This 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300SD was reportedly first purchased by and registered to Perry Como with later history showing registration in Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Puerto Rico. Finished in Pastel Grey (740) over Gray Leather (238), this sedan is powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-five paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. More than 30 years of records are included with this car showing service history and ownership records since new in addition to the original window sticker. Features include factory rear SLS, a power sunroof, power windows, power mirrors, automatic climate control, and the original Becker head unit. This W126 shows 106k miles and is offered by the selling dealer with factory literature, comprehensive service records, the original window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
The car is finished in Pastel Grey (740) with contrasting gray lower body cladding. The selling dealer has included detailed paint meter readings in the gallery and shows the left front fender to have received paintwork previously. In addition, the glass is original with OEM logos displayed and no delamination visible in the rear window. Exterior features include North American Market headlamps, original brightwork, a power sunroof, power antenna, and a dual-tone black and blue pinstripe.
Factory 14″ wheels wear 195/70 Toyo tires showing 2020 date codes. Braking is handled by disc brakes at all four corners.
The cabin is trimmed in Gray Leather (238) with color-coordinated trim, carpets, and lower dashboard. The steering wheel, shift knob, and upper dashboard are trimmed in black and remain original. Original Zebrano wood adorns the dashboard, center console, and door card trim. Factory features include a power-operated sunroof, central locking, power seats and windows, and an original Becker head unit. All power features are reportedly working and operational. Light creasing is visible on the seats.
A four-spoke airbag steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-RPM tachometer with an inset analog clock, an external temperature readout, and a combination gauge showing fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit analog odometer shows 106k original miles.
The 3.0-liter OM617 turbodiesel inline-five was factory-rated for 120 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. More than 30 years of service and history records accompany the 300SD with recent records showing a new water pump, new fuel filters, an A/C service, a valve adjustment, and a retrofitted Klima heater valve. Additional underbody photos are viewable in the gallery.
The attached Carfax report lists no accidents or damage along with linear mileage updates since new. This W126 shows 106k miles and is offered by the selling dealer with factory literature, comprehensive service records, the original window sticker, a clean Carfax, and a clean Georgia title.

Do you have info online re TD wagon or on other S models coming? I’m making Christmas gift decision for wife. 352 233-8580. Thanks
Thanks to all for the comments and bidding. A 98% original paint 106k mile fully documented and well sorted 300SD needs to bring a bit more than the high bid here. We'll keep marketing the car. Keep an eye out for my ultra-rare 1985 280TE Euro wagon coming to MB Market soon.
I wonder how high the reserve was....

I should mention that we largely corrected the 2 spots of discoloration in the rear footwells. Looks much better now.

Not that it matters much, but it does not have an “airbag steering wheel”. The one shown in the gallery is the much sleeker, (prettier in my opinion) non airbag steering wheel.

I agree with @Awismot and @thewandering280e Pastel Grey is a very elegant color. I sold a spotless 82 300D in pastel grey/blue mb tex earlier in the year.

Pastel grey is a fantastic color, that was unfortunately rarely ordered. I love it on my 280 E!
Stunning condition, and that color!
