@VshermanYes I can! I have an amazing transport company that ships there. Good luck! -Stone
@Myk66To respond back to your questions, yes the hydraulic top works exactly how it should. There are supporting pictures and I think videos to show this. I will double check on the videos. I do believe the harness was replaced under MB warranty but a VMI would be the best way of verifying that. The car shows no rust and no apparent fluid leaks or seeps. Hope this helps! Cheers- Stone
@Tonyle it's not mold but is actually a byproduct of aging for these style instrument clusters. The W126, 201, 124, and some early R129/W140 gauge cluster housings were made of a bio-friendly plastic that, as it would age, would create little white dots inside the housing. They do not affect the performance of cluster and can be amended, if needed. I rebuild these gauge clusters and would be happy to assist the winner with getting those dots cleaned out. Hope this answers your question! Cheers-Stone
@AspreyHello there, sorry for the delay in replying to your comment. The paint is in very nice overall condition but does show some age and flaws such as scratches and just mileage wear. This is most prevalent towards the front of the car. Aside from that, there are very few flaws. Maybe a small PDR repairable door ding or two. Hope this helps! Cheers!-Stone
Hello to all of the bidders and viewers! We are happy to present this beautiful and rare A124 Cabriolet. I have had the pleasure of driving and experiencing this car. It is a blast to drive and gives more than enough power, when needed. Please feel to reach out with any questions or concerns and I will answer them to the best of my power. Cheers- Stone
@Bankrep40 I don't know for sure but I will check the records and see what all has been changed.
@waterhazardI don't believe that we do but I will double check just in case. Please feel free to get back with me. Cheers-Stone
@kfineI was right there with you. I was right at the end of the rope to where a parts car would be a similar price. haha
@Alt767Gelt Yes sir it was actually a warning light that one of the bulbs needs to be replaced. I think it was a reverse light bulb that was out. I'd be happy to replace the bulb for whomever wins it! Cheers - Stone
@Davidsbenz560 I saw that the glow plugs were replaced but didn't see a compression test. I can check again today
@Davidsbenz560We have it inside a private museum here in Henrico. If you'd like to come see it, feel free to message me personally and I can give you the location. Thanks! - Stone
@Davidsbenz560I can take a video to show you
@Awismotthe vehicle has not been towed recently. The tow hook cover has been missing for some time.
@Davidsbenz560The seat springs are in impressive shape. The front suspension has been replaced recently. There should be several driving videos but I can take another for you. Was there anything in particular that you'd like to see, in the video? -Stone
@BrittanyK480just a little that is shown in the photos
@tmt721nope no flood damage! No signs of it either.
Hello and welcome to all of the bidders and watchers! We are very happy to offer this No Reserve chance to win our 420SEL project. This black over black "Bankers Hot Rod" is truly a cool spec with an amazing powerplant. I am here to answer any questions or concerns that you may have. Best of luck! -Stone
@faizabri2006 Congratulations! I have sent you an email and given you a ring. That was a fun auction to watch!
@BBSrollerIt's an absolute monster to drive!!
@Coachmuleno we are not a dealer. There won't be any taxes coming from our end. This car is coming from our personal collection and yes we do have some recommendations for shipping. The push-to-start button is just inoperable and needs to be replaced. No undercarriage rust as the photos show. Hope this helps! -Stone
@thphon we unfortunately do not have records of when the coil packs were replaced. However, the car runs well with no misfires. I apologize for my delayed reply.
@c1096306so current issues are: 1. The push-to-start button is inoperable on the shifter but car starts fine with the key 2. Every now and again, the rear trunk release/return will act finnicky Furthermore notes to the future owner: 1. Recommend flushing the ABC system every year to keep the components healthy 2. The keyless-go buttons have all been replaced on the outside, after the photos were taken. 3. New Continental "Extreme Contact Sport" tyres have been installed on all four corners.
Just wanted to come on and say welcome! We are proud to offer this beautiful 1968 280SL finished in the very rare Horizon Blue. I must say that out of all the W113 Pagodas I have been given the opportunity to drive, this one takes it to top of the list. It handles how it should, delivers power when needed, and is truly a nice car to show off. I wish all of the bidders good luck and also welcome all of the others that are just here to watch. I'm also here to answer any questions or concerns y'all may have. Thanks! -Stone
@PVBTexas a video has been taken and will be uploaded today or tomorrow. Thanks!
@PVBTexas questions in order... 1. Cap, rotor, plugs, wires, ignition control module, and electronic accelerator module were all done in recent services. The ignition lock turns very fluidly and there are no catches with either of the two keys included with the car. 2. To the best of my knowledge, this car was not equipped with keyless entry 3. Referencing question 1, this car will come with two keys 4. Ventilation controls and blendoor controls appear to be working correctly. 5. There are a few leaks/seeps coming from the engine bay. The largest I can note appears to be coming from the steering gearbox. 6. I will submit a video of cold start that should show up later this evening/tomorrow morning Thank you for your questions and I'll be happy to answer any others you may have! -Stone
