I noticed quite a bit of overspray on the undercarriage...any info with regards to this?
@Doublemint Thanks for the video. But it seems odd, 1) Virginia requires a car to have a title to obtain plates, yet you say there is no title, 2) that the windows are wide open during the drive, and the Vent fan is off, on a presumably cold day...
Just for clarification...the car is in NY, but now has VA tags on it, indicating that it has indeed been titled and registered in the US? Also, the video you posted is from the seller YOU purchased it from in the UK...can you provide a video of it running and driving in the present? Does the sunroof leak? Do the power windows work? All other features functional? Lovely car, but the rust is a bit of a concern. Thanks.
I never really warmed to this Brand of MB....I don't know why. The whole Maybach concept, while I appreciate its historical significance to MB...I dunno...it was kinda like Volkswagen trying to bring an upscale clientele to warm to its Phaeton...it just never made sense. If your going to go "upscale" from a Benz, your moving into Rolls territory anyway, so, just get a Rolls. Im thinking that is why is sort of disappeared for awhile. Good luck with this. Should be interesting.
Lol. Too rich. Reserve off at 4:49, high and winning bid at 4:50, at right about top of book. What are the odds...? Good luck to you all. Nice job.
Thanks for the video. Can you inform as to what the warning light was that popped up, right at the end of the video? Thanks again...
Good evening... A video of a drive would be very helpful...or did I miss it? Aside from the lumbering of that great engine, it kinda sounds like there may be a need for a new exhaust? Not a deal breaker if true, but definitely a factor in bidding. Thanks.
@alexhekimyan39 Understood. For all those out there...its about 3k to add A/C. Minimum.
@Sgtbueno I've asked...I don't see a compressor. If you look at the auction pics of the black 1984 280 from a few weeks ago, for comparison...well, there ya go.
@Mountainrd27 Nevermind...I see it does not have A/C. Interesting.
Silly question to the seller: I think I see high pressure hose for the A/C...but, I don't see any service records for it, and there is no tag on the core support indicating if it has been converted to 134...it does have A/C, correct?
@gdesena719 Well, I think the market has spoken. Clearly, the reserve was set for a flawless, low mileage car, which it is...but only sort of. What I've learned is that not just low mileage, but correct records of absolutely everything, (registrations, state inspections, service logs, etc), and correct color combo's as well as impeccable Carfax, (which this had a mileage discrepancy..albeit plausible), are what lead to some eye watering numbers. This, as very nice as it is, was not that. Of course, I'm assuming the reserve was not met...
Interesting....
