This 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300D was sold new through Crossroads Mercedes-Benz of Roanoke, Virginia. It spent time between Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia between three owners and has received consistent service with the current owner since 2012. Finished in Pearl Blue Metallic (348) over Blue MB-Tex (172), this W124 is powered by an OM602 turbo diesel paired to a 5-speed manual transmission from a 190E. The odometer currently shows 257,393 miles, approximately 50k of which have been added by the seller. Features include functional cruise control, air conditioning, a sliding sunroof, and an aftermarket head unit with Bluetooth capabilities. The car is now being offered by the seller with a clean Carfax report showing regular service, the factory toolkit, manufacturer’s literature, two keys, and a clean Georgia title.
The exterior is finished in Pearl Blue Metallic (348) with all original panels. The body was repainted several years ago in the factory color due to clear coat issues on the roof and trunk. The seller notes a couple small rock chips on the nose in addition to a small ding in the deck lid, pictured in the gallery. The original lower body cladding is finished in Grey and doesn’t show any cracks. An aftermarket tow hitch has been installed along with appropriate wiring for trailer lights. Below the headlights, aftermarket LED running lights have been afixed to the car which are removable and currently inoperable. Features include a power sunroof with tilt function, aftermarket clear corner lights, and a power antenna.
Original 15” Gullideckel wheels are fitted and wear Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 tires measuring 205/65 on all four corners. The wheels are the originals and show no signs of curb rash or bends.
On the interior, the seats, door cards, center console, and dashboard are upholstered in original Blue MB-Tex (172) with a Blue upper dash and grey headliner. Zebrano veneer accents the dashboard, doors, and center console. The lowest panel surrounding the shifter is faded and no longer retains a factory finish. Interior features include power-adjustable seats, an aftermarket head unit with Bluetooth capability, cruise control, and fully functioning air conditioning and heat. The shifter boot is black leather and surrounds an aftermarket wood shift knob.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph analog speedometer, 6k-rpm tachometer, and an analog odometer with trip function showing 257,393 miles. Additional gauges include fuel level and coolant temperature, along with an analog clock. The gauge faces have been modified with white overlays on top of the original faces. The white faces feature brighter backlighting.
The 2.5-liter OM602 five-cylinder turbo diesel was rated at 121 horsepower and 165 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission swapped over from an era-correct 190E. The swap was performed by the seller almost ten years ago using OEM parts. This 300D has received regular maintenance over the years using Mercedes-Benz recommended parts and as well as regular fluid flushes every 5k miles.
A clean Carfax report accompanies the car showing no accidents or damge, regular service, and linear mileage updates throughout its history. The car is now being offered by the seller with the factory toolkit, manufacturer’s literature, two keys, various spare parts including an injector rebuild kit, and a clean Georgia title.
Is there anything more indicative of W124 build quality than a diesel E-Class with a manual transmission? Granted this example wasn’t originally built as a manual, the swap is easily a testament to how easy these cars are to work on when you have the OEM parts. For these reasons alone, the W124 is one of our favorite Mercedes-Benz models before we even talk about the timeless lines that make these cars instant classics. We were lucky enough to go for a ride in this car and listen to the owner talk about the multiple cross-country trips made with working AC, cruise control, and W124 style. A true enthusiast’s car, we hope this example finds a home that continues to appreciate it for all the right reasons.

@GA_BCO Apologies! I've had to travel for family this week and have been on and off planes. The car is just north-east of the perimeter towards the lake. Thanks everyone!
I sent a message yesterday
Solid driver- respect on this one, it'll most likely outlast all of us.
Good afternoon everyone, I'm pleased to announce the reserve has been lifted and my diesel companion will be going to a new home! I'm available as needed throughout the auction to answer questions, etc. I'm confident the next owner/caretaker will find as much enjoyment as I have out of this 124.

@Baileystuff Apologies for the delay. The trunk measures 52 wide by 36 deep by 18.5 high (in inches). This is absolutely a steal compared to wagons and an awesome daily.
I was thinking that I wanted a wagon but I am changing my mind. Could the seller, or anyone else, tell me the (W x L x H) of the trunk? Thank you

The manual transmission alone in this car is worth considerable money as you can't even find them anymore. I looked for years trying to find one for my 190E

Super cool car! My wife would kill me, though, seeing as how I just sold mine. Curious as to what your acceleration numbers are with the torquey diesel and 5 speed. I bet it's a hoot to drive!! GLWA
