This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E first shows registration in California with subsequent registrations noted in Tennessee, Arizona, and Georgia. It shows 3 owners since new and was acquired by the current owner in 2023. Finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) over Anthracite Leather (271), this 500E is powered by a 5.0L M119 V8 and paired with a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Equipment includes a power-operated sunroof, fog lights, 16″ alloy wheels, Automatic Slip Control, power-adjustable and heated front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Becker Grand Prix stereo. Additional modifications to this example include European-Spec headlamps, 17” single-piece replica AMG wheels, a replica AMG decklid spoiler, and clear front marker lamps. This 500E is being offered for sale in Georgia with 122k miles, three factory keys, manufacturer’s literature, spare lights, original wheels, a Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
The car is finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) with paint-matched lower body cladding. Equipment includes fog lights, powered sunroof, factory front air dam, and side skirts. The 500E comes fitted with flared front and rear fenders along with widened bumpers and cladding to match compared to a standard W124. The seller has added the European-Spec headlamps, a replica AMG decklid spoiler, and clear front marker lamps. The Carfax report mentions damage to the right-front and rear portions of the vehicle in 2010. In July 2017 the Carfax shows the car was involved in a rear-end collision and damage to the front. An April 2018 entry indicates that the car was involved in a side-swipe collision. The seller is including spare headlamps, tail lamps, marker lights, and grille in the sale.
Single-piece 17” replica AMG wheels are shown on the car and wear 245/45 Michelin Sport Pilot All Season 4 tires at each corner. The original 8-hole wheels are included in the sale. The 500E featured Porsche-tuned suspension with a lower ride height than contemporary standard W124 models and also required a wider track for better handling.
The cabin features front and rear sport seats upholstered in Anthracite Leather (271) which is also continued on to each door card. Burl wood trim accents the dashboard, center stack in the front and rear, and door panels. Equipment includes power-adjustable and heated front seats, an electric rear roller blind with new switch, automatic climate control, and a Becker Grand Prix stereo. The cabin shows general wear and use with no major blemishes noted.
The four-spoke upgraded steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation that includes a 160mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 122k miles.
The 5.0-liter M119 V8 was factory rated at 322 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. The most recent service includes a new transmission seal in 2023. Additional underbody pictures are viewable in the gallery.
The Carfax report shows linear mileage updates since new and three owners. This 500E is being offered for sale in Georgia with 122k miles, three factory keys, manufacturer’s literature, spare lights, original wheels, a Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.

@Osuby1 Methinks the seller has burned too many bridges in other venues with previous auctions to be considered seriously anymore. It would appear this was bought to flip and that effort has been a clown show. The market has spoken. Again.

@5280M3 Well. Who knows. This type of interactive bid process only works if everyone is interacting.... But, it can be daunting to some, I get it.

@Smcase22 had been wondering the same thing. Seems like he has checked out since he wants $45k plus, and has griped about being raked for the car in the past.
Yikes, no response? :-(
@gsxr Nope. Didn't even get a response. Lots of google history on this car if you google the VIN.

@SilverArrow63 Yes, a VIN search of an E500/500E will almost always return a result with the car's thread on the 500E board. Tough bunch, but you can't get a more detailed "pick-apart" for free anywhere else, not to mention what can also be very enlightening background on the car's history.
@KingKitty, thanks for the info. Yes there are a lot of comments on the 500E board for this. Took me a while to find but just using the VIN made it easy. Thanks again.

Thanks for the comments. All Pre-Purchase inspections (PPI) are always welcome at anytime on this and any car that I put up for sale or auction. Thanks again for the comments and about PPI.
You can see a very exhaustive history and discussion of this car on the 500E board. Lots and lots of good information on it from the people who know these cars inside and out. Be sure to check it out! And with any used car, 500E or other, be sure to get a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) on it. If a seller balks on a PPI, be leery.
No I don't have any before pictures of the car prior to any Carfax damage or accidents to the car. I did not own it untill early 2023. Thanks for the question.
Any before pictures of the damage to the side and bumper?
No rust or bubbles, no pulling while driving or braking/cruising. Thanks for the question.

Seems a bit of a patchwork and while original parts are included I am not sure how much work to remove spoilers and rewoak paint. But for bombing around to see Mercedes friends it would be a nice example. Now big question... There seem a lot of incidences. Any rust at all? Bubles ? Does it pull on brakes/cruising? We know this will be less a collector but more to joy to drive an 80's design supercar that actually let's you bring a friend or two.

This car had a automatic relist on it with eBay, that I tried to cancel, but was relisted on eBay any way at this time. Normally, it should be only onB Market At this time. MB Market has full priority with this Auction and will go to the higher and best buyer on MB Market not to be sold on eBay at all during this Auction time with MB Market Place to all and anyone that wants to bid on this 1993 MB 500E. I think this car is gorgeous and I personally love the Pearl Black Matalic Exterior and Black leather Interior of this 500E. Thanks for looking. Please enjoy yourself and have fund for anyone that this car appeals to you. Best wishes for all your comments about this gorgeous 93 MB 500E.
Just curious - when did MBM start allowing sellers to run simultaneous eBay auctions? Also, nearly a third of the 500Es imported to the U.S. were this color combo. There's nothing rare or unique about it as far as 036s are concerned.
