Congrats @cmoneymillz Was getting it for the wife and I loved the color more than she did, otherwise things might have gone a bit differently. :) Congrats on a great deal on a fantastic spec!
Hi, is this a dealer or private sale? Has the lien noted on Carfax been payed off?
@Bankrep40One of our techs looked at the harness and said they appear to be the updated Delphi harnesses, likely replaced under warranty/recall
@paulgardner We do not have service info for this car back that far. The only receipts that we have are from a recent service that are posted in the gallery.
@bzcatWhat MercedesDad said. Also, if you check the Carfax it states "Vehicle declared to meet US highway safety specifications Bond released"
@ErolTwinsburg, Ohio
@Horsepwr4me - one of our shop guys checked it out this weekend - he was unable to test the heat/ac operation as the blower motor doesn't work currently. We can look into getting that addressed but we need to clear it with the consignor. It is still R12/has not been converted to R134. The lower oil pan seeps slightly, the drivetrain is dry otherwise.
@Horsepwr4meThanks for the question! We are confident that they work but we'll double check those items on Tuesday (we're off for the holiday weekend). The current owner (the car is on consignment) is pretty sure that it was converted to r134, but we will check the fittings on Tuesday and verify that as well. The car overall is incredibly clean - I've seen a number of these in all manner of condition, and this one stands out from the rest. The owners took very, very good care of this one.
Thank you for the bids! Sorry we are not going to give this one away today. With nearly $8k spent on mechanical refurbishment, we believe this V12 is worth more. They are hard to find, and even needy ones are in the teens.
@sosweedeyep, we checked it right before we threw it in the trash.
@joeman100Typically with these bigger items we arrange shipping with an enclosed auto carrier that can fit something like this in their trailer without having to package it up. The official answer is "buyer is responsible for shipping/pickup", but we will work with our carrier contacts to help out the buyer. We are not equipped to package it up for typical UPS/freight shipping, hence why we typically default to the car carriers. Another great option is uship.com - there are independent contractors on there who will ship anything anywhere and that has been a pretty good resource for me in the past for oddball items.
Thanks DocTed! We definitely agree - I've had a number of these in all manner of mechanical condition, and I've learned that the good ones are really good but if they need some sorting they need a lot of it. This one ran OK when we got it but definitely needed to be caught up on service, so we went down the rabbit hole of addressing everything that we found. It should be ready to enjoy for the next owner. Once these are caught up on maintenance, they tend to be incredibly reliable and enjoyable if they are continually kept up.
