This 1998 Mercedes-Benz E320 4Matic Wagon was originally sold and registered in New York by Mercedes-Benz Manhattan where it remained through 2018 under selling dealer maintenance. In 2019, the wagon moved to North Carolina and is currently offered by the selling dealer out of Louisiana as a two-owner example. Finished in Azure Blue Metallic (366) over a Mushroom and Pebble Leather (205) interior, power is provided by a 3.2-liter naturally aspirated V6 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include Xenon headlamps with heated washers, heated seats, a glass power sunroof, automatic climate control, and power windows, locks, and wing mirrors. Recent services include a complete check up, a new battery, and tire rotation. This S210 shows 79k miles and is offered with factory literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Louisiana title.
Finished in Azure Blue Metallic (366), this long-roof example shows original body panels and is reportedly rust-free. The seller notes a trailer hitch was added under their care. Features include Xenon headlamps, a power glass sunroof, roof rails with cross bars, and a rear window wiper. The attached Carfax shows a clean history.
This E320 retains original 16x7.5 wheels. Tires shown are Falken Sincera SN250 all-season tires. Light curb rash can be seen on a few of the wheels and the painted center caps are reportedly in excellent condition. The tires have less than 2k miles on them.
The cabin is trimmed in Mushroom and Pebble Leather (205) across the seats, door cards, head rests, shift knob, and armrest. All leather surfaces are reported to be original and nicely kept. The original Beige carpet floor mats remain with the car and are included in the sale in addition to OEM rubber all-weather floor mats. Burl wood adorns the center console, dashboard, and upper door cards. Additional options include heated front seats with memory function, automatic climate control, and an OEM Becker head unit with AM/FM, cassette, and weather band. The rear facing third row can be seen both stowed and in the upright position in the gallery below.
The digital odometer shows 79k original miles. Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and a digital odometer with trip function. Additional gauges include fuel level, coolant temperature and a digital clock. The screens show no signs of failing LCD pixels and functions properly with an SRS light noted by the seller upon the start up video.
The 3.2-liter M112 V6 was rated at 221 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired with a 722.6 automatic five-speed transmission. Power is sent to all four wheels via the 4Matic drivetrain. Recent services include a complete check up, a new battery, tire rotation, and new brakes within the last 1k miles.
The two-owner Carfax report shows no accidents or damage along with linear mileage updates and 23 service history records. This 1998 E320 4Matic Wagon shows 79k miles and is offered with factory literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Louisiana title.

I’ve been made aware of the SRS light on in the video. I can have that addressed at Mercedes Benz of Lafayette Louisiana for the winning bidder.

@dino24 it is in Opelousas LA
@ByrdDog I did notice this. I do not drive the car much. Seems to stay on. I have not had that addressed.
@Flarson In the video the SRS light is illuminated. Does it go out or is it always on? If the later, any insight as to the issue? Thanks
@Flarson Thanks for the video!

A start-up video has been added to the listing above.
@Autocrat I asked back on Feb 22. It's tough to be a bidder on the opposite coast without videos. I'm sure this is a nice car, but don't think I can stay in the bidding with vids.

@GregF That might be tough to pull off with 4 hours until the auction closes...
How about a startup, running and short driving video?
@Gardy121 Listing says the car is located in Opelousas, Louisiana (according to quick facts section at the top)
@GregF I've had both 4matic and rwd w210s and there's really not much of a difference in everyday driving. It is convenient to have the 4matic for inclement weather though. There were more than a few times where I lost traction without the 4matic so I probably wouldn't switch back to rwd especially since I've got other drivers in the family.

Can anybody speak to the driving differences between a 4matic and regular 2wd? Other than the obvious all wheel drive of the 4matic, what are the pros and cons of each? Thank you all.

Where is the car located? I can’t tell from the description if it is NC or Louisiana.
As a long time owner of a 210 wagon, I can add that these cars have absolutely no weak points in terms of performance. Ample torque throughout the power band. Still repectable 0-60 times even for a 20 years old car. As a 210 E55 owner as well, I would suppose that the wagon handles better than its sedan counterpart. It just feels more planted in curves and I can routinely push into a tight turn at 70 mph without any wiggle. When the suspension is up to snuff, ride is fantastic. Rosd noise with quality tires is virtually non existent. I often ride with the radio off as a result 210 interior fit and finish is not lacking ib the slightest. After putting 60K+ miles (now at 120K+) and taking multiple 1500 round trip, non-fatiguing roaf trips, I can attest that this car has never left me stranded and is a fantasric daily driver. Keep up with basic proactive service, and there is very little to keep one from getting in and driving reliably every single day.

@Flarson Great looking wagon. Are the service records for the previous owners included?
Thanks
@Dolomiti A/C works fine and blows cold. Heater and heated seats both generate heat as they should. All windows and sunroof operational. Everything you need to create your perfect cabin climate in fine working condition.
Also wondering about the AC... any clarification

Underbody photos have been added to the gallery.
@gregf photos of underside to be posted here.
@eli42 Thanks!
@gregf I’m told the vehicle lived at the original owners Southampton home and was used only in summer. It was garaged winters at that home. The car runs and drives beautifully. A/C and heat operate perfectly. The diagnostic I conducted came out clean. Indication was rear brakes needed changing so I did that. Recent oil change as well. I added a tow hitch because I was going to use this car to tow my little Boston Whaler around, however I’ll be moving out of the country come August so everything must go!😭
Can't find these anymore with under 100k miles! Love the color too. GLWA!
Will seller @Flarson be posting any cold start, running and driving videos of the car? I realize it may seem silly to note, but nowhere in the auction writeup does it say that the car actually runs and drives. Does it run and drive properly? Are there any issues with the car that need to be addressed? Has the issue with the AC system been addressed? It appears from the multiple AC recharges/services in a short timeframe that maybe it has a leak or other? Please clarify as I do not want to make any assumptions. For those of us on the west coast, an east coast car usually means a pretty crusty chassis. Can we get pics of the underside to assess the condition? The driver's seat looks to be pretty dry and just starting to show cracking. Have you done anything to treat the leather? As I am on the west coast I need to rely on the pics and videos to determine appropriate bidding. Thank you.