@PVBTexas to reply to your questions in order 1. I don't have any reason to believe that it will fail smog (no smoking or running rich) but I cannot say for sure as we do not test for smog here in VA 2. Major recent (within a few years) services include suspension, ignition, brakes, tires, overall tuneup and several others 3. I have seen some records of electrical repair and diagnostics but nothing specific to harness issues. 4. Cooling system has been serviced a few years back. I didn't see any records of timing chain repair but I have not gone through all of the records as there are a lot to go through. 5. The Air Conditioning doesn't seem to blow very cool but the heater does work well. The AC appears to need servicing at this time. 6. I don't see any electrical gremlins and the owner doesn't know of any issues. The only gremlins we have found are the CEL staying on and the brake pad wear light is on from what we believe is a broken pad wear sensor. 7. I have absolutely no reason to think it wouldn't make a 1500 mile journey. The owner has taken it on many road trips up and down the east coast without a single issue. I have gotten the opportunity to cruise this car quite a bit and it runs very very well. Truly a lovely driver quality car. Please feel free to comment or message me any further questions!
@JasonGilmoreit's located in Richmond, VA
@oilmanit has cracks and isn't perfect.
@KipF You're very welcome. I'm not usually wild about the W126 chassis as I am the older models but I must admit that this is the only time I've ever seen this spec and so it is very interesting to me. This spec and option list is very cool to me. Definitely one of the more "simple" W126s I've seen.
@oilmanIt has been sitting for about 2 years now and we have turned the engine over to make sure that it is free. We haven't made any other attempts at making it run since then. Of course, it was "running when parked" but it has not been run recently. The brakes do have pressure and are not dragging.
@KipF I believe this was a typo as you're correct. These are the federalized DOT 1st Generation W126 headlights. I will have that corrected. I have not made an attempt at operating the back seat or any of the other components on the car. I was told that they were in working order before it sat but that is all I know. Were there any other questions I can answer for you?
@oilmanYes the trunk lid was swapped by the previous owner, at some point. However, we have installed an OEM NOS 280SEL badge since then and there should be a few photos that show this on there. I'm glad you pointed this out as I didn't want there to be any confusion.
Just wanted to come on here and say welcome to all of the viewers and bidders! We are sad to let this car go from the collection but we simply didn't have the extra time to put into it and would like to offer the opportunity for another enthusiast to put it back on the road! She is a very solid example of this rare spec and I believe it has a lot of potential! I am here to answer any questions or messages y'all may have. Thanks! -Stone
@Aymangto the best of my knowledge, the hardtop doesn't leak and neither does the soft top. The owner avoids driving in the rain so this hasn't been tested thoroughly but the lack of water damage indicates that it stays dry
@Aymanghello, yes the car is drivable. Drives, shifts, and stops very nicely and is ready to go cruise! I believe the air conditioning needs to be recharged as it is not working right now. I'm here for any other questions as well.
@mrnick please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]
@MBZTECHIf you message me directly, I can send some photos of that area but no excessive overspray. The paint and clear coat just seem a little discoloured in that area. This is likely from sitting outside but it could also be from some paint work, some time ago.
A lovely example of the 560SL R107 chassis! It would be lovely if we could see some photos of the undercarriage if possible! Thanks- Stone
@MBZTECHUnfortunately, I don't have access to a paint gauge but I believe that the trunk and the rear C pillars of the car may have been repainted at some point. Other than that, I don't see any signs of panel repaint.
I have been getting a few questions regarding the Air Conditioning system of this car. Yes, it HAS been converted from R12 to R134 fittings. I will have some photos uploaded as proof of this. Thank y'all for your interest and feel free to message or comment any further questions!
@maxwellJPit has been off the road for a while so probably brakes and drive train rubber. I'd have a mechanic look it over to make sure there aren't any surprises but overall, it shouldn't take much
Just wanted to say hello and welcome to all of the bidders and viewers. This beautiful R107 450SL is genuinely one of the most honest and true examples I've had the pleasure of driving and working on. With the way the market is moving on the R107 chassis, it is getting more and more difficult to find a clean, rust free, and nice running 450SL that doesn't have a rocky backstory/history. I hope the new owner will enjoy it and love it as much as it has been over the past 40+ years. I am here to help answer any comments or direct messages and can provide pics/videos of whatever you'd like to see. Thanks and enjoy the auction! -Stone
