Thanks to everyone for your comments and especially appreciation of the W210 V8!
Congrats! That brought a pretty strong number. Happy to see people still like these cars as much as I do. A W210 with an M113 is something that you can't go wrong with.
Congrats to @Bernie. Well bought IMO.

Gotta go pick up my 07 S600 from service now. I was considering going from it back to this as a daily driver; these are that good IMO. GLWA

From the era when Mercedes were as reliable as Toyotas are now.

@qsled Very familiar with it as I lived in Weymouth for many years and my wife commuted to grad school at Harvard.

@zachmac Yes, I'm located west of the city (airport is in Boston Harbour). If traffic is light the trip is generally 25-35 minutes.

I assume if one flys into Logan some combo of the T and Uber can get one to it? Lunch at Legal Seafood and road trip.
@zachmac I just came back from my office to sit in the driver’s seat for a few minutes, a heavy nostalgia trip at the moment.
This one is very tempting. Great history.

I’ve uploaded some pages from my MY98 E-class marketing brochure. Good photography, specifications and features.
Pictures of the original dealer brochure included in the sale have been added to the gallery.
Loved the one I owned. And it had n o problem getting to 140mph on a trip out West and staying there for a loooong time. One of the best they built. GLWA
I daily drive a 1998 mercedes e430 and i absolutely love it. Very reliable car and super comfy. Also it feels like a tank compared to new mercedes. I also have a 1977 mercedes 300d and to be completely honest i almost love the e430 just as much. The e430 also has perfect power i can cruise on the highway going 100 plus mph and it feels like im going extremely slow.
@VIGIL Interesting comment about facelifts. Back then I was not a fan of the facelift’s exterior styling changes, the relaxed+rounded front grille and hood detail, the changed rear taillight/back-up lens. I didn’t know about the leather. To add some info about my car, over time I periodically cleaned & treated the leather with leather conditioner, it’s still in excellent condition. In 2022 I reconditioned/polished the headlamp & high-beam lenses with Meguiar’s kit (see photos). At the time I also clayed & waxed the exterior. Very few miles driven since, only in good weather. L&R side mirror glass have been replaced (original glass faded).

I really like these early cars. The leather quality compared to the facelifts are superior. More W124-esque than anything.

@ IrishLad Sure, the car may be stored here. It’s always garaged & connected to a CTEK battery tender.
Hi Seller: I am currently in Fl ..... will not be back up to CT until late April early May ...... just asking, is there any possibility of vehicle storage until then ?. Either way, beautiful car ... GLWTA.

@axle if you win, and do the long overdue trans service, don't forget to also get a new gasket seal for the part leading up to the shifter tunnel/conductor plate. Might as well do that job while you have the pan and filter out. These gearboxes all need that at this point.

Hello to All. Thank you for taking a look at my W210 E430. A lovely car that has been a part of my family’s journey. Smooth power and ride combined. Reliable. High standard of engineering and build. As the saying goes, they don’t make ‘em like they used to. Let me know if any questions, I’ll respond as quickly as possible. Thank you.
Hi Axle, I haven’t changed the transmission oil. I just checked the MB Service Booklet for guidance. I don’t see mention of this. That aside, your question does make me think it prudent to do so.
Nice color, so there has been no transmission fluid changes?
