This 1990 Mercedes-Benz 300CE is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) under the Midnight Blue Metallic wrap over Brazilian Brown Leather (263) interior, and power is provided by a 3.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes an authentic AMG body kit, 17" painted AMG Aero I wheels, electrically-adjustable front seats, a power sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an aftermarket Kenwood stereo head unit. The car is believed to have been upfitted by AMG Westmont and comes with photo documentation from the 90's showing the car with the AMG upgrades, and registration history in the Chicago area since new. The car was in storage from 2009 until 2024 when the previous owner performed an extensive service to get the car back on the road. Service in 2024 includes a new fuel system, drive belts, valve cover gasket, coolant flush, oil service, and more. In 2025, the current owner refinished the wheels, a complete suspension refresh, and wrapped the car. This C124 is now offered on behalf of the seller in Marietta, Georgia with and odometer reading just under 152k miles and includes recent service records, a spare OEM grille, wooden center glove box, a Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
The car is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) under the Midnight Blue Metallic wrap with a full authentic Gen 1 AMG body kit. The body kit consists of both front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and a Westmont molded trunk spoiler, all of which were also used on the AMG Hammer at the time. Additional features include headlight wipers, a painted sunroof with tilt function, and rear antenna. The seller reports there are some blemishes in the paint and the spoiler shows some cracks with pictures provided from the previous listing. The original painted grille has been installed to keep the car period correct and can be seen in photos from the ‘90s with the original owner posting next to his car on the first day of ownership. Richard Buxbaum remembers the client and the car when they built it new. New headlight lenses were installed in 2024.
17" AMG Aero I wheels were sent out to California to be stripped of their original, deteriorated chrome finish and now have painted centers with a silver lip and wear Pirelli P7 Cinturato with 2022 date codes. These Aero I Monoblocks are of a staggered setup measuring 225/45 front and 245/40 rear and just had new valve cores and grommets installed. Butler Tire of Marietta did a complete suspension overhaul including:
The cabin features Brazilian Brown Leather (263) upholstery with matching original Mercedes-Benz carpets. Burl wood trim accents the center console, dash, and door cards with some cracking visible around the shifter and window switches. Amenities include electrically-adjustable front seats, a functional power tilt/sliding sunroof, working automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Kenwood headunit. The headliner is shown in the gallery and is in good condition without any sagging. The power operated seatbelt handlers also work. The front passenger window does not roll down while all others function. An upgraded Kenwood KDC-X705 headunit was installed by the current owner and features Bluetooth capabilities. The rear glass shows a crack.
The airbag-equipped four spoke steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, 8k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and additional auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and instant economy. The odometer reads just under 152k miles.
The 3.0-liter M104 DOHC inline-six produced 217 horsepower and 195 ft/lbs when new and is paired with a four-speed 722.3 automatic transmission. These M104.980 3.0-liter engines had a 7,000 RPM redline and was the first generation of M104 in the 124 platform, replacing the 2V per cylinder M103. The car had been sitting since 2009 and the previous owner has performed extensive services to get the car running and driving. Service includes a new fuel system with the replacement of fuel hoses, fuel strainer, fuel pumps, fuel filter, fuel crush washers, new fuel injectors, seats and seals, and cleaned fuel hard lines. The drive belt has been replaced along with the valve cover gasket. An engine oil service and coolant flush was also performed. A new battery was installed in preparation for the sale. Underbody photos are provided in the gallery.
The Carfax report lists no accidents or other damage, and registration history in the Chicago area since new. A duplicate title was issued in 1994 causing the report to show not actual mileage, however, all mileage updates are linear on the report. This C124 is now offered in MArietta, Georgia with recent service records, an OEM grill, wooden center glove box, a Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
A walk around and driving video of the car has been provided by the seller below.
AMG Chicago was run by Richard Buxbaum who oversaw Hartmut Feyhl who built the legendary Westmont Hammers in the late ‘80s. Not only did they build the fastest four door cars in the world, but customers could walk in and spec their Mercedes-Benz to look like whatever they could imagine. This 300CE is an example of just that happening. AMG Chicago was like the Burger King of Mercedes: You could have it your way. Mercedes-Benz introduced the high-revving twin cam M104 which was an evolution of the M103 engine that punched out approximately 40 more horsepower than the outgoing engine. It had reworked heads that were directly influenced by the Cosworth designed M102 16-valve seen in the 2.3-16v W201. These engines sing. We’re happy to see all of the AMG work done to an early M104 car as it accents its sporting nature. The body kit, wheels, and deck lid alone are worth a small fortune. Luckily for bidders, you get a whole running, driving, and well serviced car on top of all that complete with a Midnight Blue Metallic wrap, a huge suspension refresh by a specialty tire and suspension shop, and a car that has one of the best side profiles we’ve ever seen. Just look at it. That’s what you call a perfect stance. This genuine AMG C124 would be a great addition to a RADwood show that would be fighting for trophies and can have endless miles put on the odometer without the value plummeting like a low mileage example.

Welcome to this Westmont built C124 auction! This is a very cool car as I'm a fan of 3.0-liter early C124s as it got the high revving M104. But on top of that, this has a full Westmont AMG body kit including the signature Westmont metal welded trunk spoiler that a lot o the Hammers got. Mark Para rescued this car and mechanically went through it before my friend who currently owns the car bought it. He then did a very thorough suspension refresh with Butler Tire's classic Mercedes-Benz specialist (shoutout to Wayne) to get the suspension dialed in and the stance corrected. This car has some patina and miles on it, which I'll argue is a good thing. It's rare to be able to buy a Westmont AMG and then reliably log miles on it or daily drive it without worrying about loss of value. This car is just that. Tight suspension, cold A/C, and a healthy engine this one has. It's ready to boogie. Please look through the gallery and watch my video. I will be getting pictures of the AMG body kit stampings and undersides uploaded tomorrow, so stay tuned! I'm open for phone calls and please comment or PM if you need anything from me or if I missed an important detail that needs clarification. Thanks!
