove box? Is it dirty, or is the color coming off?
I have a 2011 E63, same exact color combo and packages minus the carbon trim package and the P30. The P30 package is what I'm after.
