This 1995 Mercedes-Benz E300 Diesel was first sold in June 1994 and shows California registration from new with just under 178k miles on the odometer. Finished in Black (040) over Gray MB-Tex (178), power is provided by a 3.0-liter diesel inline-six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Factory equipment includes power adjustable front seats, a power tilt/slide sunroof, cruise control, automatic climate control, headlamp wiper/washers and an Active Bass audio system. The car was last sold on The MB Market in August 2023 to the current seller who has since installed a new battery, brake pads, fuel filter, flex disc, center drag link, tie rods, steering damper, ball joints, and control arm bushings. This E300 Diesel is now offered for sale by the current owner with partial service records, a Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The exterior is finished in Black (040) with contrasting gray lower body cladding separated by a chrome-trimmed beltline. Exterior equipment includes an automatic antenna, headlamp wipers/washers, a power tilt/slide sunroof, a power passenger-side door mirror, heat insulating glass and a heated rear window. The sunroof is noted as not functional. The car has previously received bodywork with a damage report to the front of the vehicle shown in 2021 which resulted in the replacement of the grille and hood. The rear bumper shows a large crack with additional damage visible on the front bumper. The lower body cladding shows signs of fading.
Aftermarket 17" monoblock style wheels have been fitted and are wrapped with a set of 215/45 Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires showing 2023 date codes. A full-size spare is fitted in the trunk along with the original tool kit and factory jack. The rear brake pads were replaced in December 2023, along with new tie rod assemblies, ball joints, and control arm bushings in August 2023.
The seats are upholstered in Gray MB-Tex (178) with matching door cards and a black dashboard. Zebrano wood trim lines the center console, dashboard and door panels with only minor cracking seen on the ashtray and climate control panel. Interior amenities include power adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control and an Active Bass audio system. The seller notes visible wear on the center arm rest and surface cracks on the rear headrests. Gray Mercedes-Benz floor mats are included with the car along with a set of folding cup holders mounted to the doors.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer along with a 6k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer currently shows just under 178k miles from new.
This W124 is powered by a 3.0-liter DOHC inline-six diesel engine which is factory rated for 134 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes that the transmission was rebuilt in 2010. In 2021, the AC condensor was replaced along with a new fan and fan clutch. Service history over the last year includes new flex discs in the front and rear, new center drag link, tie rod assemblies, steering damper, the left and right lower ball joints, control arm bushings, rear brake pads, fuel filter, air filter, new battery, and an oil service.
This E300 Diesel shows California registration from new. The Carfax shows linear mileage updates along with the aforementioned damage report from 2021. This E300 Diesel is now offered for sale by the current owner in Santa Monica, California with the original manufacturer’s literature, the factory first-aid kit and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Sorry for the confusion. I had 4 black color code 040 Mercedes from the 90s. The photos 79 and 80 should be disregarded. They are from one of my S Class w140. I have requested that they be removed. No one had bid yet so there are no bides to be cancelled. Sorry for the confusion. I am not a flipper. It was more of a David Lee type hobby. A flipper would have made difference choices and perhaps made money. I did have fun though repairing and restoring the four cars.
Two different headliners on two very different Mercedes. Good eye. Sounds like a flipper. However, half the cars on here sound like they are being flipped.
Confusing photos of the headliner--the light gray with the sagging seems to be this car; the later photo that looks like dark gray alcantara seems like a much newer vehicle (maybe an S class?) Regardless of that, this car seems well sorted overall; just now broken in based on the mileage. I think my grandson has well over 255K on my 91 300D (though it is trashed in comparison to this beauty, bumpers and all). Wondering aloud why the sunroof doesn't work? Good luck with this!

The wheels were purchased on EBay for $1200. They were installed by Byron Woodley tire in Santa Monica. I there is a receipt in photos. They are imitation AMG. They are not genuine . But they work well, especially with new Michelin tires. It was a bit work to get them to fit right but it worked out. No spacers were used.
That is a great question. Probably the rear bumper first . Then a bike rack . I had a tow hitch for nice bike rack installed . I am still undecided about the interior. This is not a prom car. It is go to the beach with the kids and dog. So it could use a bit more cleaning but could be used as is. That said, for a daily driver to work, perhaps you would do some more interior work. Certainly a new steering wheel.

I am the seller . The rear bumper has the more serious issue. The front bumper has a minor issue. I tried to address the major mechanic issues as well as the wheels and tires situation. I invested a multiple of my initial purchase price . The car now is fun to drive and reliable. There is still more work to be done including the bumper issues . The interior is good for a beach car but for Pebble beach crowd it still need interior work .
So both bumpers are broken? I saw a dent on the rear bumper is that correct? Is there more dents like on the front fender or rear fender?
