This 1992 Mercedes-Benz 300CE was ordered new in Japan as a left-hand drive example. The car was imported to the United States in March 2024 by the selling dealer and is now located in Virginia. Finished in Black over Black Leather (261), power is provided by a 3.0-liter 24v M104 inline-six paired to a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include power windows, a power sunroof, automatic seatbelt extending arms, an original Becker head unit, cruise control, and air conditioning. The seller reports recent services to include a new fuel level sending unit, tie rod end assembly, brake fluid flush, front and rear brake rotors, all new tires, and a repaired air filter housing. This C124 currently shows 64k kilometers (~40k miles) on the odometer and is offered by the selling dealer with the factory tool kit, recent service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Virginia title.
Finished in Black with matching lower body cladding, this coupe was fully repainted under prior ownership in Japan. The original factory color shows Pearl Grey Metallic (122) per the data plate and the door jambs and engine bay were painted during the repaint. Features include a power sliding sunroof with tilt function, headlight washers with automatic wipers, fog lights, and a pillarless window design. The seller notes minor imperfections on the body on the impact strips, a scrape behind the rear passenger wheel, and some door dings. The emblem on the trunk lid does not sit flush to the trunk lid.
The original gullideckel wheels show some curb marks and wear. New Sumitomo HTR A/S tires were mounted in August 2025 with a receipt included in the sale. New front and rear brake rotors were installed at the same time along with a brake fluid flush.
The cabin is trimmed in Black Leather (261) across the seats, door cards, armrest, and dashboard. Additional leather-trimmed features include the steering wheel and shift knob. All leather surfaces are reported to be original and nicely kept. The Black dashboard is free from cracks along with the door cards and rear headrests. The center console, dash, and doors are trimmed in original Burl Walnut wood and shows some light cracking under the shifter surround and on the center storage box. Features include air conditioning, electric windows, a Technics head unit, and automatic seat belt extenders.
The analog odometer shows just under 64k kilometers (~40k miles). Instrumentation includes a 260kph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, and an analog odometer with trip function. Additional gauges include fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure along with an analog clock and digital external temperature gauge.
The 3.0-liter 24v M104 inline-six was rated for 217 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller reports recent services to include a new fuel level sending unit, tie rod end assembly, brake fluid flush, front and rear brake rotors, all new tires, and a repaired air filter housing. Additional underbody pictures are provided in the gallery below.

@Abby87426 That's pretty normal for cars in KMs. DMV will record the kms instead of the conversion to miles.$12,250 bid placed by @EPKW111

@seller, and @cdscollects, the wiring harness is a non - issue. No CIS injection car had biodegradable wiring harnessI had someone on my team look for the wiring harness tag but was unable to locate the Delphi tag. We very well may be overlooking it but apologize we cannot confirm.$9,250 bid placed by @cdscollects

Genuine apologies for my lack of responsiveness this week. I am working on getting someone to inspect the wiring harness for a Delphi date tag and will update once I know. As far as registering in CA, we really don't know for sure. We import a significant number of cars from Japan and have them titled through the dealership in one of our two locations whether it be VA or TN. It's not an easy process but we've got it down by now. The buyer should have no issues moving forward with the U.S. title. A Carfax has been added to the listing but there's only information showing when we first registered it upon import. I'll try to answer all of the other questions below: - There are no definitive signs of prior accidents but the entire car has been repainted. Upon close inspection, I would say a good portion was masked off as opposed to fully disassembled. There's no documentation or records on the repaint. - picture #24- I don't see any paint issues there - picture #26- the passenger side washer fluid nozzle is loose, but reason is unknown. Should be a relatively simple fix for that which we can assist with. - picture #35- yes the corner light is chipped at the very top corner - picture #61- Appears to be water stains and fading primarily. The discoloration on the plastic bumper strip is not water. It may partially be overspray but I'm not 100% certain. - picture #69- I believe that's just dirt, no delamination. I'll try to get one of my guys over to inspect again. -picture #100- The visor is not broken, however, the mirror piece has a texture to a portion of the lens. - I don't recall any rust on the car. @cdscollects @6thinline9 @Luz_do_sol @roup1The Carfax has been added to the listing. It shows very limited information with first entry upon import to the U.S. We have communicated with the seller and learned they have not been feeling well for the last week. Apologies for the delay in responses during the auction. We will hopefully be able to get some answers shortly updated in the comments. Thank you for your patience.$8,600 bid placed by @Dailydrivenlotus

@mark1 paging the seller. My guess is that you will do better with this auction if you answer the questions below...$7,000 bid placed by @Allmercs
@SwissBliss I just searched for what’s involved to bring a 25+ year old Japan market car into CA—sounds like a total nightmare, even more complicated than my comments suggested. Beautiful car by the way @mark1@6thinline9 - You must be joking, right? Are you saying that, if a sticker/decal is missing on a car, and everything else is in order, but for whatever the reason may be (it was painted over, the adhesive went bad, etc.) the sticker is not present, the car can not pass emissions testing and be driven in California? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the emissions testing process? I have heard that they invented an artificial nose that hooks up to the exhaust to 'sniff' it to see if the exhaust gases are polluting more than they allow. If that nose didn't sniff anything bad and it passed the smell test, but it is missing the sticker, it would still fail and not be allowed to be registered/driven in Cali? Wild.... As a Texan who doesn't have to deal with that CARB stuff on any car, especially one that is 25 years or older and therefore 100% emissions exempt.... I just don't understand it and keep hearing about things with California emissions that blow my mind. But this, if true, is a new one for me! Don't mean to derail the comments section @seller -- this is a really beautiful example and a great year. I personally love the paint switch from silver -> 040 Black. GLWA!@mark1 , Great looking car! A few questions, Is there a carfax link in the auction that I am missing? If not will one be added? Does the carfax report validate the mileage? Any evidence of accidents? Is there any documentation of the repaint such as receipts showing how extensive the job was? If not does it look, at close inspection, like trim items were removed or does it look like they were masked around? In picture #24, is that a paint issue or just glare in the photo? In picture #26 are the washer nozzles loose because the clips holding them are broken? In picture #35 is the side lens broken? In picture #61 is that black paint on the plastic bumper impact strip or water? In picture #69 is the bottom of the rear window starting to delaminate or is that dirt? In picture #100 is the sunvisor mirror broken or is that a reflection? Is there any rust starting at the weep holes at the bottom of the doors and if so could you include a photo in the listing? Finally does the car have the original wiring harness or has it been replaced? I thank you in advance for your responses.$5,150 bid placed by @Map19335
Assuming this can’t be registered in California due to it missing the EPA regulations decal? Actually this raises another question for me: how was it registered in VA?$4,900 bid placed by @Bankrep40
