This 1994 Mercedes-Benz E320 Wagon is a one-owner car showing California registration from new with just 44k miles on the odometer. Finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) over Gray MB-Tex (178), power is provided by a 3.2-liter DOHC inline-six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Factory equipment includes an electric sliding sunroof, self-leveling rear suspension, central locking, power mirrors, power front seats, cruise control, automatic climate control and a rear-facing third-row bench. Partial service history is included in the service booklet with the most recent maintenance including new sway bar bushings. This S124 is now offered for sale by the selling dealer with the original manufacturer’s literature, the original tool kit, a clean one-owner Carfax report and a clean California title.
The exterior is finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) and features contrasting lower body cladding which is separated by chrome body trim. Exterior features include a black roof rack, front fog lamps, heated windshield washers, heated and power-adjustable door mirrors, an automatic antenna, a rear-window wiper and an electrically-operated sliding steel sunroof. The seller reports that the rear hatch was previously repainted. Minor rock chips are visible at the front of the vehicle with no signs of body damage or corrosion present.
The factory 15” 8-hole alloy wheels are fitted with Michelin Energy MXV4 tires which measure 195/65 on all four corners. The date codes read 1995 and the seller notes that the tires will need replacement. No signs of curb rash or corrosion are visible on the wheels. The standard self-leveling rear suspension ensures a constant ride height at the rear of the vehicle. The factory spare is mounted in the rear along with the original tool kit.
The cabin is trimmed in Gray MB-Tex (178) with matching headliner, carpets and floor mats while Zebrano wood trim lines the center console, dashboard and door panels. The wood trim shows no signs of cracking or fading. Both front seats offer 10-way power adjustability with two-position memory for the driver. Interior appointments include an electrically-telescoping steering column, cruise control, automatic climate control, a 6-speaker Active Bass audio system, a 60/40 split-folding second row, a retractable partition net and a folding rear-facing third row. The seller notes that the vanity mirror lights are not functional along with the courtesy lamp and that the radio has occasional issues with sound clarity.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure. A digital outside temperature sensor is mounted centrally at the bottom of the cluster. The six-digit odometer currently shows just 44k miles from new.
This S124 is powered by a 3.2-liter M104 inline-six which is factory rated for 217 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Partial service history is included in the service booklet with the most recent maintenance from November 2022 including new sway bar bushings. Underbody photos have been provided by the seller and show no signs of corrosion.
The Carfax report shows just one owner from new with registration reported in California since April 1994. Linear mileage updates are shown with no accidents or damage reports present. This 1994 E320 Wagon is now offered for sale in Burlingame, California with the original manufacturer’s literature, the original tool kit, a clean Carfax report and a clean California title.
A thorough walk around and interior tour video has been provided below along with detailed driving footage.
For many, the W124 is considered one of the best constructed sedans of all time sporting impossibly good build quality, timeless styling and an impeccable ride. Logically, the S124 carries over the same qualities to form one of the greatest wagons as well. While many have accumulated thousands of well-earned miles, this facelift example is a diamond in the rough showing just one owner with a remarkable 44k on the clock. Finished in a classic Black Pearl Metallic, this S124 serves as a time capsule to the mid 1990s illustrating what it must have been like to own the ultimate utilitarian Mercedes-Benz in the Sacco era. With features like a rear-facing third row and a retractable partition net, this E320 is sure to delight the longroof enthusiast and attract a ton of attention to those in the know.

Thanks to all for the nice comments and bidding. The feeling is that this wagon is generally not replaceable hence the family has opted to continue marketing the car.
I'd of put it @ 40G but that's just my take.

that's one of the cleanest S124's I've seen in a Long Long time. Door pocket are about my Only gripe that will actually take more then a minure to rectify. ..No way this is selling @ 18G, but hopefully who ever does end up with this car cares and maintains her properly. GLWTA!
We're within an hour of someone being able to own this investment grade 124 wagon. This is an opportunity that may not come up again for a long time. As I mentioned in the video, E320 wagons of this caliber are virtually impossible to find. Eminently usable, attractive and comfortable, a great 124 wagon is always in vogue. I encourage bidders to review all 250+ images to understand just how exceptional this wagon is. Non-dealer California residents will pay applicable tax and license fees. This wagon is sold as-is with no warranty implied or otherwise. Good luck to all bidders.
This is a really fine car and I’d love to own it. Likely in everyone’s top 5 of the best cars ever produced. Enjoy!

@roup1 The Wagon is registered through April 2024 so all is good.
@mbheritage thanks for that information. I know that the DMV can be very strict about that. So how was it registered all those years without smog? Was it a PNO (Planned Nonoperation)? Is the California registration current now?
@roup1 I can only presume the car was not being used. The owners lived out of the country and used the car when in Northern California.
@Jtwoods4 Good questions! The car was used when an out of country family periodically visited their property in Burlingame, CA. Thankfully I have a network that knows I'm looking for certain cars and I was tipped when it went to the detail shop I use here. I'm not familiar with DOT codes prior to 2000 but tires certainly could be original and of course need to be replaced. Lovely car with none of the hard use most 124 wagons suffered. Hope this helps.

@mbheritage Beautiful S124! Just curious why there's no smog tests from 2006 to 2023.
If you already told the story in the videos I'll go watch them and see if the details are there.
So what's the story on this car? Tires from 1995? Please give us some more details. Where did you find the car? What's the story what's going on here?
