This 2006 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG shows just 30k original miles with registration in New York, Illinois and Missouri and features Renntech modifications. Finished in Black (040) over Charcoal Exclusive AMG Nappa Leather (581), power is provided by a hand-built 6.0-liter Biturbo V12 engine mated to a five-speed AMG SpeedShift automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Equipment includes heated and ventilated front and rear seats, Parktronic, Bi-Xenon headlamps, an electronic trunk closer, Active Body Control suspension, four-zone automatic climate control and multi-piece AMG alloy wheels. Renntech modifications consist of an ECU tune, intercooler pump upgrade, performance air filters and a lowering module. Recent maintenance includes an engine oil change, a brake fluid flush, new battery and alternator, new Michelin tires, new coil packs, spark plugs, auxilary fan assembly, and an ABC service. This Renntech S65 AMG is now offered for sale in Fort Myers, Florida with the original manufacturer’s literature, service records, two remote keys, a clean Carfax report and a clean Missouri title.
The exterior is finished in Black (040) and features AMG body styling with a sculpted front air dam, AMG side skirts, an AMG rear apron and quad chrome-tip AMG exhaust pipes. V12 Biturbo and Renntech badges are featured on both front fenders. Exterior equipment includes Bi-Xenon headlamps with heated headlamp washers, a power tilt/slide glass sunroof, Parktronic parking sensors, an electronic trunk closer, auto-dimming mirrors and a carbon fiber license plate frame. The exterior is in good condition with no signs of damage present and the seller had a full ceramic coating applied to the body and wheels in preparation for the sale.
19” AMG multi-piece wheels are finished in gray with a machined lip and are wrapped in a set of new Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires measuring 245/40 front and 275/35 rear with 2022 date codes. Silver-painted AMG calipers bite down on cross-drilled and ventilated two-piece discs measuring 15.4” front and 13.7” rear. The ABC suspension offers adjustable ride height and stiffness and has been equipped with a Renntech lowering module. The seller reports that the ABC suspension was recently serviced.
The cabin is trimmed in Charcoal Exclusive AMG Nappa Leather (581) and features matching AMG floor mats and Burl Walnut wood trim. Both front and rear outboard seats are heated and ventilated with the front seats including multi-contour and rear seats offering adjustable seat backs. Additional interior amenities include a 6.5” COMAND display, a 6-disc CD changer, rear side-window sunshades, a power rear sunshade, four-zone automatic climate control and an integrated motorola car phone.
The AMG steering wheel frames a 220-mph speedometer along with a 7k-rpm tachometer and analog gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Digital instrumentation includes an outside temperature sensor and a digital clock along with a configurable central display. The digital odometer currently shows just 30k miles from new. The steering wheel offers power adjustment for tilt and telescope as well as shift buttons mounted on either side.
This long wheelbase sedan is powered by an AMG 6.0-liter Biturbo V12 which has received a Renntech ECU tune resulting in an output of 672 horsepower and 980 lb-ft of torque. The seller notes that a Renntech dyno sheet is included with the car. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 722.6 five-speed AMG SpeedShift automatic transmission. An engine oil and oil filter change was recently performed by Prestige Mercedes of Fort Myers along with new coil packs and spark plugs. Additional service in preparation for the sale includes a new battery, alternator, auxilary fan assembly, brake fluid flush, and ABC service. Additional Renntech modifications include an upgraded intercooler pump, performance air filters and a top-speed delimiter.
The Carfax report shows registration history in New York, Illinois and Missouri along with linear mileage updates and no accidents or damage reports present. Included with the vehicle is the original manufacturer’s literature, a Renntech handheld tuner, a spare tire and tool kit and two remote keys. This 2006 Renntech S65 AMG is now offered with service records, a clean Carfax report and a clean Missouri title.
The seller has provided videos below including a detailed overview and a cold start and ABC demo.
