In 1993 I had the good fortune of owning a new 500 E, a 6.9 and an original 6.3 and a Hatch fully restored 6.3. My go to for the most amount of fun, great sounds and lots of grunt ...... the 6.3. Alas the old saying that the cost of upkeep for a 6.3 would make a rich man cry was kinda true. The politicking at Mercedes was fierce to build this "Banker's Hot Rod" it has been told. Thank goodness those crazy hot rodder engineers won out. I do agree with Jim_Rosenthal because the wood inserts are well done the interior sings like a magnificent symphony. Please buy this car to drive, and get a few extra drive shaft.
Thank you for the information. What needed to be done to get them to fit right?
Good day You mention addressing the wheel and tire issue. Can you add a bit more information on the wheels such as brand and size and fitment please? They do look well. Were you to keep it what would be your next issue to take on? thank you
My son's and and I are actually 124/129/Sacco addicts. Had the first 300CE cab in Georgia back in 1992-2. New 500E approved special order red for 1993 and many since. One of our cars won 2nd Bruno Sacco award at Legends last year even though we had not entered, just there to get Silver Certified . 1993 300 CE Sportline coupe in Bornite wearing AMG 17" rims. We hope to get these for a different Cab. The silver one from MB Market is our frequent driver. Hope to speaking soon
Thank you!!
Will the seller assist in having the wheels professionally packaged, insured and shipped? Thank You!
Pretty cool
Good Evening, Is the car in Glendale California at this time and can it be inspected? Thank You Donkster
Beautiful. Can you give us some information on where and by whom the restoration was done? Thank you
Great car
Good Morning Nice looking wagon. I am also wondering about the Tach question and ask the a general question as to ANY deferred maintenance mechanically as well as cosmetically? This would include all switches and gauges, clock, teachers etc, Amy lights on the interior. The interior trim on the console glove box, and A pillars? Also the vanity mirror lights and covers tend deteriorate. Thank you.
Interesting and pretty color combination Ottobenz perhaps you can give me some info on one of my 124s. 1993 300CE Sportline Coupe in Bornite with black interior Donkster1@instagram
Thank you. Do you have a reasonable “guesstimate” on the weight per wheel? Safe to say it will be 15” X 7” at the least, lol
Good Morning. Will these fit without spacers or other modification a 1994 or 1995 E320 cabriolet ? Thank you

Fellow 124 lovers I am looking for a source for a wiring harness. Please let me know. Thank you
Incredibly strong showing for a very beautiful car. Kudos to the seller and all the bidders as well as the web host crew for keeping it positive and timely in posting the information. I’m sad this one got away from me but it blew right past my budget for adding a 12th 124 to my garage, They are wonderful cars and I hope a few more come by to both ogle and share thoughts with the very knowledgeable here at The MB Market. Donkster, and yes I do love donkeys
Again, thank you for being a conscientious seller. The photos are very helpful. The information will go a long way to making this an excellent auction for both the seller and bidders.
Thank you for answering my questions. Very much aooreciated
Thank you for this bit of information. I am looking forward to seeing some photos of the areas I have requested. I am also wanting to know; Dash and interior rheostat for the light brightness operable? Dash vent intact and functioning or jammed or broken? Rear window defrost functioning? Front seat locking mechanism functioning ( safety feature) clock and ALL gauges functioning? Headlight wipers functioning? HVAC in auto mode working? Transitioning from heat to air to defrost all properly functioning?Sterring column adjuster working? Can the cruise control be tested? Are there stains at the power top area at the pivot point on the headliner or is that a lighting artifact? Speaker fader working? Headed seats both bottom and back working at both settings on both seats? Clock? Central Locking system functioning? If pre-arranged can the car be taken to have a complete and thorough full inspection at my expense? As I look over my 124's I may have a few more questions. I am an avid fan and not too long ago won an auction here for a 1995 Cab Thank you Donkster
Good Day. I was hoping that you could take and add some photos of the top of the windshield to include if possible the handle for pulling the top into position, the “mini control” panel which includes the reading/map lights and the switches. Also photos of the visors both with the lids open and mirror and lights as well as the area where the visor plastic cover is. There are areas of plastic trim around the seat bottoms. Does the following work probably; cruise control, automatic antennae, auto volume control on the radio, seat belt extenders and the small triangle the belts sit in. Between the front seats on the console is a storage some describe as a “cassette” box” can you photo that as the vinyl has a tendency to shrink up as well as the A pillar cover. Thank you Donkster
Hi, could you show the hood paint flaws in more photos from different angles? Was the hood Ceramiced as well given the paint checking? Thanks
Any input on these fitting a 1995 E320 Cab? Thanks
Good day, would it be possible to get a few more pics of the console and the carbon fiber. Also the shift gate and a few better and more orienting pics of the frayed driver's seat area. thank you
Good Day. Can the owner please give a more detailed run down on what the car to his knowledge needs and what currently does not work properly and need attention. That would include but not be limited to information on the status of recent service and the need for repair. HVAC, all other electronics and electrical systems such as seat adjusters, sunroof function in both modes, state of the instrument function including dash lighting and adjustments, antennae and stereo function. Power window switches all dash vents. The seam and leather hole is where exactly as the picture for me is uncertain. Any closeup of paint flaws and a better photo of the grill damage. It appears that the headliner is dropping down is that correct? Thank you. Donkster. BTW I have bought 2 cars here on this website and it is my impression both the seller and buyer are BEST served when there is a complete and easy flow of information in a fashion consistent with folks who have passion for cars and Mercedes in particular.
