Importing a 25-year-old vehicle from British Columbia, Canada to the US is easy by using the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Vehicle Import Guide, as vehicles over 25 years old are exempt from federal DOT safety standards and EPA emissions restrictions. Basically, it is filling out few forms and paying 2.5% standard customs duty of the purchase price or market value. It is also exempt from any newly implemented tariffs.
@RBBrooke Hello sir, I went through all the receipts and paperwork I have from the car, and have not seen a record of transmission and engine mounts being replaced. Earlier this year, car has been inspected by certified Mercedes-Benz mechanic and order of parts that needed to be replaced has been placed (photo 188), and they have been installed. Few weeks ago, I took the car to a large shop (photo 161) of a dealership that services all makes and models, to be put on a hoist and inspected prior the sale (and to make photos and videos of undercarriage). The mechanic that did the inspection, previously owned E400 and E320 (W124s) and was familiar with this model as well. I had a chat with him and he did not mention that the mounts need to be replaced. There are 3 small dots on the front passenger side door, that the rocks chipped the paint and they look rusty on the surface. They have been pointed out on the 2001 E55 AMG Part 8 video at 0:22 of the video.
