@thedennisking@ClarksonB thanks for the compliments! I shouldn't have taken a picture that close, it's super small and out of the line of sight. I'm not too worried haha! Thank you everyone for the bids and an exciting final few minutes! Best, Anthony
@McMinnowDidn't realize I can't DM specific members, as I have received several DMs about my listing. Quick research estimates motor mount replacement at roughly between $500 and $2000 depending on if you DIY it or use a shop. Hope that helps.
Hi @McMinnow This vehicle had the mounts replaced roughly 30,000 miles ago, as mentioned on the VMI. My mechanic has felt the vibration in the wheel, and has noted that they don't need to be replaced as of now. I personally do not feel it when driving- maybe a little if I decide to move it for the first time in my driveway on a cold start-up. I wait until it warms up to actually drive the car, as I know she's a little older haha. That is a common wear item on W221s, as their mounts are pretty soft to begin with. I do not know how much the repair would cost, as my mechanic said it wasn't necessary. I'll talk to my service writer, get general info, and DM it to you ASAP. Just trying to be up front with the condition, as I take pride in my vehicles. Thanks!
Hi @raffi I sent you a PM (sorry, I’m on PA time) but full transparency for you and any other prospective bidders: The vehicle has an active loan through Mercedes Benz Financial Services. If the vehicle meets reserve, the buyer will send me the funds, I will pay off the loan and expedite the title through the dealership I work at. This will take around 2-3 weeks. In the interim, I will give the S550 one last Mercedes-Benz check-up (with my 35 year master tech) and get a full detail so it’s ready to go. Let me know if you have any other questions and happy bidding!
Hello and welcome to the auction of my beautiful Designo 221! Thanks to the MB Market for a great write-up. A quick history of the car: This vehicle was originally special-ordered by a prominent client at MB of West Chester back in 2008. He opted for the Designo Espresso Interior Package, but decided for Arctic White paint instead of the Mocha Black usually picked on a Designo Espresso Edition vehicle. The MSRP was nearly $122,000 back in '09! As shown in the VMI and the attached CARFAX, this S has a heavy service history at multiple MB dealers on the East Coast (most of the miles come from driving to the first owner's properties in SC and FL) and a lot of common 221 problems have already been addressed. I'm here to answer any questions- and because I work at a Mercedes dealership, the purchase process will be made as seamless as possible. Thanks again and good luck! -Anthony
I have a Black/Black '04 CLK55 Cabrio with 67k- they are fantastic cruisers with a little bit of muscle! Whoever ends up with this beauty will not be disappointed! GLWTA!
I remember this car! I took it in on trade for a CPO S-Class back in 2018. If I remember correctly, the SL was a birthday present for the long-term second owner. I kick myself all the time for not buying it when I had the chance. GLWTA!