Hey Harrdwarwe you seem really knowledgeable about MB. Anyway is there some way we can communicate as i have a million questions it seems u could help me on? I am on Instagram as donkster1 or email if these guys let it stay. [email protected]
Terrific creation The challenge for us Cali guys is getting it registered here. Gets harder to do even for just older cars. Last grey car I had, a 124 Sportline cab had to be registered in South Dakota and the CHP new the deal. BTW we had a new 1993 E500 but it never looked this cool or menacing Best of luck
Good Morning. For clarity the conversation mentioned below was indeed by phone as I live in California. Without seeing the condition of the car, the seller described the condition of the wiring harness and therefore I cannot vouch for his report. Any other information the seller exchanged with me was limited and again without me making the observation in person. Donkster
The 124 has a history of a few ver well known mechanical issues and I haven’t seen, perhaps my oversight, those issues have been addressed. Those problems include deterioration of both upper and lower wire harnesses, head gasket, A/C evaporators and dash vent distribution actuators as well as seat belt extenders. Can the seller please let me know the status of these please. Thank you. Donkster
Wonderful car. I’ve seen W111 and W113 cars with the aftermarket chrome around the wheel wells but this is the first 124. Universal trim failure around the visor attachment to the windshield/A pillar. Perfect replacements from classictrimparts.com. Easy to do and they have them for 129’s. Ive done all of my cars. Instructions in the box are the best method.
Thank you for the post
Your photos are really great. Would it be possible to get a headon of the drivers's side seat outboard bolster? On the drivers side lower outboard corner there is a plastic piece that sometimes cracks and there isn't a clear photo of that area. it covers the mechanism that pivots when the seat is tipped forward. Any other areas of cracking on the wood fascia other than shift gate? Do both the back and seat cushions on both seats heat properly? Thank you
Thank you
Can you add a photo or 2 of the chrome strip that is on the rear bumper just under the trunk lid. It looks raised up. Also a picture or 2 of the “wear” spots on the convertible top thank you
Looks like the correct Stayfast snaps are in place is there a boot cover of leather with the car? Was the leather replaced or redyed.
124 coupes are IMHO the best proportioned coupe of all times
What a wonderful find
I saw this same color combination on an E55 at the MB dealers. Hard to describe the paint except to say it was striking. Very nice
What shop(s) were used for the restoration or parts of the restoration? Any photos during the process, particularly of body damage or rust repair? Are receipts available and do they go with the car at the time of the sale? Thank you
I was fortunate enough to have a duplicate 111 3.5 cab and a 1970 6.3 in these colors. They NEVER fail to catch the eye. Cognac interiors are IMHO the most beautiful of interior when well preserved. I have also had the experience of restoring 3 111s by Hatch automotive back in the early 90’s and appreciate the effort to bring them back to a condition like this one seems to be not to mention the $$$$$$$,$$$$$. A sun Roof and console shift makes it too much to pass up no matter what the spouse says.
I'm much more of a 129 fan-atic but this is a strikingly beautiful car!
Klink so do I as I just enjoy unique colored Mercedes
Klink are you related to this car, the original owner before it went to the dealer? Any other info you can share on it? Thanks
Good Morning. Thanks Petrol Head and Klink for the general answer regarding the air suspension. I was hoping the seller would answer that as well as my other questions regarding the general mechanical and accessory equipment I asked. I would love to bid, but need more seller info!
Beautiful car. My only experience with an air suspension system is on 6.3 and multiple MB wagons. Are they complicate, require special maintenance schedule and expensive? Any deferred maintenance yet to be done, and do all the complicated electrical systems work ie. windows, seat adjusters, HVAC, cruise control, sound system, active bolsters, seat heaters, etc? Thank you
