@mitchellc I sent you a private message. Thanks for the compliment
hello. quick questions. Nor rear sunshade or cd changer? I am outside of Phila Pa. Might take a few days to arrange transport. How long can you hold car after payment? Beautiful car. Was a "pre owned" independant Mercedes full service Mercedes store. 97 e420' s my favorite. Probably sold/serviced 45 units. You seem to have dealt with most all the issues those models had. Thank you Mitchelllc
@KingKitty I'm sure I kept the invoice for the wrong parts. I did the work myself, and I am giving my word that the lower arms and bushings were replaced. Happens to the best of us. Cheers!
You never responded to the question about the Dorman parts. What's up with them?
@Jhoagg good question.... no issues at all. Headliner is in great condition. Thanks for the question.
Hi. Pictures don’t show the entire headliner. Any problems with separation at all? Thanks

@Peabo I can only assume that the owner during that time parked it. I purchased the vehicle in March 2022, I am not aware of why the vehicle parked for all that time. I will confidently say that throughout this past year of daily driving and going up and down the California coast, the vehicle looks, feels, and drives like a 77,000 mile car. Best of luck to all
Seller, it is interesting that this car covered less than 500 miles between 2009 and 2020. Do you know the back story? Thank you

Good bit of back and forth on this, needs some serious bids before all that

Picture 245 shows the upper control arms with integrated upper ball joint. Picture 354 shows an invoice for Dorman upper control arms p/n 520-751 and 520-752. Dorman website with poor photos: https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-11807-520-751.aspx Lower control arms are completely different. Photos 256 and 259 (plus others) show original lower control arms with new bushings. Did you pay a shop to install these parts? They may have gotten some wires crossed.
@gsxr I'm not sure what you referencing to. Picture 245 is not a picture of a control arm. The invoice in July is for Lower control arms. You can see the replaced Lower control arms and bushings in all the pictures of the underside.
@seller - the July 2022 receipt for Dorman front upper control arms doesn't match the photos. The control arms on the car (see pic #245) show original upper control arms. Were the Dorman arms purchased but not installed?
@pummer, as an owner of a similar 1997 E420 Sport with factory HID Xenon headlights, I can tell you the HID's put out an incredible amount of light. They are worth the effort to locate and install. Yes, you need to find used ones with good wiring (takes effort) and then you need to install new Hella lenses (available from Europe) because polishing old ones is a waste of time - they don't stay clear. I installed new lenses on on my factory HID lights and it was worth the effort, the improvement over the old polished lenses was amazing. Lamin-X protective film will make the new lenses last longer. I ended up with an extra pair of factory HID lights with good wiring that I eventually sold for $400 delivered a couple years ago. Had them listed on forums and eBay for many months, nobody wanted them. Tip for buyers: Having the factory HID setup means the car is wired and ready for the factory HID lights, including the control module and front/rear level sensors. The lights have automatic level adjustment based on load. Retrofitting HID lights into a car without the factory wiring/sensors/modules is sub-optimal. If you get a set of the correct lights, they are plug & play into this silver beauty.
Hello all viewers, bidders, and commentors. I would like to introduce one of my beautiful pieces to my collection the 1997 Mercedes-Benz E420 AMG Elegance. History: I bought the vehicle a year ago. The previous owner had maintained it very well. When I took possession of the vehicle, I made sure to go through all crucial components as I was going to daily drive this vehicle. I put about 7,500 miles on it since. Drove it up and down the California coast twice, and daily drove to work. The vehicle is well built, reliable, solid, and comfortable. This specific vehicle model was the very first collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and AMG to offer an AMG body kit without the full AMG works. A true trendsetter to what we see today. (The C36 or C43 from 1996 were full AMG cars, this one is just a styling package). The Previous owner did the following repairs/maintenance items: 1. January 2022 (69,605 miles): Fuel pressure regulator replaced 2. December 2021 (69,271 miles): Spark plugs replaced; ignition coil replaced 3. October 2021 (69,192 miles): Headlight assemblies replaced 4. August 2021 (69,076 miles): Door sensor replaced, engine air filter replaced, ignition coil replaced, blower regulator replaced, blower motor replaced, blower cover replaced, spark plug connector replaced 5. July 2021 (69,033 miles): Oil and filter changed, fuel line replaced, fuel sending unit replaced, cabin air filter replaced, A/C system serviced, window regulator replaced, drive belt replaced 6. July 2021: Tires replaced 7. July 2021 (68,977 miles): ECU repaired My Service Records: 1. March 2022: Upper and Lower Arm bushings replaced. All four shocks replaced. Transmission Oil, Filter, and pan seal replaced. Ball joints replaced. Sway bar links and bushing replaced. Engine Oil & Filter replaced. 2. May 2022: Fan Clutch replaced. Transmission wiring module replaced. Drive belt idler pulley replaced. 3. July 2022: Control Arms replaced. Damages/Items Not Working: 1. The steering wheel has a leather has some wear. 2. The driver's seat has slight wear, otherwise in great shape. 3. Small scratches on the front bumper and small indentations because previous owner had a European license plate on. 4. Wheels are scuffed. Notable Items: 1. There are absolutely no damages to the paint. It is all original. No Rust whatsoever. Please feel free to ask questions and make great commentary on this beautiful W210. Please let the auction runs its natural course and respect the rules set. Good Luck Everyone!
@pummer Thanks for the comment. Halogen. I like them better than Xenon. Works all the time and easy to replace.
I see the headlamps aren't stock. As a former 97 E420 Sport owner myself, that may be a good thing, as the original Xenon headlamps were only used in 97, prone to wiring issues and very hard to find. My question is, are the replacement headlamps Xenon or Halogen? Thanks!
