The Tobacco Brown (423) exterior is accented with new chrome bumpers and trim. In 2016 the coupe received a repaint in the original factory color and all panels have been repainted to factory spec including jambs and sills. During the restoration this W111 was taken down to bare metal including glass removal. Up front the original European-spec glass headlamps remain along with added rallye lights and North American market corner lights. Close up shots of various trim pieces, brightwork, and paint are provided in the gallery.
The Cognac leather-trimmed cabin has also been refinished to factory-spec in recent years. It’s accented with Burl Wood trim across the upper and lower dashboard, A-pillars, and upper windshield trim. Cognac loop carpets were installed and a matching set of Cognac floor mats are included with the sale. A dealer-original and functioning BEHR air conditioner can be seen in the cabin while an enamel Mille Miglia badge can be found on the dashboard just above the clock.
Framed through the classic two-spoke steering wheel, a 240-km/h speedometer and 7k-rpm tachometer is displayed with the functional five-digit odometer reading 95,732 kilometers. Additional gauges include oil pressure, fuel level, and engine temperature. All gauges are fully functioning and encased by the Cognac leather-wrapped dash with chrome trim accenting each dial.
The 3.5 liter V8 is reportedly leak free and up-to-date on all necessary maintenance. The engine and drivetrain were rebuilt as part of the recent refurbishment and has been maintained annually since the rebuild. The fuel injected M116 V8 was rated for 200 horsepower and 231 lb-ft of torque when new, which is sent to the rear wheels through a floor-shifted four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
Factory manuals, books, keys, and tools are included with the sale from the current owner. A walkaround video has been provided by the seller and can be viewed below.