Upon its release, the S65 AMG was one of the fastest and most powerful cars available on the market. Equipped with the formidable M275 engine boasting twelve cylinders and two turbochargers, this super-sedan could catapult to 60 mph in a little over four seconds, while delivering an impressive torque figure of almost 740 lb-ft straight from the factory. Produced for only one model year, just 427 units made it to the states making this one of the rarest modern AMG’s ever made. This example has been incredibly well kept showing just 30k miles and features Renntech upgrades which elevate the performance to a new level. The ECU tune adds 70 horsepower with an additional 250 lb-ft of torque which, with the inclusion of a top-speed delimiter, makes this a bona fide 200-mph car. Recent maintenance addresses two of the known problem areas for this car including a new set of the ‘six-in-one’ coil packs along with an ABC service ensuring that buyers can bid with confidence. With collectors increasingly aware of the rarity and performance of the W220 S65, clean examples like this come in high demand, and given the mileage and history, this example is certainly one to pay attention to.

@BenzBuff FULL TRANSARENCY : The hiccup at the end of this auction is 200% on me and I apologize for any inconvenience because of this. In the heat of the moment, I lifted the reserve (or so I thought), then wrote two comments to that effect. With only 4 seconds left, however, I realized that my attempt to lift the reserve from MBMarket site had not gone through (bad internet or operator's error on me; not MBMarket) and run out of time while trying to fix the issue. While I wasn't thrilled to sell this machine for so little, I had given my word that it would sell to the high bidder and it was my obligation to honor it, whether it showed on MBMarket site or not. I immediately called MBMarket and within seconds they were on the phone with the high bidder, confirming that he had won the car. But then I learned that he asked for additional concessions from MBMarket or me to buy it. His point (a valid one), that he was not obligated to accept the terms of the auction since MBMarket site did not show the car as "Sold". Faced with the options of offering more discounts on a hard-to-replace vehicle, or not making a sale, I decided to KEEP my car. You may see this RENNtech S65 at the Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance later this year perhaps, or The Amelia in early 2024. Cheers! MercedesDad.
What happened? Was it indeed sold at 56K?
If they honor the high bid @RRunner will have stolen it @ 56k!
Just reached out to MBMarket, I believe internet issue on my end :) They will be reaching out to the highest bidder.
Why is it showing as "BID To" instead of "SOLD FOR" if the reserve was met.
I recently purchased this car's twin with 48k miles. What. A. Machine. Jeremy Clarkson would approve. The resale values on these are starting to skyrocket very quickly, the winner of this car will undoubtedly be able to sell it for more money in the future.
And I have seen several of Mercedes dad‘s cars out the door if this has to be one of the premium” for your eyes only” cars that he has sold!
This beautiful RENNtech S65 AMG WILL sell today. Mixed feelings because it will be very hard to replace.
Ladies and gentlemen, THE RESERVE IS OFF!!!

Good morning Mercedes-AMG aficionados. Last auction day and I wanted to thank everyone for welcoming my Renntech S65 AMG; from those who have already bid, to those who asked questions or simply shared their admiration for the mythic V12 Bi-Turbo AMG. Possibly some of the greatest automobiles ever made; and likely never to be made again. I must also thank all those who called and emailed within the past 48 hours; conversing cars with you is almost as fun as driving them. I will be checking in regularly in case anyone has a last-minute question. Thank you again and good luck bidding. You will NOT be disappointed. MercedesDad

@MercedesDad Thank you so much. Just looking for previous owner experience on platform and I appreciate it.
@Flexman Thank you! If I recall, Mercedes-Benz timing chains are not a scheduled maintenance item (I am not a mechanic, so please confirm with your Mercedes-certified tech). I can tell you that my current M275-powered daily driver has 70K miles, and the one before it 175K (as in one-hundred, seventy-five thousand miles) on the clock. Neither has needed timing chains/guides. Both run like intercontinental ballistic missiles :)
Very nice representation!
Greetings, 1st and foremost, such a stunning car! Question pertains to maintenance, in particular the timing chain. Most vehicles have a mileage and/or a time-frame in which this service/replacement should occur. I could not find anything decisive on this particular platform. Is it known, what this interval should be with this vehicle? Thank you in advance.
Fantastic presentation by @seller Really shows the impact of great photos and prep before an auction!

Yea Bruce was the man. I saved one of the cars he left me. Naturally its a v12 Benz. I played in a game at the rink where he and I played for the first time since his passing over the weekend. Very sad. I am sure he is seeing this car and smiling. He loved the W220 S65
A Bruce auction was appointment viewing, even if you weren’t an interested buyer.
