What an interesting interpretation of the exotic racers of the 80s superimposed on w126! I think I would probably put some spacers behind the wheels to push them out flush with the fender flares to give it that mean looking stance, but other than that it certainly looks the part. I must admit that reading the first part of the description had me anticipating some wild 5.5-liter custom high horsepower motor or maybe an M113K, but as I scrolled down I saw and read that it has the stock 5.6-liter M117 with 238 horsepower so apparently just a typo at the top of the description and also in the quick facts. That is a very unique widebody! Best of luck with the sale!!!
Nice Tri-Y's! I recently bought a set for my AMG SEC complete with heat shields and downpipes. I paid $1,200 delivered, but still have to spend ~$400 for ceramic coatings. I just sold a set last week for r107's for $1,600. They weighed 29.6lbs and cost $117 to have them professionally packaged at the UPS store and shipped ground about 1,000 miles away with $1,700 of insurance, if that helps.
ULTRA cool!!! Brazil delivery too, I bet that is a cool story. I see Mr. Buxbaum himself is bidding. I wonder if he did the work at Central and maybe he remembers it since it is one of the rare 500SEC's instead of the much more common 560SEC, and a 5.4L as well? Same big wing as my '85 500SEC AMG which I believe is rare on the coupes. Looks like the self-leveling rear suspension still works too. Amazing!!!
Cool looking car! I see the body kit is listed as aftermarket / D&W. Do we know if anything on the car is AMG other than the AMG badge on the rear?
@StarPeopleWorld I have not heard of the term "M117/9". What this seems to be is an M119 that has been backdated with some M117 parts to work in the older W126 chassis. If you want to combine engine codes, wouldn't it be more accurate to use M119/7 since the engine actually started life as a factory Mercedes M119 which was later modified with M117 and AMG parts? When folks think of an AMG 32v DOHC 6.0 in a w126, they whink of an M117 with the custom AMG 32v heads. This car has M119 Mercedes heads, not the custom heads that AMG made for the M117. This is the important clarification. Cool car, and best of luck with the sale!
