My best thanks, Ntrepid, passing on that reveal was most kind of you. I was resting easy on the matter, after all, I did bid; now I'm completely at peace. It is an exceptional color for those lovely 107 lines. Again , my sincere thanks, Bruce
Rest assured @Bruce777 that this car rolled off the factory line as an Almandine Red example: https://www.lastvin.com/vin/az1nGEyZbg12xv67l
I really love these cars, and my eldest daughter and son-in-law, a doctor, who live there in Roanoke, are driving a 1988 smoke silver model that I restored completely some years ago. It is one of 18 stories that comprise my latest car book, "Zen and the Art of Collecting Old Cars", endorsed by Jay Leno and selling on Amazon and in bookstores since 2020. I confess that I almost did not bid today, after re-studying the CarFax and noting that the car was described as black in color for several of its years in Kentucky. I decided that, at this late stage of life, it really didn't matter. The Almandine Red Metallic is simply stunning! I'll be pleased to pay by bank wire, if you would send along the required information. Thank you for selling me such an imposing example of the 560SL roadster. Kind regards, Bruce
@Bruce777 Well played sir! Congrats! I'll connect with you shortly!

@AMG5pt4 Thank you! This is definitely a car I'm going to miss!
@CannedHeat2 Thank you! The color was what drew me to this particular car, and the fact it's an 89.
@blakleyleonard thank you!
Stunning 107, Blakley! Magnificent paint and interior. Right amount of miles - used enough to keep her in order.

I'm not in the market but I know 107's very well. Worth mentioning that this looks like an exceptionally clean car and is a rare color combo that looks even better in-person. Good luck to seller on this and congrats to whoever wins it.

I added an additional video showing the car outside in direct sunlight as well as a picture of a service receipt from 2019 that was in the car.

Love seeing the wood trim on these cars looking factory fresh! It's so common to see them faded and cracked that you forget how it's supposed to look. Well done!

Such an iconic design. Incredible to see how this car bridged the gap between the pagoda and r129. Great looking example!

@Kloureiro Hey! There's some minor creasing in the seat bottoms which is normal for these. Nothing out of the normal but still wanted to include it. Thanks!

I noticed that the description indicates wear on the seat cushions. Seller can you elaborate. I really can’t identify anything too out of the ordinary in the pictures so any detail you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you!

Sharp looking SL! So cool to see the dealer name still on the back. I try to track down the dealer license plate surrounds for cars when I know where they were sold back in the day.

@blakelyleonard One gorgeous example here. 1989 the last year cars seem to be the ones to acquire.
@Benzhill I totally agree! It was difficult to capture the true color of the paint as it's very unique compared to the bright red and burgundy colors offered at the time.
One of the best colors indeed. I had a 94 E320 cabriolet in this color and the pics don't do it justice. Gorgeous SL and GLWA @blakleyleonard
Hello and welcome to the auction for my 560SL! I've owned this car since December 2022 and have spent considerable time to ensure it's reliable and up to snuff. The car is a real head turner with sharp classic body lines from the 80's and rare Almandine Red paint. It's also the last model year offered for the R107 which has become the most collectible and desirable of the lineage. I hate to see it go but I don't get to enjoy it very often and am freeing up some space in the garage for future toys. I'd love to see it go to a fellow enthusiast who will continue to properly take care of the car. Good luck to all!
