This 2003 Mercedes-Benz E320 was special ordered new from David Michael Mercedes-Benz of Freehold, NJ at an MSRP of $50,160 in 2002 according to the original window sticker. It is finished in Midnight Blue (904) over Pacific Blue Nappa Leather (832) and powered by a 3.2-liter V6 paired with a five-speed electronically controlled touch-shift automatic transmission. The vehicle remained with the original owners from 2003 until their passing earlier this year. Ownership then transferred via the estate to their daughter who immediately sold it to the current owner in April 2022. This W211 now shows only 35k original miles, nearly all of which have been added in Floridian climate where it has resided since 2005. Features on this uniquely-optioned example include Pacific Blue Nappa leather interior, sunroof delete (“slicktop”), non-COMAND “Audio 50” unit w/cassette and 6-disc in-dash CD changer, power-adjustable heated front seats with memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, and pre-installation for telephone and COMAND. Recent service includes an oil/filter change, brake fluid flush and rear brake pads/rotors. Dealer service records show that all Mercedes recall campaigns were completed by the dealer when issued including the SBC brake unit campaign, front axle campaign and battery control unit campaign. This low-mileage W211 is now offered in Georgia on behalf of the current owner with service records from new, original window sticker, original sales deposit form and bill of sale, paint meter readings, manufacturer’s books & literature, original took roll, two keys, a clean Carfax and a clean Florida title.
The sedan is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic (954) and features fog lights, color-matched painted mirror caps with integrated turn signals, amber side markers, chrome grill and chrome trim around the beltline and front & rear bumpers. The paint is reportedly in excellent condition with no major rock chips or road deterioration due to the mileage. The original lower window trim along the sides reportedly retains its original deep black color and has not succumbed to the purple-hued sun-fading that the W211 models are susceptible to. A minor scrape on the rear passenger bumper is noted with specificity in the gallery. The paint is believed to be all original as the Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage reported and consistent paint meter readings on each panel are provided in the gallery below.
Factory 16″ light-alloy, five-star wheels appear in excellent condition with no clear coat fading or curb rash visible in the photos. All four wheels wear Continental ContiProContact tires measuring 225/55 that show date codes from 2014/15 in the rear and 2017 up front. Rear brake pads and rotors were replaced within the last 8k miles and the SBC brake unit recall was completed in 2010. The underbody is rust free and documented in thorough underbody photos viewable in the gallery below.
The cabin features seats upholstered in Pacific Blue Nappa Leather (832) with matching steering wheel, door panels, upper and lower dash, shifter and carpets. Burl walnut trim accents the dashboard, center console, shifter, and doors. The leather presents in excellent condition with no fading, tears or other visible imperfections throughout the cabin. Equipment includes power-adjustable heated front seats with memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, and non-COMAND audio with cassette. The seller reports that all functions of the vehicle – including the collapsible cupholder and center console latches - work 100% as new and a photo showing a 17°F reading from the A/C vents is viewable in the gallery.
The Pacific Blue leather wrapped multifunction steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer shows just over 35,600 miles. The matching blue multifunction steering wheel buttons present in excellent condition with no apparent stickiness or deterioration. The information screen in the cluster reports no malfunctions and shows that the next scheduled service is not due for another 6,700 miles.
The 3.2-liter M112 V6 produced 221 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque when new. A five-speed electronically-controlled touchshift automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels. The front axle sleeves, front axle carrier bolts, battery control unit, voltage regulator, alternator and crank position sensor were replaced under recall by the Mercedes Dealer in 2006. Records for the above are viewable in the gallery.
Paint meter readings for each panel are viewable in the gallery below.
The sale includes service records from new, original window sticker, original order/deposit form, bill of sale, paint meter readings, manufacturer’s books & literature, original took roll, two keys, a clean Carfax and a clean Florida title.
The Carfax report shows no damage or accidents, registration history in Florida since 2005, linear mileage updates, and service history exclusive to Mercedes-Benz dealerships. A driving video is viewable below.
A cold start and warm engine idling video is viewable below.
In 2002, the incoming W211 was a hotly-anticipated commodity following the success of the venerable W210. After $2 billion in development (and a teaser cameo in the 2002 hit Men in Black II), the W211 became a rousing success with over 1.5mm units sold and a huge number of those still on the road today. These cars are ubiquitous throughout the globe due to their incredible reliability, usability, economical gas mileage (in the v6 or CDI variants) and overall excellent Mercedes build quality. It's difficult, therefore, to remember that these were pretty darn special in 2003 and definitely statement-making for any upper-middle class professional lucky enough to get one. Such is the case with this example: the original owners knew this would be a “keeper car” and they maintained it diligently as such until their last days earlier this year. They also knew they wanted something different than any other E-Class on the road, so they ordered it with a slew of unique options – the blue over blue color combination, nappa leather interior, sunroof delete (to protect that unique leather) and an Audio 50 head unit w/CD changer to enjoy the Harman-Kardon sound system without pesky navigation screens that they would either never use or knew would be quickly outdated. Bravo to them. The car was maintained excusively at the dealership and has the receipts to prove it. And with only 35k original miles, no accidents or damage and a well-documented history, this W211 is not only one of the most unique examples we’ve ever seen but also one of the most well-loved and well-documented. It's hard to find a fault anywhere in the car, if we’re honest, and we’re sure bidders will feel the same way. Winning this one would be like special ordering your own unique W211 in mid-2002: offering a nearly-new driving experience to the new owner and a near-guarantee that you’ll never see another one like it. While the W211 E320 may be a little removed from collector’s status at the moment, this first-year example would surely be one of the first to achieve that status: with its low mileage, unique build sheet and impeccable history.

