This 1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 was sold new through Mercedes-Benz of Lynnwood, WA in December 1997. It remained with the original owner in the Pacific Northwest until April 2021 when it was acquired by the selling dealer. Finished in Yellowstone (685) over Black Leather (221A), the car is powered by a 2.3-liter M111 4-cylinder engine paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include an electric-folding paint-matched hardtop, an original Becker head unit, dual-zone climate control, retractable cup holders, and an OEM built-in phone with console controls. This R170 currently shows 55,263 miles on the odometer and is offered with a clean Carfax showing dealer maintenance since new, manufacturer's literature, two original keys, and a clean Washington State title.
Finished in Yellowstone (685), this car has been well-kept and retains original paint on all fenders, hood, trunk, roof, and quarter panels. Paint meter readings have been provided in the gallery. Small rock chips on the nose are noted by the seller along with slight overspray under the front bumper. All the glass is noted as being original along with headlight and taillight lenses. Features include a fully automatic folding hardtop, front fog lamps, headlamp washers, and remote locking.
This example retains the original alloy wheels measuring 16x8 on all four corners. The wheels are wrapped in Continental DW06 tires measuring 205/55. The wheels show no signs of curb rash or damage to the faces.
The cabin is trimmed in Black Leather (221A) across the seats and door cards. Additional leather-trimmed features include the steering wheel and shift knob. All leather surfaces are reported to be original with no tears or scuffs. The Black dashboard is free from cracks along with the upper door cards and tonneau cover. The center console is trimmed in OEM Sport trim and still presents nicely. Features include the original Becker head unit, dual-zone climate control, retractable cup holders, and an OEM built-in phone with console controls. The original SLK branded floor mats are still included with the car.
The digital odometer shows 55,263 original miles and is framed by a four-spoke Sport steering wheel. Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with a 5800-rpm redline, and a digital odometer with trip function. Additional gauges include fuel level, coolant temperature, a digital clock, and digital external temperature gauge.
The 2.3-liter M111 inline 4-cylinder was rated at 190 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired with a 722.6 automatic five-speed transmission. The M111 features a roots-style M62 Eaton supercharger and an air to air intercooler. The car received a fresh oil and filter change last month in preparation for the sale.
This one-owner Yellowstone roadster is offered with factory literature, an original tool kit, two remote key fobs, a valet key, the original spare tire inflator, a clean Carfax with complete records since new, and a clean Washington title from the seller. The photo gallery includes detailed photos of the engine compartment and underbody of this SLK230.

Hi, I don't know how to contact you directly from the website, but I would be interested in purchasing this car from you in the future, if I ever had the extra money. Im 18 so I would have to have extra funds put aside - the reason I am interested in purchasing it is due to the fact that my aunt had owned this car, and I have a lot of memories from it. She passed back in 2012, a decade ago recently. She had this exact same model year, with the rare "Yellowstone" color, except her interior was a little chipped on the plastic glovebox due to use. I remember the car being kind of unreliable, but who knows. Out of all the cars I would love to own, this has always been on my list as number one, as I have a lot of connection to it. If you ever wish to contact me in the future, my contact info is as follows: [email protected] (401) 234-3883

@MB5683 I had an SLK in Magma that my girlfriend loved driving...maybe it's one of those puppy scenarios where you bring it home and they fall in love?

The older these cars become the more attractive they look. I remember 10+ years ago thinking I’d never consider one but it’s aged so well. I have to admit they were always fun to drive after getting the opportunity to take a friends SLK230 for a week back when they were brand new.
