Basically you'll start smelling fuel in the cabin area so they have to pull the second row seats and replace the tank (or the neck if thats where the leak is). I remember getting the extended warranty notice about it in the mail but never used it on any of the cars except the E55 since the repair isn't useable unless the leak occurs. So, if it hasnt happened on this one over 16 years, its likely not going to be an issue. But, if it is, its not a huge deal to repair/replace. On a personal note - these are wonderful wagons so I'd definitely recommend getting one if you're considering it. Good Luck!
I usually hate the chrome version of these 124 wheels but it really works well on a black coupe. Great car and great presentation - GLWA!
