This 2000 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is finished in Black (040) over a Black (231) Nappa Leather interior and shows 63k miles on the odometer. Power is provided by a 5.0L M113 V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include a color-matched hardtop, a new black soft top, electrically-adjustable front seats with memory function, 18″ AMG sport wheels, and more. Recent maintenance includes a rebuild of all hydraulic top cylinders and new brake rotors and pads. The seller has added 8,000 miles since their acquisition in October 2018. The car is now offered with factory books and manuals, a clean Carfax report, newly replaced convertible top hydraulics and a clean South Carolina title.
The car is finished in Black (040) and features a black soft top which is photographed both lowered and raised. The seller recently replaced all of the hydraulic top cylinders with refurbished units from Top Hydraulics in Oregon. A receipt from the Top Hydraulics is viewable in the gallery. The color-matched black hardtop is provided with the vehicle, and the soft top has been recently replaced. A ceramic coating has been applied to the exterior paint.
Factory 17″ Albali wheels were replaced with five-spoke 18” AMG sport alloys from a late-model R129 Sport model which have been refinished under the owners care. The upgraded wheels wear Sumitomo HTR Z III Max Performance summer tires sized 245/40 up front and 275/35 in the rear. New brake rotors and pads have been recently installed.
The interior is trimmed in black nappa leather (231A) with matching carpets and burl wood trim on the dash, center console and door cards. Amenities consist of automatic climate control, dual front airbags, Electronic Stability Program traction control, power-adjustable seats with memory, and a trunk-mounted CD changer. The factory headunit has been replaced with an upgraded Continental TR7412 unit with integrated Bluetooth capability.
Silver-ringed instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and a digital odometer showing just over 63k miles. Additional gauges include oil temperature, fuel economy, fuel level, engine temperature and an analog clock.
The 5.0L M113 V8 was rated at 302 horsepower with 339 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission that reportedly shifts smoothly. An oil and filter change was most recently performed in Feb 2021 along with replacement of the hood insulation pad.
The April 2021 Carfax report shows history in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and South Carolina with no accidents or other damage listed and linear mileage updates since new. The car is accompanied by the OEM hardtop, maintenance receipts including rebuild of the top hydraulic cylinders, and factory literature.
Videos have been provided showing the operation of the soft top and walkaround of the vehicle.

@HydraulikOne all systems are working. Most recently entire top hydraulics was overhauled. Car is very strong and mechanical sound. The car has been driven short trips on a regular basis.
Hello Seller, can you confirm that all systems like climate controls/AC/Seats/Cruise, etc. are working properly? Thank you!

@Dekostop it’s tires, buy new ones and your proble Is solved. :)
@Zmarsha123 i bought 2 of those for my R230 2 years ago..I remember in the specs that it said to not to subject these tires to below freezing Temps under a load to prevent damage to the tires... So they are pretty much toast now.

@Dekostop tires have seen frozen temps but car is a 4th car. Never driven in snow. Tires need to be replaced fairly soon.
@rajsidhu Greenville, SC
How old are the tires and have they been subjected to below freezing temperatures whether outside or in the garage?
Hi, where is the vehicle located?
@Mindzer The Ceramic coating that was applied was GTechniq EXOV4. this was installed on 3/29/2019 and the car has been in 2x for service washes/details since. you can look up Zach's Dynamic Detailing on instagram or online for previews of their work. Other appropriate coatings were also installed on plastic and leather surfaces of car See details in invoice picture.
Seller, do you know which ceramic coating brand was applied and how long it is estimated to last? Thanks

Those AMG wheels transform the look of these cars! The smaller 16s just don't do it justice. I've had 2 R129s previously and always ran 18" monoblocks with no sacrifice to ride quality. GLWS!

I remember this car! I took it in on trade for a CPO S-Class back in 2018. If I remember correctly, the SL was a birthday present for the long-term second owner. I kick myself all the time for not buying it when I had the chance. GLWTA!
