This 2003 Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG was sold new in August 2003 and first registered in Pennsylvania. It was purchased by the most recent owner in April 2004 as a Certified Pre-owned example living in North Carolina and Florida before being acquired by the selling dealer. The car is finished in Obsidian Black (197) over an Anthracite (281) leather interior, and equipment includes Active Body Control suspension, heated and cooled front dynamic seats, factory COMAND with Navigation, parktronic, Bose audio, and much more. It’s powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. In preparation for the sale, the selling dealer has performed a complete fluid flush for the oil, brakes, differential, ABC system, transmission, coolant, and power steering to ensure this example is up to date on maintenance. Additionally, the ABC suspension has been fully sorted with four new accumulators, new lines, all struts and strut boots, along with new valve cover gaskets and more. This S55 AMG is now offered by the selling dealer with 25,496 miles, service records, factory literature, a clean Carfax report, two keys, two key cards, and a clean Florida title.
The exterior is finished in Obsidian Black (197) with matching body cladding and AMG kit, which includes a sculpted front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper accented by quad twin-tipped exhaust outlets. The included Carfax report shows a clean history free from body work or paint and no accidents or damage. Exterior features include a power glass sunroof, bi-xenon headlamps, parktronic parking sensors, power folding mirror, and heated windscreen washers. The seller notes minor rock chips as imperfections across the nose and hood of the car.
Staggered twin-spoke 18″ AMG alloy wheels wear new Continental ExtremeContact tires measuring 245/45 and 265/40 respectively. Tucked behind the original AMG wheels are six-piston brake calipers up front and four-piston in the rear. Brake fluid was flushed as part of the comprehensive fluid flush prior to the listing. Additionally, the ABC suspension has been fully sorted with four new accumulators, new lines, all four struts, and each strut boot.
The interior is trimmed in Anthracite (281) leather across the seats, headrests, door cards, armrest, and door handles. Burl walnut veneer accents the center console, door cards, and dashboard. Original AMG-embroidered floor mats are included in the sale along with an OEM attachable cup holder. Interior equipment includes heated and ventilated dynamic front seats, Bose audio, COMAND with navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power rear window shade, soft close doors, and a power-close trunk. In preparation for the sale, the selling dealer replaced the Dynamic Seat air bladders in both front seats to ensure proper functionality with no leaks.
The Anthracite leather-wrapped steering wheel features paddle shifters and frames factory instrumentation including a 200-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a digital odometer with trip function showing 25,496 miles. Additional gauges include coolant temperature and fuel level. Digital readouts display outside temperature as well as driving gear and mode.
The supercharged 5.4-liter M113 V8 is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission and is rated at 493 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque when new. In addition to the complete fluid flush, this example shows regular dealer service and preventative maintenance on the Carfax history. In preparation for the sale, the valve cover gaskets were both replaced to correct light seepage along with a new trunk strut.
This S55 AMG is now offered by the selling dealer showing only 25,496 miles and comes with service records, factory literature, a clean Carfax report, two keys, two key cards, and a clean Florida title. Walk around and driving videos have been included by the seller along with a video explaining the car's maintenance and service.

Beautiful car. I love that the center caps are lined up with the spokes on the rim, a small detail, but one that says a lot to me about the seller!

@gimicon You're clearly very confused. Im not the company, Im a bidder...lol.
@MBAMG Ask Mercedes Not me. And you are saying the satelite syetem on all 2003 Mercedes doesn't work ??? Are you sure??? Then this car's satelite command doen't work either??? Then you can't change the dates and time properly??? If the satelite systen doesn't work..date and time doesn't work. do you know how much it is for Tele Aid and Command at Mercedes? $9,000 parts alone. And there were some other stuffs too. It's not just a latch if you know anything about Mercedes. I erased the posting because my intention was not to talk down on European Starr...it was total opposite. But wanted to provide a real first hand experience for customers. Don't panic. it's good for you. Credibily is more important than your fees. An don't forget that I am your customer as well.
@EuropeanStarr All true other than the fact that Euroean Starr offered a latch at no cost because European starr told me that it was a leak from the pump problem and found out later that it was a latch from Fletcher Jones. But, I do believe European Starr would've done anything they could to fix the problem.
I just erased my posting because my intention was not to cause any troubles for the seller. The seller is good but just wanted provide my actual experience on buying an old car. But seems like MB Market doen't want me to do so.
@gimicon The car went to a very reputable local shop for a pre-purchase inspection at the request of the buyer. The shop passed the car with flying colors, and they only noticed slight seepage on the differential, which we immediately dropped out and resealed it at no cost to the buyer. We offered to order the door latch and ship to him at no cost, and find a reputable independent Mercedes shop to install. He stopped answering our messages and never reached back out to us.
@gimicon How in the world did you spend $17,000 on a soft close door and satellite radio? Are you trying to get an old analog satellite radio from 2003 to work on 2021 sat systems? That's probably not going to work even if you spend another $17,000. haha. Not trying to throw shade here but, honestly, that doesn't sound very plausible - especially with the stellar reputation that this seller has in the Mercedes community.

