This 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E first shows registration in Virginia where it stayed until 2013, after which it shows history in Tennessee, Hawaii, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) over Gray Leather (278), this 500E is powered by a 5.0L M119 V8 and paired with a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Equipment includes a power-operated sunroof, fog lights, 16″ alloy wheels, Automatic Slip Control, power-adjustable and heated front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Becker Grand Prix stereo. This 500E is being offered for sale in Caldwell, New Jersey with 102k miles, two factory keys, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax, and a clean New York title.
The car is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) with gray lower body cladding. Equipment includes fog lights, headlight wipers, powered sunroof, factory front air dam, and side skirts. The 500E comes fitted with flared front and rear fenders along with widened bumpers and cladding to match compared to a standard W124. The seller reports the lower cladding was repainted and windshield was replaced in 2021.
Factory 16″ 8-hole wheels are mounted with Michelin Premier A/S tires measuring 225/55 on all four corners. The 500E featured Porsche-tuned suspension with a lower ride height than contemporary standard W124 models and also required a wider track for better handling. The Carfax shows brake fluid flushed/changed, front brake pads replaced and a four-wheel alignment in preparation for the sale.
The cabin features front and rear sport seats upholstered in Gray Leather (278) which is also continued on to each door card. The seller has added the information that the seats have been re-upholstered. Burl wood trim accents the dashboard, center stack in the front and rear, and door panels. Equipment includes power-adjustable and heated front seats, Mercedes-Benz floormats, an electric rear roller blind, automatic climate control, and a Becker Grand Prix stereo rebuilt by Becker with Bluetooth added. The seller reports a small crack on the inside of the rear window.
The four-spoke upgraded steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation that includes a 160mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 102k miles.
The 5.0-liter M119 V8 was factory rated at 322 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. Recent service history shows oil/filter change, lower control arms replaced, and power steering pump replaced in preparation for the sale. Additional underbody pictures are viewable in the gallery.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists linear mileage updates since new. This 500E is now offered with 102k miles and includes, two factory keys, previous records, factory literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title.

@Jasper_Stokes The headliner was replaced at the same time. Original steering wheel and seat covers are included in the sale. The maintenance records under prior ownership speak for themselves, with all work being performed by a Mercedes Benz dealer
Re-upholstered seats not mentioned in the description? That's a pretty important detail. Anything else we should know? Headliner been redone? Is the original steering wheel included?

@BVC500 Thank you for the appreciated insight...we will take a closer look at it
If there wasn't an issue with the fit, it would not have got my attention. It's obvious to anyone who knows Mercedes and who has 500e/E500 in their garage. Original fit, or well-done professionally installed replacements, should not be that loose-fitting. There are wrinkles everywhere. Nice that the pattern matches the original, but the fit is just not right. I urge you to compare to any other 500e for sale as of late, like here: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1993-mercedes-benz-500e-49/
@Gulf There is no issue with fit
@BVC500 Yes both front and rear seat cover and arm rest cover were professionally replaced
I’m curious if the leather seat coverings have been replaced. I’ve never seen MB leather fit that poorly.

They are amazing cars. Probably a bit higher maintenance than a standard 124, but what a ride.
@BoulderBuff Bid with confidence on this one! no expense spared by prior owner on maintenance.
I've been thinking about one of these but know very little about the associated trials and tribulations . My experience has ben limited to E350s and CLKs.

@Jim_Rosenthal Even nicer in person...Extensive service history
I'm curious to see if the 500E board folks comment on this one. It looks very nice indeed. They usually have a file of information, at least on US spec cars.
