The DOHC M104 absolutely sings at that 7k RPM redline. I had a 1990 300CE many years ago and still miss it. Good luck with the sale!

Super cool car! My wife would kill me, though, seeing as how I just sold mine. Curious as to what your acceleration numbers are with the torquey diesel and 5 speed. I bet it's a hoot to drive!! GLWA

@lakers91325 I'm glad it's going to someone that will appreciate it. I put a lot of work into this one and didn't want some body that was going to thrash on it. I'll be in touch soon!

Thanks again to everyone for watching, asking, and bidding. And if you're wondering about selling on this site, I was absolutely blown away by the customer service and communication. 10/10 recommendation.

@css008I put the transmission in around 500-1000 miles ago. I really haven't driven the car all that much in the last three years since I've owned it. I bought it to do the transmission swap, but have since decided I'm a carpenter, not a mechanic.

Regarding the mileage on the transmission itself, I'm not sure. I bought it as a kit from a guy out of California on ebay and supplemented the other needed parts as necessary.

That's the truth. I know it's not perfect and I wish I could tell you it was new old stock, I'm just not 100% sure.

@css008In pictures 13, 14, and 18 there is visible slight damage. This consists of a small linear ding below the tail light on the back, and a more irregular small dent just in front of the rear tail light on the side. These are aftermarket tail lights. I bought the car this way and am unsure what caused that damage. The Carfax doesn't show any major accidents but I can't accurately speak to it more than that.

There is some rust at the jack mounts.

The rust you see is the rust you get. I tried to take representative pictures without having covered anything.

@css008 I have not had it professionally evaluated, but it looks like surface rust at this point. I know that's not definitive but hopefully helps. Thanks @blakelyleonard for the consult!

You are correct regarding the rear end. The factory automatic had a 2.85. After the manual swap I was disappointed with the performance and, after some research, realized it was because that transmission came from the factory with a 3.27. After swapping in the correct ratio the car came to life! It's not going to beat an AMG off the line but now it feels like how the original engineers would have intended.

Seller here. That's the clutch line. The transmission that I bought had a damaged hardline so I got that braided line made at a local parts store. I got it made too long so that I wouldn't run into issues with it being to short and that's where the extra length decided it should stay.