@miggs1No it's just on the edge of the door and on the fender flare
@MBClassicfindsThe cold start, driving, hot start video has been uploaded
@miggs1Soft Top is flawless and like new
@MBClassicfindshappy to help! The AC appears to need a recharge and possibly some diagnosis. It didn't appear to be very strong but I heard the clutch cycle. The car has no rust that I could find, anywhere.
@MBClassicfindsyes I will upload tomorrow. Anything else you'd like to see?
@Jim_Rosenthalthis is the 3.5L M116 European V8
@AbuMahmoudthat is wonderful! I always like to see when the cars go to a good home that will love and treat them right! Best of luck! -Stone
@Alt767Geltthank you very much for sharing and your kind words!
@Asbymanyes all of the gauges are working accurately with the exception of the fuel gauge.
I would like to note that this car has a dual roller timing chain. I have gone out and verified this myself with a borescope, taking photos and video to prove it. If anyone would like a copy of the video, please direct message me. Thanks! -Stone
@Razithank you! I'd be happy to add some photos of the seats, tomorrow. This car was not equipped with the 3rd row seat but instead, has the extra storage compartment.
Hello and welcome to all of the viewers and bidders. We are happy to present this fabulous 560SEL “barn find”. Parked in the early 2000’s, the car spent a large period of time off the road and this is why the mileage is very low for a car this age. The car was garaged during that time, and was “revived” in 2008. After parking the car again, it sat in the mountains of Roanoke, with a bad fuel pump, until 2021. The car runs solid and almost everything works as it should. The seats are still soft and pliable and the dash has no visible cracks. With a decent going through… this would be a wonderful cruiser! Enjoy the auction and I will be here to answer any comments or direct messages. -Stone
Hello and welcome to all of the bidders and watchers! I am here to answer any questions or concerns you may have about this beautiful 350SL. I was lucky enough to be given to the opportunity to put over 200 of the very few miles , on this car. It was a pleasure to drive and offered quite a bit of power, especially compared to the American-Spec 450SLs and other competitive cars of 1979. I am sure that the next owner of this car will be just as impressed as I was with it and will love it for years to come. Thanks! -Stone
@avemaria I have uploaded a few photos of the battery tray that should be showing in the post some time today. Let me know if there is anything else you'd like to see. Thanks -Stone
@PennyHey thank you for the compliments! So there should be documentation photos uploading today to show the work that has been performed. Along with the Engine and Transmission being replaced, the rear differential, CV axels, and all rubber was also replaced. As far as the AC goes, I have not done any diagnosis nor has the owner. During my drive back, it seemed to work a little but I think it needs a recharge. That is all the information I know at this time. Hope this helps. Thanks and feel free to comment or message me with any further questions! - Stone
@avemariaI'd be happy to take a photo tomorrow! Any other specific photos you'd like to see?
I just wanted to say hello to all of the bidders and give a little extra personal insight on this car. I am friends with the owner and have looked over/driven this car quite a bit. He and his father spent around a decade maintaining, restoring, and loving this car just as much as the owners before them. It has lived in a beautiful climate controlled garage during his entire ownership and whenever it needed something, no expense was spared. I drove it from Raleigh, North Carolina up to its current Richmond location and the car didn't miss a beat. It is extremely capable in traffic, a head turner, and still lives up to that 0M617 infamous fuel economy (when I manage to keep my foot out of it, of course). I hope y'all enjoy the pictures and videos and I look forward to meeting the winner of this super cool and clean wagon! - Stone
@iamthejd77Thank you very much! Trust me, it was just as fun to make this video as it is to watch it. The was a "drag race" between my personal 1982 300TD and this the Dieselmeken wagon. I still can't believe the power difference between the two cars. That is a lot of the reason that we had to make this video from a bird's eye point of view.
@jeffkraemerno there isn't a pic of that currently but I will do my best to get that uploaded. If you'd like to message me, I can probably send you the VIN.
@MganzleThe car is currently drivable and was driven over 100 miles recently. However, for a long distance trip, I'd recommend trailering just in case
@W113_SLso we found some copies of emails in the trunk talking about using the car in a film. We didn't research any further so it is up to the next owner to find out. Hope this answered your questions. Best regards! -Stone

StoneBelvin said:

-Stone

@MBClassicfindshappy to help! The AC appears to need a recharge and possibly some diagnosis. It didn't appear to be very strong but I heard the clutch cycle. The car has no rust that I could find, anywhere.

Thanks! -Stone

- Stone
