This 1999 Mercedes-Benz CL500 was first registered in Nevada with later registration in California, Virginia and Georgia and shows 138k miles from new. Finished in Black (040) over Black Nappa Leather (231), power is provided by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Equipment includes a power tilt/slide glass sunroof, a power rear sunshade, power adjustable heated front seats, Bose audio, self-leveling rear suspension, Xenon headlamps and Parktronic parking sensors. Maintenance performed under current ownership includes a new catalytic converter, new ignition coils and new valve cover gaskets. This flagship coupe is now offered for sale by the current owner with a clean Carfax report and a clean Georgia title.
The exterior is finished in Black (040) and features dual-pane pillarless windows as well as a power tilt/slide glass sunroof, rain sensing wipers, Xenon headlamps and Parktronic parking sensors. Minor rock chips are visible at the front of the car with no signs of rust or body damage present. The Carfax shows no accidents or damage reports and the paint is believed to be original.
Upgraded 18” AMG five-spoke wheels from a later AMG model have been fitted and wear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 255/40 front and 285/35 rear. The date codes shown on the tires are from 2015. Minor scratches are visible in the finish of the wheels with no major signs of curb rash or damage. The CL500 comes standard with self-leveling rear suspension and ASR slip control. A spare tire can be found mounted below the trunk floor along with the factory jack.
The cabin is trimmed in Black Nappa Leather (231) with Burl Walnut wood trim lining the center console, dashboard and door panels. The wood trim is in good condition showing no cracks or discoloration. Both front seats are heated and offer 12-way power adjustability with three-position memory. Interior features include dual-zone automatic climate control, Bose audio with a trunk-mounted CD changer, an electrostatic cabin air filter and a power rear sunshade. The front seats fold forward to allow access to the second row. The seller notes that the belt handler retracts too far but still functions normally.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer along with a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The digital odometer currently reads just over 138k miles with 4k miles added by the current owner in the past two years.
This C140 is powered by a 5.0-liter 32-valve M119 V8 which is factory rated at 315 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque which is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. Maintenance from 2021 included a new catalytic converter and new ignition coils with new valve cover gaskets installed in 2022.
The Carfax report shows linear mileage updates from new with no accidents or damage reports. Now showing 138k miles, this CL500 is offered by the current owner in Peachtree City, Georgia with a clean Carfax report and a clean Georgia title.
A walk-around video has been provided by the seller below.
The C140 chassis represents an era of uncompromising luxury and build quality which is often compared to a bank vault, and its Bruno Sacco styling is simple, elegant and monolithic. The interior is designed purely for comfort, with soft Nappa leather and rich wood trim throughout. Coming from a time of “more is more” when it comes to buttons, the center console operates as a command center allowing the driver to operate the many functions of the car from an arm’s distance. The 32-valve M119 V8 engine and 722.6 transmission accelerate the car smoothly and effortlessly while providing peace of mind with a proven track record for reliabiltiy. This example has been well cared for and shows a clean history which should make for a worry-free experience for its lucky new owner.

Looks like undercarriage oil leakage. Any idea from where? Has the rear main seal been done?
If so… Two1three3one0two14seven.
Are you close to Atlanta? I have a relative who resides in Atlanta is there any way that I can have them come and physically see and test drive the vehicle? Please let me know at your earliest convenience.

@TheEd thanks for that information. I couldn't when the fun with wiring stopped
@tbssd the biodegradable harnesses had been addressed prior to this model year. MY 1996 and newer received non-biodegradable harnesses.
@tbssd I do not think the wire harness has been changed and I do not have the factory wheels.
Have the wiring harnesses been changed? Do you have the original wheels?
@Jonnycomelately That's an interesting factoid!

Rare bird here. One of only 19 final year CL500 coupes. along with 15 of the V12 CL600's. 34 total North American C140's in 1999 to finish the model run.
Nice Facebook flip from Augusta!
