This 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16v Cosworth was originally sold new in Pennsylvania with first registration noted in January 1987. The car shows Montana registration from 2006-2018 and then relocated to Florida with the current seller's acquisition. Finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) over an Anthracite Leather (271) interior, power comes from a 2.3L 16-valve I4 developed by Cosworth mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes factory Recaro bucket seats in the front and rear, a sunroof, cruise control, air conditioning, electric windows, and a dash mounted timer. An extensive service was performed in 2018 and most recently in September 2015, the car received new engine mounts, transmission mount, and an AC service in preparation for the sale. Records since the seller acquired the car in 2018 will be included in the sale. Now with only 33k miles, this W201 Cosworth is offered by the seller with two keys, original manufacturer's literature, full-size spare, car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Minnesota title.
This 190E 2.3-16v is finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) with matching lower cladding and bumper inserts. The model-specific body kit is specific to the Cosworth specs and includes a deeper aerodynamic chin spoiler, extended side skirts, rear air dam, fender flares, and trunk spoiler. Other exterior features include a sliding sunroof with tilt function, an electrically adjustable side mirror, and fog lights. Detailed photos of the exterior can be seen in the gallery.
Factory 15” Gullideckel wheels are mounted and wear their original chrome finish with matching center caps. Falken Ziex tires are mounted measuring 205/55 and were mounted in 2018. A full-size spare is located under the trunk floor along with the factory jack.
The seats are upholstered in Anthracite leather (271) with matching door panels and carpeting. Notable features include factory power-adjustable Recaro front sport seats, individual rear Recaro bucket seats, cruise control, power windows, power locks, and an original Becker head unit. Zebrano wood trim accents the center console where additional gauges for oil temperature and battery volatge are located along with a lap timer. The Becker head unit was refurbished in 2018 by Becker.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 160mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel economy, and fuel level. There are no warning lights currently illuminated and the six-digit odometer shows 33,230 miles.
The 2.3-liter 16v M102 4-cylinder was developed in collaboration with Cosworth and power was rated at 194 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an automatic four-speed transmission. The most recent service in preparation for the sale was completed in September 2025 and included new engine mounts, transmission mount, and an AC service. Accompanying service records from 2022 show an oil service and 2019 show a new sunroof motor was installed along with a radio antenna and right front door latch. Additionally in 2018, the car received a brake fluid flush, transmission service, oil change, coolant flush, new engine and cabin air filter, new central locking pump, shifter bushings, ignition lock housing, all four tie rods and center link, drive belt, and valve cover gasket.

@JoeyBenz08, not that I know of. I will paint meter the entire car and upload measurements on Monday! Thank you JoeAny repainted panels? Thanks JoeMy girlfriend isn't so hot on manuals but loves an auto W201. Would look so good next to her 190E Avantgarde Rosso and E63 wagon. I guess I'm going to send her this listing and subliminally brainwasher her to bid on this.Hello @MBFahrer, I don’t recall seeing any fading on the grille, nor can I locate it in any of the photos in the gallery. Since all photos are numbered, please let me know which specific picture you’re referring to. Regarding storage — when I purchased the car, it was kept under a car cover (included with the sale) in the seller’s garage. Since then, it has always been stored in my personal garage and has never spent a night outside. I’ll record a full walkaround video on Monday when I return to Miami to show the condition of the paint and grille in detail. Thank you!How much time has this car spent outside? Lots of fading on the grille, top of the front bumper, door handles, plastic roof trim, etc. 33k miles should be a total time capsule. The engine bay looks like somebody went crazy with greasy detail spray too.$10,500 bid placed by @ferrari1971

@Jay_Gibbs, you are absolutely correct it's a 4 spd AT not a 5 spd. Thank you@95Cab, thank you for your questions. This 190E 2.3-16V has been part of a large Mercedes-Benz collection since 2018. I’ve added only about 650 miles during my ownership. The car was serviced in 2018 ($4,953.66), again in 2019 ($1,533.58), in 2022 ($190), and most recently in 2025 ($1,252). It was never exposed to snow while in Minneapolis for a few months before permanently moving to Miami in 2019. I’ll post a driving video and detailed suspension photos once I return to Miami on Monday, 10/27. Here’s a short list of minor items needed to make the car perfect: * The plastic trim on the left side of the instrument panel has a crack. * The A/C is somewhat weak. It was recharged two weeks ago; I’ll check again when I’m back. If it’s not holding a charge, the next owner may want to locate and fix the leak. Otherwise, this is an excellent, low-mile example of a well-cared-for 190E featuring the legendary Cosworth powerplant. As for why I’m selling — I’ve reached a point where managing 100 cars has become too much, so I’m downsizing to around 75 to keep things more manageable. Thank you for your interest, and happy bidding!$10,000 bid placed by @pillestein

If this car is equipped with its factory delivered transmission, it is a four speed automatic, not a five speed as stated in the description.Records from 2018 on? What was the car doing for those years? How stored? Undercarriage pictures since lived up north? Driving video coming? Nice car. Why selling? Thank you.
