The body is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and features AMG-design body work with a sculpted front air dam, side skirts and rear apron. Exterior equipment includes Xenon HID light-sensing headlamps, black mesh air intakes, stainless-steel AMG exhaust tips, power door mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, remote central locking, infrared-reflective dual-pane windows, an electronic trunk closer and a power tilt/slide glass sunroof. No signs of rust or body work are present with no accidents or damage reports on the Carfax.
The 18” AMG think-spoke Monoblock wheels are fitted with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires which measure 245/45 front and 275/40 rear with 2022 date codes. Minor curb rash is visible on the wheels. The standard Active Body Control hydropneumatic suspension provides both adjustable ride height and stiffness.
The wood/leather steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer with a centrally-mounted multifunction display which sits alongside a 6k-rpm tachometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Digital instrumentation includes a clock and an outside temperature sensor. The digital odometer shows 130k miles from new. An odometer discrepancy is noted on the Carfax which is the result of mileage being reported in kilometers. Photos provided by the seller show linear mileage in the STAR diagnostic system.
The original owner took delivery of the car from Chapman Mercedes-Benz of Tucson, Arizona and maintained ownership through June 2023 before being acquired by the seller in August. This 2002 S55 AMG is now offered for sale at No Reserve in Tucson, Arizona with a clean Arizona title in the selling dealer’s name.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class remains the ultra-luxury car against which other ultra-luxury aspirants are judged and this 2002 S55 AMG is no exception. Powered by the venerable naturally aspirated AMG M113, this example was and still is a true wolf in sheep's clothing. The look is unmistakably Mercedes, with a dignity of design appropriate for a technological flagship that exudes luxury, refinement, and class. As examples aged and technology advanced, many of these W220 flagships became obsolete to many drivers and were replaced with newer models. These cars have moved on from status symbols to be timeless future classics for enthusiasts who enjoy a S-Class with notoriety, cloud-like ride, and the exclusivity of a car rarely seen in traffic today.

I’m in Tucson , would it be possible for me to come over and look at the car ? Thank you
Fantastic car! GLWTA!
@sasdwe Thanks for the comment! As far as i know, the mounts have not been replaced. The front plastic "AMG" shroud is a little crooked in the pictures giving it a weird stance but I will take a closer look at the mounts!
The engine is a 5.4 liter M113, not 5.5. The 55 in the name is just a name. Looking at the engine photo, the engine appears to be tilted to the right of the car. Have the hydraulic engine mounts been replaced ever? This tilt is a symptom of failed mounts - a simple DIY fix or an expensive dealer repair.
