The C43 is differentiated from the standard W202 with AMG-specific bumper cladding and side skirts. This example is finished in Glacier White (143) and the front bumper was replaced and repainted with an OEM unit. The car was recently paint corrected and ceramic coated around the entire exterior. An AMG-specific dual exhuast outlet can be seen under the rear bumper. The seller notes one bubble on the exterior paint of the rear passenger door and a small rock chip in the windshield; both are visible in the gallery below.
The March 2020 Carfax report shows minor damage with one prior accident reported and prior ownership in Florida, Illinois, California and New Hampshire. This example is offered with a recent Carfax report, manufacturer’s literature, service records, and a clean New Hampshire title in the seller’s name. A walkaround video of the car is viewable below.

What a good time! Glad to see good interaction here.
Enjoy! Friend of mine has a black one, such a fun little rocket!
@aksharamin Congrats, you will be very happy! I will work on giving the car a once over cleaning this weekend for any dust and what not from winter storage.
Let’s get it!!!
Congrats to the buyer and seller! Well done on a great car!
@aksharamin Congrats! Way to go!
Congrats to the buyer! That was exciting to watch there. Great cars! Enjoy it.
These are faster than the famous W124 E500's, plus - no auto leveling rear suspension to deal with, and one more gear in the transmission.

I’m out on this one! Goodluck to the buyer
This is a well known format and prevents sniping
Everytime someone bids, it extends the time
This is unfair the auction should’ve ended minutes ago
Resets to two minutes with each new bid.
How is the auction time being extended?

The MB Classic Center says the two trunk badges ("C43" & "AMG") are still available.
Nice to see some Michelin's on there. Usually a good sign.
@aircooledfoto I do not but you should be able to get a set for <$40 on eBay that would be indistinguishable from that factory ones.
Does the seller still possess the factory "C43" and "AMG" badges?
@rcarter978 The intel I have from AMG sales is that 91 C43s were sold in US market in 2000. But whether it's 25 or 91, a 2000 MY C43 is exceptionally rare! Great car - GLWA
@UnicornCollecter I believe in 2000 there were 25 that made it to NA.
Question for the expert, how many C43 amg in MY 2000?
I will be grabbing lunch shortly but will be monitoring for any last minute comments/questions that need addressing.
These things are built to last. Looks like a nicely kept vehicle
Join the fun folks! I already have a couple of C43s, or I'd be bidding on this nice driver! The C43 is a classic muscle car, German style - big engine in small car - and is very stealthy in appearance, but has plenty of go power for road trips! The powertrain on these is quite reliable. Even then, AMG was hand-assembling their engines, they just didn't start with the signature plates until later years. Some attention might be needed at some point on the transmission shift conductor plate. Otherwise, one can expect many miles of dependable service from a W202 C43 series car, with proper maintenance.

These are going to be crazy money in the near future! Kind of what we're seeing happen with the W210 AMG already
I will be around to take additional pictures (if needed) or show the car to anyone local during the week (Tues, Weds, Thurs).

Thank you!
40+ additional images of the headliner and paint meter readings have been added to the gallery.
@Kwoodwo I took some new pictures of the headliner without flash and interior lights off hopefully that shows better to the actual condition. I also got paint readings and everything came in between 3.6-5mils. The booklet that came with it says it's what factory paint should be. Pictures should be up shortly.
@Kwoodwo The car does not appear to be smoked in, no smell of it. The yellowish tint appears to simply be just the flash on my cell phone camera (and likely combined with the interior lights). The headliner was replaced by the previous owner. I will work on seeing if I can get a paint meter.
Would it be possible to get paint meter readings? Does it appear to have been smoked in at all? The plastic on the headliner seem to have a yellowish tint so just wanted to confirm prior to bidding. Thanks!
@butteruup82 @rcarter978 This is going back few years now but I believe when I bought the car the previous owner said that the accident was only that he hit a pot hole and had to get the car towed or something like that. I'm not 100% sure. I will say although the car was optioned with xenons, when I got the car it just had regular halogen bulbs and I didn't convert them back. Replacement headlights can indicate a front end accident in some cases. I think if there we any issues from previous accidents they would likely have presented themselves over the subsequent thousands of miles this car has driven and damage would likely be seen in the photos. Tell tale signs are paint chipping on the white painted fasteners holding the fenders in place, and paint scratches around the fasteners for the upper rad support.

@butteruup82 for the 5/2013 accident hopefully @Alec_Lefteroff can elaborate as I am not aware of those details but for the the 4/2019 accident that shows: Owner rear ended someone at ~7mph and had a new OEM bumper and OEM grille fitted and AC condenser replaced.
Since we have a previous owner here, any color you can share on the accident? Thanks!
Should let me buy it for 2000$
@Alec_Lefteroff correct, these would be presumably the H&R springs you installed. I bought it this way and the two owners between us did 13k miles on them.
I owned this car in CA for about a year from 111k ish miles, and sold it with about 123k (If you look at picture 138 you can see my name on the under tray still). I road tripped with a buddy from near Chicago where I bought the car back home to the Bay Area. Really enjoyed the car as a daily and had to wait a while to find a white one. C43s are great but I had scratched the itch so decided to move on. Cool to see it pop up here on the site, and looking forward to seeing the auction result. Quick note, I installed the H&R springs so unless the current owner installed another set for some reason they aren't really new anymore.
If anyone needs further pictures I am happy to take some more or if you are local and want to take a peek at it I am around Saturday afternoon as well as Sunday. Seems like on the underside of the passenger doors (front/rear) there is what I assume to be old glue from the door panels.
54 additional images of the underbody, door bottoms, interior and other areas of the car have been added to the gallery.
$1,250 bid placed by @Yeezers
@Armenian I will grab pictures of the seats and bottom of the doors, didn't think of that. I didn't drive in New England (was in storage) but the car did spend time in Illinois from 2009-2018 (93k-112k miles).
Too bad not any full length pictures of the front seats. Would have liked to see the current condition. Also pictures of under the doors in open position to include some of the carriage underside. Considering the environment of winter and road salts used in New England during winter months and the amount of miles accumulated it is a factor.
Great to see a C43 come up. The first official AMG-Mercedes V8! The only AMG model available for sale in the USA in 1998! One of perhaps 550 sold that year - how many are left? They're so hard to find nowadays, especially a nice one, in a less common color. We'll be watching the outcome of this one closely!
I will be heading to my storage unit to take some underside photos or at least best I can with a jack :) if anyone has any other requests or would like different angles, post up some what you'd want to see.