I dont think I've ever seen one of these where the gloss black trim still looks new and fresh like that...all of them are faded and have long since turned purple. That little detail alone is worth the price of admission on this one! GL!
Down to the final half hour and I'm here to answer questions as needed. A reminder to any new bidders: make sure your credit card information on file is updated/correct so you don't miss out on any last minute bids. I've seen that happen before so better to be prepared. This is an excellent example of a superbly special sedan. I know the next owner will enjoy it for many years to come as both a reliable, efficient MB and a wholly-unique, custom-optioned cruiser. Good Luck to everyone and Thanks!
This is such an amazingly cool W211. I didn't even know you could do custom orders like this on an E320 back in the day....this was heavy duty back then. Very cool to see and nicely presented. Wish I had the room. Good Luck!

@Will140 Correct! There’s a “hidden” 6 disc changer in the console as well as a door-covered cassette player above it.
Ahh yes, cassette aux is what I have for use in other cars. I have looked at (all) these pics 2 or 3 times, but I saw what looked like a CD changer under the flap. In looking again, it looks like it must pivot both ways to open to a changer as well as cassette - confirm? Unfamiliar with this stereo. Thanks!
I used a Bluetooth wireless cassette adapter which actually worked great. Not sure about audio options beyond that but it’s definitely a great cruiser (with much better mpg than my M120-powered 96 w140). Thanks!
@ariotofmyown thanks. I am keeping my eye on this car as a no-fuss, reliable cruiser so I don't have to keep beating up my 97 V12 on road trips. Of course I would want to use my portable hi-res music device in it, so I'm not sure what bluetooth options (but preferably Aux) might be available. On my S, all I did was pull the factory unit, and the Pioneer reference-standard unit was 100% plug-and-play with the then-premium Bose amp and speakers, and sounds amazing. I am trying to figure out the can of worms that one may open trying anything similar on this car.
@Will140 Thanks. You may very well be right about that. It’s a 10-speaker system (as per the original window sticker) but not sure if they were produced by HK or not in 2003. For what it’s worth, the stereo sounds just as nice as the HK w211’s I’ve owned. I never really loved the digital EQ on the HK surround option systems, personally.
Ad states "Harmon Kardon without the Nav," but I do not see HK on the options list, nor on the speaker covers - so I am pretty sure this is the all-around base sound system?

This car and it's unique color combo really speaks to me...GLWA! What a nice car!
@Toby1ia Thank you! The color combination and overall condition of this car is really outstanding. Probably the best W211 example I've ever seen. The Montana plate was put on as decoration for the photoshoot simply because it says "W211" (which is the chassis code for this model) and the black plate looks more attractive. The car has no affiliation with Montana...apologies if that was confusing. Yes, the car is currently located in southern Georgia with a clean Florida title. Feel free to reach out to me directly by clicking the "message seller" button if you have questions/would like to discuss further. Thanks and Good Luck!
Beautiful sedan... for clarity and administrative purposes, the car is titled in Florida, resides in Georgia, but is registered/plated in Montana? I'm trying to think through what type of documents or difficulties might arise if I were to bring it to Arizona. Thank you and again, beautiful auto.