@WANNAALLCARS Thank you! The Renntech work is fresh (last year), and yes, this car was dyno-ed and road-tested by them before I took delivery. All the documentation is included with the sale.
@howS I miss Bruce; I actually owned one of his cars (passed down from another V12 enthusiast). He singlehandedly helped raise awareness about this endangered species. His posts? Legendary.
@Britton9d It will be my pleasure , I will get those shots for you. This S65 is 100% rust-free.
Hello Mercedes-AMG enthusiasts, Thank you for your interest on my Renntech S65 AMG. I am a life-long enthusiast with an admiration for everything Mercedes/AMG since the age of 8, when my father took me to a local dealership to see the recently released Mercedes 190E. That was 38 years ago; plenty of time to turn a child's veneration of the 3-Pointed Star into an all-out obsession. So rather than fighting it, I doubled down by opening a specialty-car dealership seven years ago. With my father still by my side, our small business is laser-focused in helping others, like us, find the car of their dreams. THIS, is one of those cars. I have bought and sold about half-dozen Bi-turbo Mercedes V12s in the course of business (all low-mileage examples) and I cannot think of another car I would like to drive until I cannot do it anymore. I actually daily-drive one at a rate of 26K miles per year and it has been super reliable. Arguably, however, this is the cleanest of them all. Beyond the clean CarFax, very low miles and service records going back to 2009, it is the touch and smell of supple leather surfaces, the silkiness of the Alcantara trim and glass-like feel of the factory 040-Black that sets this one apart from similar offerings. And then you drive it. Everything feels new; no rattles, squeaks, odors, rust or leaks ... only the smell of a *new* Mercedes and its soothing effect enhanced by the reassuring tune of twin-spooled 12 cylinders to remind you that life is good. Like a gentle giant cradling you and your loved ones, serene, yet capable of unleashing overwhelming fire power on command. That is because this S65 has been loved its entire life with records showing regular services, in addition to work performed after I acquired it. This S65 AMG was in fantastic shape when I received it, but I wanted to go over everything that one should look for when acquiring one of these vehicles. A little overkill perhaps, since everything seemed to work properly; from ABC suspension and coil packs to the doors soft-touch close mechanism. Accordingly, the following was performed by Mercedes-Benz specialists: - Full inspection and road tests, - Oil, filter service, - OEM battery, - Brake fluid flush, - OEM coil packs, left and right, - OEM sparkplugs, - ABC suspension service, - OEM cooling fan assembly and module, - OEM Alternator, - OEM pneumatic pump assembly (soft touch door mechanism) - New Michelin Pilot Sport tires all around. Some of this work had been done shortly before I acquired the vehicle, but we did it again anyways in preparation for what would follow. Next, the S65 was shipped to Renntech's headquarters in Stuart, Florida. I followed the transport truck to deliver my car in person and I run into Mr. Hartmut Feyhl (Founder, President of Renntech) outside his office. I asked him something along the lines of "what would you do if this S65 were yours?" Mr. Feyhl, a gracious man and a gentleman, commented that the W220 S65 is plenty powerful already. And nobody really needs all that power and torque under normal circumstances. But if he had his way (and I paraphrase here), he would like subtle updates to address minor compromises that AMG had to incur in order to sell these cars through the Mercedes-Benz dealership network. All of this without compromising drivability and long-term reliability expected from a Mercedes-Benz. Accordingly, Renntech performed the following updates: - Another thorough inspection. - RENNtech ECU tune. - RENNtech intercooling pump upgrade. - Performance air filters. - RENNtech lowering module. Everything tested on their dyno before road tests performed by Mr. Feyhl himself. Last but not least, this car received a ceramic coat treatment before being offered for sale. Consequently, everything works as intended and I am confident that this Renntech S65 will reward its next owner with many years of faithful service. Whether displayed on the show field, on a special occasion, or enjoyed daily. Thank you again for considering my car. MercedesDad
When were Renntech mods done? Is dyno sheet from actual car or? Thanks what a monster!!
Somewhere up in heaven bruce_m is smiling. This one is right up is alley. Stunner!!
