This 1996 Mercedes-Benz E320 was sold new in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in March of 1996 where it’s remained with the first owner under consistent dealer service. It currently shows 56k original miles and service records from the selling dealer since 1996. The car is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) over Slate Grey Leather (208) and powered by a 3.2L M104 Inline-6 paired to a 722.3 4-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. This example shows original Burr Wood veneer, an original Becker head unit, a dealer-installed CD Changer, a power sunroof, rear folding headrests, and dual-zone climate control. The included Carfax report and dealer VMI shows consistent dealer service and maintenance with regular oil changes performed. This 1996 E320 is offered for sale on behalf of the original owner with two keys, factory literature, service records, a VMI, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The body is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and features front and rear fog lamps, chrome accents on the body moulding, original glass, and a power glass sunroof. The Carfax report shows an accident-free history and the seller notes a paint chip on the decklid and a ding in the rear driver door. All the black trim is in good condition along with the windshield cowl indicating original mileage.
Original 16” wheels are shown wearing Continental tires measuring 215/55 at all four corners. The tires wear 2012 date codes all around. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes and an unused original spare is in the trunk.
The cabin is trimmed in original Slate Grey Leather (208) and accented with Burl wood veneer on the dashboard, center console, and door cards. The veneer appears in great condition with no fading and indicates garage-storage throughout its life. Grey carpet is shown throughout the cabin and OEM velour floor mats are shown for each footwell. Notable interior features include power windows, an original Becker head unit, dual-zone climate control, folding rear headrests, and a power trunk release. Little to no wear is noted throughout the cabin.
The leather-trimmed steering wheel frames a VDO cluster consisting of a 160mph speedometer, 7k-rpm tach, coolant temp gauge, and fuel gauge. Additionally, the digital odometer is featured at the bottom of the cluster and displays all pixels in working order. The odometer reads 56k original miles.
The 3.2L M104 inline-6 was factory rated for 217 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque when new. It’s paired to a 722.3 4-Speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The included Carfax report and dealer VMI shows consistent dealer service and maintenance with regular oil changes performed.
The included Carfax report shows linear mileage updates since new and single ownership. This 1996 E320 is offered for sale on behalf of the original owner with two keys, factory literature, service records, a VMI, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
All of us at The MB Market personally own at least one W210. We get to drive everything under the sun and yet we turn to the late ’90s E-Class as our “tomato soup on a rainy day” car. That should tell you something about this platform – we adore them and they’re home to us. These cars are incredibly tough and most importantly, reliable. This example is paired with a fantastic M104 inline-6 which was soon replaced by the less-sporting M112 V6. This specific example is seriously fresh and delivers decades of modern-classic MB enjoyment without needless party tricks. Good build quality paired with good materials.

Too bad the seller has a fantasy about what the car is worth. Should have sold at close to double current retail value at 9k. Too bad

I’m kind of obsessed with this thing. A M104 210 would be so good.
I clicked the message seller button below, maybe it isn’t working properly? I just sent another test message to see if you get that and the initial message. I’ll rewrite the message here if you don’t have them in a little while when I get settled at work. Thanks for your prompt reply. Carl
@ carguy19 Not sure where you send a message with some questions but I have not received any messages here that I haven’t already responded back to? What do you need to know about this car, thanks.
Sent a message with some questions, no response as of yet.

@rideair It’s a scratch, not sure how it got there, otherwise flawless paint work. Small door dent is the only other damage to the car. Never seen snow always garaged.
@seller is the spot on the rear deck lid “failed clear coat” or some type of worn/scratch?

Purchase this same exact 96 model year with just about the same exact mileage approximately 11 years ago. Same color combination, engine etc... Kept it for about 1 years as a semi daily driver, and took it on many long road trips. When my son got his driver's license he took over stewardship. We took this car to Amelia Island from NJ at least 3 times, and it had over 150k miles when it was totaled in an accident. It was a great, and reliable car, and most importantly my son walk away from that accident without so much as a scratch. Great car !!!

MBRallycar is correct. Harnesses were not an issue on 1996 USA model year (or any 210 chassis, AFAIK). Harnesses were a problem on only 1992-1995 USA model years, with either HFM or LH-SFI electronic injection systems. 92-93 models with CIS/CIS-E injection were not affected.
@sschwen68 It’s my understanding that the biodegradable wiring harness’s were eliminated by 1996 but I will research that further and post my findings. Thanks
Has the wiring harness been replaced?

People are starting to appreciate these W210s as the last of the breed built when the engineers were still in charge. GLWA