We have reached out to user @gimicon requesting substantiation to the claimed costs regarding the last auction. We have not received a response but will update if/when any response or proof is provided.
@gimicon Thanks for the kind words, and we’re sorry to hear that about the silver example. We’d love to see an itemized list of what exactly is wrong and what’s being replaced. We’d be interested in seeing what the dealership is trying to get you to do, and are we willing to fix whatever you need on that car. Please get in contact with us at the shop.

@Alex210 Thank you very much! Today is the day everyone! Happy bidding, this incredible beast goes to a new owner today!

Spectacular example! Great video talking about the car as well
@abutterer it has both dynamic and massage functions, and both work perfectly.
Do these seats have the massage function or just dynamic bolsters? Was it even an option on the 220s?
@W210E55 Thanks for the kind words, and we're happy to hear the E55 is still ripping up the roads for you! We loved that thing and are happy knowing you're keeping up with it.
@zachmac Thank you for the kind words, Zach! Pierre holds W220's very near and dear to his heart. He has a 2006 S65 that is his weekend toy, and uses it as a daily when he doesn't drive his M35A3 Deuce and a half to the shop, which is a sight! Good luck on bidding, let us know if you have any questions about this monster!
I purchased my W210 E55 from this seller last October on eBay. These guys had serviced it for many years and it runs like a champ at 150K miles. They had replaced parts proactively and serviced it exactly as one would like to see on a 148K mile MB. They even explained that they have a machine capable of flushing transmission fluid to get all of the old stuff out of an already maintained tranmission. I have yet to find a shop locally that offers such a service. (Dealership included.) Car was as nice as advertised and seller answered all of my questions over multiple phone calls. I would expect the car listed here to be top notch.

Appreciate Pierre's video but especially the "why would you want to own this vehicle" section. He just nailed it. I owned a 2005 and it's one of those cars I've always regretted selling. GLWA to all but I want this!

@MBstyle Thank you for the kind words! We really appreciate it, and we're honored to hear that we come across as the "Godfathers" of AMG.. We truly do love these incredible machines, and we're happy to hear that our passion for them comes across clearly! Sorry to hear about your experience with ABC Suspension, its very sad to hear that some shops/techs don't take the time to learn the system so people that have vehicles with ABC can enjoy it. You're totally right, these cars do need to be driven to keep them alive, and they honestly should be enjoyed and not stashed away.. at least in our opinion! For ABC suspension, doing a full flush every 10k miles, or every year, would be optimal. We've heard of a few examples that still have their original accumulators in them by doing yearly ABC services. (Technically accumulators have a 10 year life span, so keep that in mind) Yes, its costly, but in the long run it will save you from the headache of having to replace ABC pump, and the two valve blocks.. If the valve blocks have dirty fluid in them for long periods of time, that's when you see cars start leaning and sagging. As for the car maybe going to Europe..We could always help out and try to find a very reputable shop in your area that can take care of the ABC system for you! We can talk for hours about this stuff so we'll cut it there, but thank you all for looking and good luck to everyone!

@EuropeanStarr, I do follow you and your amazing work. You seem to be the "Godfather" of the AMG MB's here. Its good to know that you take care of the most costly parts these cars can request. I was once a victim of a S600L and that ABC system did made me mad in brain and emptiy my vallet regulary. Anyway, there are MB service stations who do not like or they cant to maintane the ABC system....! its surprising that with this low millage all 4 etc had been renewed or at least brought to "no problems " in the next years. as wel gasket ?..so its true, you need to drive and not stock them. all whats moving in oil has to turn to keep it working. But: the ABC need attention in maintenance . is that all 10 or 15k mls to be flushed? I asume that on that huge work carried out here is a sort of garantie too?... how do we handle that if the car goes to Europe...back home where it comes from ? :-) . ....Great car , Great Mechanics, Great seller. these trilogie is a seldom these days. Chapeu.! I follow.... thx ...
